"Needs an update"

Hilton Post Oak is in need of an update. There was a large poster board in the lobby with some of the materials for a freshening of the lobby. That said, the room was clean and comfortable but not quiet. There were a series of events going on and other guests were pretty loud. I used my hotels.com rewards points to pay for my stay and I got an oddly […] shaped room on a low floor. I should be guaranteed a room with all the specifications i set when i book with hotels.com. When we pulled up half the sign from the building was broken off exposing the wood underneath, lobby had a lot of stains...not a good 1st impression. As soon as I pulled to the entrance I thought I was going to be in a great room. I walked into my room and was pleased with the view from the balcony. Then I looked around the room and wasn't all that impressed. The bed wasn't all that comfortable and had this squeaky frame. The shower head would not stay in place and had little water pressure. "Post Oak is just OK"
Carpet was outdated in the room that was initially alloted had a funky smell. Good service by the receptionist.They gave a different room on the floor we wanted. "Good location but overall just Ok."
For the price and location this hotel worked for me. I just wanted a decent place to stay for one night while I was in town. However if u are looking for a place to relax that's quiet then this is not the spot. If I had not have gotten a great deal I would have been upset. the bed was very uncomfortable; we both sank in the middle of the bed. did not sleep well at all. I was just glad that we spent only one night. The hotel is over priced. I realize it's in the expensive part of town but it is dated. The tub didn't drain well at all. They charge a lot to hook up your computer to wifi. "marginally ok for the price"
the hotel is close to galleria, it is a good point, in general the hotel is OK but other than the big infrastructure probably useful if you are planning an event, i have stayed in better rooms in cheaper hotels near the same area. the carpets are definitively not new, they don't have free parking, so in addition to whatever you have to pay for the room, […] expect to pay 15 additional bucks per day, for you r car. "Needs maintenance"
I have stayed in many Hiltons. This one in the Houston Galleria area is below average. Many features in the hotel have been recently updated to the new Hilton style, but there were a disturbing number of maintenance items, so there was a mix of brand new and old and worn. The lobby carpet was very worn and stained. I took enough trips in the elevator […] with an abandoned luggage cart that I finally hauled it out to the valet station myself. The room privacy lock was very loose, with the screws almost falling out. There were quite a few marks on the room walls and the thin outer window curtains were shredded. The maid forgot to give us washclothes, and the bathroom mirror light was burned out. The parking gate in the garage will come down on your car if you are following another car too closely. We had a late checkout, but the maid was a real pest of checking every half hour whether we were gone. "What a disappointment..."
This hotel was such a disappointment! The room was very BORING and had no personality at all. I have stayed at this property before when it was a Doubletree and think it honestly was nicer then! I was really expecting for the room to be very plush and cozy as the rooms are large but instead the room felt very EMPTY!
