Holiday Inn Reliant Park Area

The rooms were a little less updated than I expected from a Holiday Inn. The air conditioner did not work all that well in my room and when it did work it was extremely loud.

It was just fine as expected from prior stays. Some issue with the air conditioner resulted in high humidity in the room, which was somewhat unpleasant. The reception staff couldn't be friendlier! When I went to my first room, I opened the cabinet where the mini fridge should have been, and it was empty. I had medicine that needed to be kept chilled. I tried to call the front desk to get my room changed, but the phone didn't work. So I took all my luggage back down to the front desk. They gave me another […] room. The second room had a mini fridge and a microwave oven. When I took my shower, I discovered that the shower curtain rod was attached by one screw on each end, instead of two. That made the curved shower curtain rod hang down,and because it was a curved rod, I wasn't able to pull the shower curtain close to the end of the rod and the floor was soaked whenever I took a shower. In both rooms the air conditioner was extremely loud. Both rooms smelled like air freshener. I will not stay at this hotel again and I will not recommended it to anyone else. Read more

The next door neighbors loud conversations in the hall and slamming of the door every few minutes in the middle of the night. Poor security for such a high volume hotel in the middle of several large event facilities.

Stayed here while being an exhibitor at a show at the Reliant Stadium, couldn't be any closer! Can walk out back of hotel and to the stadium, saving money on parking. Hotel has great wifi, included in room, bar area and breakfast restaurant. Unlike most reviewers, I didn't book this hotel because of anything to do with Reliant Stadium. That may explain why I didn't like it. I could see the stadium, and it would be very convenient if you needed to be close to it. I've stayed in Holiday Inns before and this one did not live up to the brand standard (at least of the "newer" models). The hallways were dark and worn down, the hotel had that pervasive humid feeling (I understand it was Houston, but most hotels have found a way to control that) that makes for a general unpleasant feeling, and the room itself felt dirty. The cleaning staff had done its job, but the carpet is worn down and slick, the fixtures are old, and it gives the impression of being unsanitary. One corner of the room smelled as though someone had recently used the bathroom there. I did not involve the staff because I was in a hurry and didn't want to take the time to swap rooms. The staff may very well have handled it perfectly, and I did not give them a chance to do so. They were the highlight of the stay - every person I dealt with was very professional and helpful. There's just only so much they can do in a rundown property in a bad neighborhood (unless you're going to Reliant). Read more

This hotel is perfect for walking distance for a game. If you are willing to drive I'm sure u can find a better and bigger room around. Breakfast buffet was great. Overall I had a satisfactory stay.

Shuttle to Medical Center was a lifesaver. Left medications in room after checkout. They were taken to a supervisor where they were logged in. I left a message and he called back promptly. I picked them up without a hassle. What a relief.

I needed a hotel close to the VA medical center for a business trip. The hotel was easy to find, had plenty of free parking, and the room was clean. Breakfast was not included, but otherwise the prices were very reasonable.

The first room they put us in must have not been used for awhile as the toilet was black. We went back to the front desk and they put us in a Suite with a king bed. Well, when we got in that room the toilet had urine all over the rim and floor. They gave a 2 drink tickets while they came and cleaned it up. On the day of our departure as we were getting […] dressed a maintenance man just walked into the room without knocking or anything. When I asked him about it he said he thought it was out of order. We went down and had breakfast before we left, neither my wife's or my order was cooked properly. She had asked for no onions which there were a ton of them, and my order was something completely different than what I ordered. the first room I was assigned had an absolutely awful odor, but the front desk were very nice and immediately moved me to a new room which was just fine. I think this property has seen better days, but its generally easy to find a good rate online - so that its a good value for the location.
