We stayed for three nights and wish it was longer. The room was great (wood view with bunk beds) and met our expectations. We didn't have a lot of time to explore all the resort has to offer. We would go back and would recommend to friends and family.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Hotel Close to Magic Kingdom"
Really enjoyed and appreciated the "Montana-Style" lodge and the proximity to the Magic Kingdom. Transportation was very convenient with buses and boats running every 10-15 minutes (never had to wait more than 10 for a bus) and the Magical Express running to/from Orlando airport. Price was higher than average, but worth it if you appreciate the amenities […] of convienence and you're able to take advantage of the options on the resort. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"It's like the original"
This "hotel" lodge is modeled after the Old Faithful Lodge Yellow Stone, and they nailed it with a Disney twist. The lobby is gorgeous, as is the rest of the lodge. I have read some reviews on here that mention the rooms are nothing special and "regular" hotel rooms. I did not find this to be the case. The hall ways to the rooms are a little long and […] the elevator location could be better, but the rooms are in typical Disney fashion, well themed and very nice. They are also very quite. My infant son started to cry during the night. I left the room to go get some milk and as soon as the door shut you couldn't hear him. As was expected all the staff was very attentive and genuinely courteous. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good overall."
A good disney experience and my first time in the Disney Hotels. The one thing that bothered me was the crowds, lots of families with Children with very little private time. I was surprised given that it is February. But with in WDW hotel I expect this is always the case. If crying kids dont bother you, you'll love the hotel. My and my lady still found […] plenty of fun things to do there and enjoyed our stay. Food is VERY pricey, that's the only down side. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Excellent Hotel. Would go back again. Only knock was a very hard uncomfortable bed and a relatively small room for the money.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel for families!"
The Wilderness Lodge features everything a family could want. It is a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing setting very close to the Magic Kingdom. The staff was great and went out of their way to make it fun for children as well as their parents. The pool area was quite relaxing, which was an unexpected surprise. There is even a beach with a play […] area for small children. Families can rent bicycles and motor boats to be used on a private lake. This deluxe hotel also has convenient dining options that are tasty. The rooms are comfortable and the water pressure is very good in the shower/tub area. If you have a small child that is out of diapers, you can bring them at night to the "Cubs Den" which is a day/night activities center for the kids. For a fee, you can bring the children and the parents could take advantage of some adult night that Disney offers. That is a real bonus for those folks who might want to grab some dinner without having to order off the kid's meal menu! Overall, the experience was more than pleasant as the Wilderness Lodge is a recommended stay if you want to enhance your Disney experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel to wind down after visiting the parks"
The service and staff are great. Our request for a room with a bund bed and view of the fireworks was honored. The housekeeper made an elaborate set-up of our daughter's webkinz while we were at the park. The room was comfortable and clean. The bunk beds are low and whoever is sleeping on the bottom needs to watch their heads. Fridge is a plus if you […] are traveling with kids and an additional microwave would have been even better (there is one in the Roaring Forks cafe for general use though). We liked the selections in the Roaring Forks cafe and prices were reasonable. Anything you may have forgotten to pack can be purchased in the store near the check-in. Disney tickets can be purchased at the hotel from 7am -10pm. Buses run every 20 minutes starting an hour before park opens, so one can really take advantage of the extra Magic hours. We went to the parks early, relaxed at the hotel-you can go for a nature walk and encounter lots of deer- and then visited the parks again once everybody had recharged. We really enjoyed our stay and would chose this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A perfect stay!"
My stay at Wilderness Lodge was excellent! They met all of my room requests, and the rooms were just refurbished in late 2012, so everything was in great condition. The room was kept extremely clean, even the balcony was scrubbed down daily. I never had any issues with the Disney transportation to/from the parks - it was efficient and not crowded. All […] the cast members working at the lodge, from the bellmen, to the front desk, to the housekeepers, to the people working in the restaurants and gift shop were very helpful and friendly. There isn't one negative thing I can say about the resort - this stay was fantastic! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Pacific Northwest Disney Fun!"
What can I say - this Disney resort is TOP NOTCH!! Of course all Disney customer service is excellent, but there was a special something here that truly felt like home. The location is ideal if you are a fan of the Magic Kingdom (fun boat ride to MK!), but also easy to access other parks with a short bus ride. Food and drinks were excellent, as we ate […] both in Whispering Canyon for lunch and Artist Point for dinner (buffalo flank steak and the cobbler dessert were WOW!!!). The ambiance and atmosphere of the Pacific Northwest was fantastic & "homey" and of course searching the hotel for "hidden Mickeys" was fun too! I have stayed at many of the WDW resorts and this is by far my new favorite! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beautiful!"
