Good, welcoming hotel to stay at near IAH. Our flight arrived very late (12:30am) and the DoubleTree shuttle was no longer running but they went ahead and sent and paid a shuttle from another hotel to pick us up. True customer service and a warm cookie after a long day at airports is always great. The floors in the hallways to rooms are a little beat […] up from people using the pool then walking on them dripping off chlorinated water but it is somewhat expected. Room was great and comfortable. Although it is close to the airport, don't expect to hear turbine engine whine all day/night, the place is pretty sound proof. I stayed in this "near the airport" hotel as an alternative to the price gouging on airport hotel I'd stayed in a month before that was very mediocre. Houston airport announces that you need to arrive 2 hours before your flight. The hotel advertises free shuttle, but doesn't start early enough for early flights. The front desk recommended that I pay for an extra day on my rental car instead of the hotel providing the free service that they advertise.
