The rooms are absolutely delightful. Because my husband worked on the Little Mermaid ride in Fantasyland, we wanted to stay in the Little Mermaid portion of the Art of Animation Resort. However, when we arrived in the room, one of the bedspreads was missing, and towels were scattered about, as if housekeeping got called away in the middle of working […] on it. This hotel was awesome. Our seven year-old loved the decor on all the buildings and tried all three pools and two play areas. My only complaint was the layout. We stayed previously at the movie resort. That hotel had a circular layout so that the main building was central to all guests no matter which building you were in. Additionally, the buildings […] were of the same construction and just differed by theme. At Animation hotel, the construction style of the little mermaid building differed from the other three themed buildings which enjoyed the same construction style. And the layout was linear overall with the little mermaid building being furthest away from the main building. So if you pick the little mermaid building be prepared to feel like the odd man out. Disney should have intermixed the cheap rooms with the expensive ones instead of being so obvious with the differentiation! Read more

The room itself and the service provided at the hotel were excellent. The only real criticism I have for the Art of Animation would be the quality of the mattresses they are using. I have stayed at other "value" resorts and do not recall them having such stiff, low quality mattresses. It was a nice stay. The rooms were clean and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend that you invest in a suite as opposed to one room for a family of four. Also take note of how far your room will be from the dining area. Ground transportation was slow compared to other resorts.

Disney always does it best. We were comfortable and felt safe at the hotel. Pool was fun and well staffed. I only with there had been a balcony as I like to be close to the room (during nap time) while enjoying the fresh air. I guess something has to give to keep the prices reasonable.

Perfect amount of space for three kids. Instead of cramming into a standard room we got the family suite. My wife and I had our own room and full bath. The themed rooms and pools are perfect for young children. The little mermaid room was small and no coffee maker in the room. This is a very expensive resort for the quality, but my 5 year old enjoyed the lightning McQueen swiming pool. So overal it was worth it.

We really enjoyed this themed hotel right on the Disney campus. Our girls enjoyed The Little Mermaid theme of our room. The place was spotless and easy to find. Little Mermaid section is quite a hike from main entrance (food, front desk, transportation, etc) if you have a lot to carry or small children in tow! Otherwise, very clean and great staff.

Lower cost Disney resort hotel but it was very clean and staff was nice and helpful. If you have issues getting around you may want to stay try staying in a building close to the cafeteria. The Little Mermaid rooms were quite a distance from the check in desk, buses and cafeteria.

I was stunned to discover our room had no cell service. When we asked to be moved, we were informed there is NO cell phone signal in ANY of the rooms. Other than that hotel is fabulous. Great food. A bit of a hike for transportation though.

There were wonderful themed areas with fun outside art /characters, clean and great decor. we took many pictures. We had fun at the outside movie at night, but needed more sitting chairs. We sat on ground for 2 hrs. hard for a 50 yr old grandparent. It was kind of chaotic and confusing at the cafeteria. Our grandson wanted chicken nuggets and Mac and […] cheese, but it was not on menu the three days we were there. Our 4 yr old grandson's favorite foods ; hamburgers, chicken nuggets, pizza, and mac and cheese . Mermaid rooms very small but good housekeepers and fun towel animals. Will probably come back in a couple of years with little sister, but might want a bigger room and closer room to main pool area and food court. Long walks for litte feet. We were very impressed with the Art of Animation Resort. Staff was great and the Lion King Suite was incredible. We had 4 adults and 2 kids and it was plenty big. The design if the rooms and bath rooms were good. Loved the food center and the pool was awesome. If it was closer to the parks it would be a perfect rating. Would stay there again.

My only complaint was the room was tiny and did NOT have a coffee maker. That should be standard in every room. Pool was great even had lifeguards on duty. My daughter loved the Ariel inspired area and the Nemo splash pad. Fantastic price for the amenities!

Decent room. We had a problem with the safe, which caused me to have to use one of the safety lock boxes at the front desk, and there was an issue with the lock on our door the second night - after returning late from the park, we couldn't get in. Maintenance was called, and eventually, we were able to get in. Convenient to the parks.

Not a very large room for what is supposed to be a suite. Our room was on the first floor of the hotels, near one of the exits. Not an ideal spot if you're looking for quiet. We stay in Disney hotels throughout the year as we live in South Florida. We arrived at the Art of Animation around 8pm and at check-in I requested bed rails. I also requested them online when I made the reservation. We arrived in the room, changed and took off for Epcot extra magic hours. When we arrived back at the hotel around midnight there were […] no bed rails and they said the person who checked us in did not put in system...that was disappointing. The grounds are beautiful...entertaining and fun for the kids. We stayed in the Little Mermaid section. I know that there have been a lot of complaints about how far the buildings are from the restaurant and check-in area but this is about the same length in any value resort with a standard room. I thought the walk was average...maybe 5 minutes door to door. Reviews were correct about the noise level. We heard the neighbors alarm go off and their kids screaming in the morning but I think alot of hotels you may have a similar experience. It didn't bother us that much since we were out most of the day. Overall the room was great...size similar to all the other value resorts. We did not use any of the pools but they were all beautifully decorated and there seemed to be plenty of activities planned throughout the day. The food court had a variety of choices and was busy in the morning hours which is to be expected. Overall, it's a great hotel and you can't beat the extra magic hours and transportation that comes along with it. Read more

We got to the hotel early, and our room wasn't available, which is understandable because check in policy isn't until 3pm. They told us they could store our luggage so we didn't have to walk around with it, and that they would text us when our room was ready. That all sounded good! NOT SO GOOD! We received a text @ 1:15pm that our room was ready, and […] the luggage handlers said that they receive that information too, and they bring your luggage right up. at 2:15pm when we still didn't have our luggage we called to remind them we were waiting and they said they were on there way. At 3:15pm, we still didn't have our luggage, and we asked if we could come get it ourselves, as we were eager to change into our bathing suits, because I was meeting a friend off hotel property for dinner and it was getting late. They said it would be right up. We did not get our luggage until almost 4pm. I had only 15 minutes in the pool, before I had to get ready to leave. Later on we put in a complaint to the front desk and they send ut to a very nice luggage manageer. He apologized and gave us some free stuffed animales for our inconviences, which was sweet. I just didn't want this to happen to other families and wanted them to know how long it took. I'd return to this hotel, however, I would hold onto my swimsuit, and remember that sometimes it takes a while for the room to be ready, according to check in time policy. Being a new resort, the condition of the grounds and rooms was what I expected. As always with Disney, the attention to detal is wonderful. We stayed in the Little Mermaid section of the resort and were able to walk through 3 of the 4 sections a couple times daily, at least. The landscaping changed with the theme, from Nemo to Lion King to Little Mermaid. […] My daughter loved seeing the character statues each time we walked by them. The only reason I would not recommend this section was the distance from the main pool, eating area, and lobby area. After a long day at the parks it was still a good walk to get back to our room.