As always, the hotel was beautiful as well as the ground. We could see the fireworks from our room and everyone was super helpful and friendly. We initially thought someone had previously smoked maybe a pipe in the room but teized it was whatever they use to clean as the elevator area smelled the same. The key pad cover was on the floor in the hallway […] when we got back to the room, which made me a little nervous, but still worked and there was no issue. It is by far my favorite Disney Hotel. "family hotel"
It was an excellent choice for a family and extremely convenient to get to magic kingdom. The boat is a useful transport option. The only thing that i felt was that every time i turned around, there was an unsaid, but implied, request for a tip. I had to change money into small bills to ensure i had enough to tip. In addition, the envelope for the housekeeping […] was a bit much. I like to tip generously for people that do go out of their way, but to do their job? Other than that, the hotel was lovely. "Not very clean and difficult to check in"
The room smelled of dampness and the check in process was very difficult over 45 minutes to check in. Also at 9:00 am on check-out date they locked us out of the room while we were having breakfast and it seems that this is the way the system works.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great Hotel"
The Lodge was great as usual; my only real complaint is that on previous trips to the Wilderness Lodge we bought many items in the hotel gift store that directly related to the Lodge..... polo shirts , sweat shirts, ornamints, etc. We found very limited merchadise that related directly to the hotel. With the exception of a few items you could buy most […] merchandise anywhere in Disney. We would have purchased considerably more items had they a connection to the Wilderness Lodge. "nice for couples but limited king bed availability"
Being a couple we had thought that the hotel would be geared more towards families with children which was not the case. We thought we had booked a king bed through expedia but found that through expedia types of beds are only requested not guaranteed ... so you may commit to a "king bed" reservation and get two doubles as we did. "Disney World - once a decade"
Disney world is a country inside Florida. I did not rent a car and the following information is based on a week without a car. The Wilderness Lodge is a great hotel and if you are staying for 3 to 4 days - then it is perfect. Buses from the Wilderness Lodge are slow and hard to navigate to other locations. Example Downtown Disney. The food was just […] okay. On a scale from 1great to 10 horrible - it was 4.5 The pool and lake are fantastic options for kids and adults. The night movies by the lake amazing. Stay on the 6th or 7th floor to see the fireworks. Great bonus if you have little kids or enjoy fireworks as adults. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Awesome place to stay!"
Everything about the hotel was great. Rent a boat, rent a bike , swim or just relax. Rustic looking hotel with great service and hospitality. Highly recommend. I always have stayed outside the park. Never will again. Between the extra hours you receive in the park and the bus transportation (or in this hotel you can take a boat directly to Magic Kingdom) […] makes it well worth the while to stay inside the park. "Room Size a Big Disappointment Relative to Cost"
The hotel lobby was quite impressive and grand however the "standard" rooms were just that - standard. The "balcony" was pathetic - room enough for two chairs. The room size relative to the price was a disappointment! There were two sit down restaurants - one was quite pricey and the other was quite loud - Whispering Canyons. You could not get into Whispering […] Canyons (family restaurant) without a reservation or an hour wait - once you did it was very loud. At a time when you wanted your kids to start to calm down - they would get hyper again due to the nature of the restaurant which encouraged guests to scream for what they needed. The menu was also limited. Roaring forks was a Snack Bar that was available as an alternative but served virtually the same food every day. Too bad the rooms were not larger and dining options more flexible - the theme and the lobby really are quite impressive. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Wilderness Lodge was WONDEFUL!"
