Disney's Wilderness Lodge is located on Bay Lake in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The lodge stands one mile from Magic Kingdom Park.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge was modeled after the Northwest's great historic lodges. An eight-story lobby features a rushing river, Native American sculptures and artifacts, a traditional totem pole, a not-so-traditional Disney-character totem pole, and a floor-to-ceiling rock-strata fireplace. Artist Point affords views of Bay Lake and Silver Creek Falls, and specializes in wild game and Alaskan cedar-planked salmon. Whispering Canyon Café features all-you-can-eat barbecue and wood-smoked meats. Roaring Fork Snack Bar offers counter service throughout the day. Territory Lounge serves light appetizers, beer and Pacific Northwest wines. The lobby's splashing stream cascades over rock formations and flows down to the Silver Creek Springs outdoor pool which features a waterslide, a children's pool, and hot and cold spa tubs. A private, white-sand beach borders Bay Lake. The seasonal Trout Pass Pool Bar serves beer, specialty drinks and snacks. The Wilderness Marina offers bass-fishing excursions and rents watercraft. A complimentary, limited-hour fitness center houses cardiovascular and weight-training machines, free weights and balance balls. The Cub's Den offers supervised evening activities for children ages four to 12.
Guestrooms.
Disney's Wilderness Lodge offers 727 guestrooms located in two wings. Guestroom doors are etched with teepee designs. Rooms extend onto private woodland- or courtyard-view balconies or patios. Armoires are accented with nature scenes and twig trim. Bed headboards are carved with forest scenes, and bed posts are topped with wood-carved forest creatures. Shades of cool blue and green décor echo the Great Northwest forest's tapestry of colors. Bathrooms feature separate granite-topped vanities and curved shower rods. Rooms include 32-inch, flat-screen televisions and DVD players. High-speed Internet access is available for a fee.

Artist Point - Serving fresh Alaskan salmon, seafood, buffalo, and steaks, this restaurant also offers up a panoramic view of Bay Lake and Silver Creek Falls. A children's menu is available. Dinner only is served.
Whispering Canyon Café - In a family-style setting, barbeque and wood-smoked meats are the specialty. The café offers an all-you-can-eat dinner with smoked and barbecue meats and all the fixings. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served, with a full bar available at lunch and dinner. A children's menu is available.
Roaring Fork Snack Bar - Selections here include wholesome breakfasts, fresh fruit, sandwiches, burgers, desserts, and beverages. The snack bar is a counter-service restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Territory Lounge - The lounge serves appetizers and light bites alongside beer, specialty drinks, and Pacific Northwest wines from afternoon to late evening. Trout Pass Pool Bar - This seasonal bar serves cold brews, specialty drinks, cocktails, snacks, and smoothies.
The resort has a heated outdoor pool with a waterfall set amid large rock formations, a slide and children's pool, and hot and cold spa tubs. There's also a playground and a private, white-sand beach on Bay Lake. Guests can rent boats, and can also arrange two-hour bass-fishing excursions (catch and release) at the Wilderness Marina (surcharge). The Cub's Den offers supervised children's activities, including arts and crafts, board games, storytelling, and Disney movies (surcharge). And guests at the resort have access to a fitness center with stair-steppers, stationary bikes, free weights, and Cybex machines.
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and the 36-hole Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course are both within 5.5 miles of the resort via complimentary transportation. Guest services can assist with reservations at any one of Disney's five tour-caliber golf courses, all located on Walt Disney World® Resort property. A nine-hole walking course is also available.