This resort exceeded all of my expectations. I honestly cannot say enough about our experience. We resort is beautiful; it is the most stunning hotel that I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The customer service was outstanding. We were greeted at the door, given a tour, and our room was upgraded (checked in on a Monday). "Wonderful Wilderness Lodge"
We were able to check-in (11:30am) well before customary check-in time. The welcome staff was very friendly. Comfortable beds and fresh linens upon arrival. The staff at the dining areas was friendly and courteous. Lots of amenities for families at the lodge. Several food options with healthier children food selections. Clean pool with child slide and […] family friendly movies pool-side in the evening. Various transportation options to Disney parks, Downtown Disney that run on a continuous basis. We didn't have to wait over 10 minutes for some type of transport. Courtesy airport shuttle and complimentary baggage handling are great for families to reduce stress of logistics. The room was a tad smaller than expected, but was sufficient for a family of four. Even provided on-site self service coin-operated laundry. Very impressive lobby. Multi story lobby with totem poles and rustic log cabin feel. Also had a gift shop with Disney merchandise, snacks, drinks, juices, etc. for those trying to reduce food costs. Would check with Expedia/Disney to see if dining plan was an option with Expedia reservation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Wilderness Lodge 1/18 - 23"
My 2 adult sons (29 & 26) and I stayed here for 5 nights last week. The room was 30% and it was 1 of the few we have not stayed in. It is not the most convenient resort as you must take either a boat or bus to the parks and Downtown. The boats run sporadically and it takes time to get over to the Magic Kingdom. The rooms are small for a deluxe resort […] and they are very dark. Our floor (6) was very quiet and housekeeping was good although I had requested turn down service for each night, it was only done the first night. The food "court" was ok, the Mickey waffles with fresh strawberries and orange butter was very good. We spent each afternoon by the pool. Nothing special, there are 2 nice sized Jacuzzi behind the pool. We rented a car so we only took the bus once, to EPCOT. Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness share the same bus. "Wilderness Lodge"
Mom of five and three-year-old. Kids loved the pool area, beach area, playground area, and the hotel. The rooms were a little outdated, but the rooms were kept up nice. Had a room with bunk beds and balcony overlooking the pool. Room had a refrigerator and storage for some food. I have stayed here and the Polynesian. I would recommend the Polynesian […] over the Wilderness Lodge for the convenience of the monorail for Magic Kingdom with small children. We did get on the boat from Magic Kingdom to the hotel right after the castle show and prior to fireworks. Watched fireworks on the boat on the way back to the hotel. I would highly recommend this option for watching the fireworks. From what I could tell, you can not see Magic Kingdom from Wilderness Lodge. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"So very Disney"
We have stayed at practically every Disney hotel and "The Lodge" rates up there with the best. If I had to find a complaint, it would be that it should be a stop on the Monorail. It is so close to the hotels surrounding the Magic Kingdom. With that said, it's just a short boat ride to The Contemporary or the Magic Kingdom.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Wilderness Lodge - Aug 2011"
Stayed at the Wilderness Lodge from Aug 24th to Aug 31st 2011. 2 adults and 2 children 12 & 10. Lodge was great, beds were very comfortable. Location was nice too, a boat ride to Magic Kingdom and a bus to everywhere else. Buses were 20 min tops. I do reccomend buying the refillable mug when you get to the resort. You pay $15.99 and get unlimited hot […] or cold beverages the length of your stay at your resort. We waitied until 3 days into our vacation until buying mugs after we realized how much we were paying for drinks. It still paid off! For breakfast we bought bagels in the mercantile (store) and toasted them in the roaring fork cafe. We used the peanut butter, jelly, cream cheese and butter in the sit down section. It saved us money and it filled us up too. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice, but overpriced at full price."
Our stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge was wonderful. The overall ambiance was incredible, the restaurants were unbelievably good (especially Artist Point), the swimming pools were well themed and enjoyable, and the staff was courteous and helpful. Although our room was adequate (standard room with king-size bed), there was nothing "special" about it […] and definitely not worth the full price that the resort would have charged us. I would not have been able to afford this room without the Expedia deal. This resort has complementary transportation to each of the theme parks, water parks, Downtown Disney, and other resorts/hotels. From the resort's beach, you can watch the Magic Kingdom's nightly fireworks and have front row seats for the evening electric light water pageant. I would definitely go back to this resort - but not at full price... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A solid Disney option"
The lobby is stunning. But beyond that, I found the hotel to be a little dated. Even the crew uniforms looked like they were from the '70s. The room was nice, but average and also was a little dated. Our view was of the back service parking lot and some dumpsters (where's the Disney magic to hide that stuff?) The staff was nice and pleasant to deal […] with. The room was clean and perfectly acceptable, just don't expect anything special. The refrigerator is hidden behind a cabinet door and if the bellman hadn't pointed it out, we would have never noticed it was there. The ferry service to the park is nice and fairly prompt. Expect to wait no more than 15-20 minutes for the next boat. It's a nice ride in to the park. We used the bus to go to Epcot one day -- not as exciting of a ride, but a nice convenience. It's a nice hotel in a good location. My one major complaint is that the pool is way too small for a resort of that size. We were there in July and there was always someone bumping into you or some kid jumping on top of you. It was difficult to find 3 empty chairs together on the pool deck. The water slide is nice, but it's pretty small. Don't choose this hotel based on the pool. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