Really enjoyed and appreciated the "Montana-Style" lodge and the proximity to the Magic Kingdom. Transportation was very convenient with buses and boats running every 10-15 minutes (never had to wait more than 10 for a bus) and the Magical Express running to/from Orlando airport. "It's like the original"
This "hotel" lodge is modeled after the Old Faithful Lodge Yellow Stone, and they nailed it with a Disney twist. The lobby is gorgeous, as is the rest of the lodge. I have read some reviews on here that mention the rooms are nothing special and "regular" hotel rooms. I did not find this to be the case. The Wilderness Lodge features everything a family could want. It is a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing setting very close to the Magic Kingdom. The staff was great and went out of their way to make it fun for children as well as their parents. The pool area was quite relaxing, which was an unexpected surprise. There is even a beach with a play […] area for small children. Families can rent bicycles and motor boats to be used on a private lake. This deluxe hotel also has convenient dining options that are tasty. The rooms are comfortable and the water pressure is very good in the shower/tub area. If you have a small child that is out of diapers, you can bring them at night to the "Cubs Den" which is a day/night activities center for the kids. For a fee, you can bring the children and the parents could take advantage of some adult night that Disney offers. That is a real bonus for those folks who might want to grab some dinner without having to order off the kid's meal menu! "Great hotel to wind down after visiting the parks"
The service and staff are great. Our request for a room with a bund bed and view of the fireworks was honored. The housekeeper made an elaborate set-up of our daughter's webkinz while we were at the park. The room was comfortable and clean. The bunk beds are low and whoever is sleeping on the bottom needs to watch their heads. Fridge is a plus if you […] are traveling with kids and an additional microwave would have been even better (there is one in the Roaring Forks cafe for general use though). We liked the selections in the Roaring Forks cafe and prices were reasonable. Anything you may have forgotten to pack can be purchased in the store near the check-in. Disney tickets can be purchased at the hotel from 7am -10pm. Buses run every 20 minutes starting an hour before park opens, so one can really take advantage of the extra Magic hours. We went to the parks early, relaxed at the hotel-you can go for a nature walk and encounter lots of deer- and then visited the parks again once everybody had recharged. The hotel lobby was quite impressive and grand however the "standard" rooms were just that - standard. The "balcony" was pathetic - room enough for two chairs.The room size relative to the price was a disappointment! There were two sit down restaurants - one was quite pricey and the other was quite loud - Whispering Canyons. You could not get into Whispering […] Canyons (family restaurant) without a reservation or an hour wait - once you did it was very loud. At a time when you wanted your kids to start to calm down - they would get hyper again due to the nature of the restaurant which encouraged guests to scream for what they needed. We were able to check-in (11:30am) well before customary check-in time. The welcome staff was very friendly. Comfortable beds and fresh linens upon arrival. Clean pool with child slide and […] family friendly movies pool-side in the evening. Various transportation options to Disney parks, Downtown Disney that run on a continuous basis. We didn't have to wait over 10 minutes for some type of transport. Courtesy airport shuttle and complimentary baggage handling are great for families to reduce stress of logistics. The room was a tad smaller than expected, but was sufficient for a family of four. Even provided on-site self service coin-operated laundry. Very impressive lobby. My 2 adult sons (29 & 26) and I stayed here for 5 nights last week. The room was 30% and it was 1 of the few we have not stayed in. It is not the most convenient resort as you must take either a boat or bus to the parks and Downtown. The boats run sporadically and it takes time to get over to the Magic Kingdom. The rooms are small for a deluxe resort […] and they are very dark. Our floor (6) was very quiet and housekeeping was good although I had requested turn down service for each night, it was only done the first night. The food "court" was ok, the Mickey waffles with fresh strawberries and orange butter was very good. We spent each afternoon by the pool. Nothing special, there are 2 nice sized Jacuzzi behind the pool. We rented a car so we only took the bus once, to EPCOT. Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness share the same bus. You pay $15.99 and get unlimited hot […] or cold beverages the length of your stay at your resort. We waitied until 3 days into our vacation until buying mugs after we realized how much we were paying for drinks. It still paid off! For breakfast we bought bagels in the mercantile (store) and toasted them in the roaring fork cafe. We used the peanut butter, jelly, cream cheese and butter in the sit down section. The overall ambiance was incredible, the restaurants were unbelievably good (especially Artist Point), the swimming pools were well themed and enjoyable, and the staff was courteous and helpful. Although our room was adequate (standard room with king-size bed), there was nothing "special" about it […] and definitely not worth the full price that the resort would have charged us. I would not have been able to afford this room without the Expedia deal. This resort has complementary transportation to each of the theme parks, water parks, Downtown Disney, and other resorts/hotels. The lobby is stunning. But beyond that, I found the hotel to be a little dated. Even the crew uniforms looked like they were from the '70s. The room was nice, but average and also was a little dated. Our view was of the back service parking lot and some dumpsters (where's the Disney magic to hide that stuff?) The staff was nice and pleasant to deal […] with. The room was clean and perfectly acceptable, just don't expect anything special. The refrigerator is hidden behind a cabinet door and if the bellman hadn't pointed it out, we would have never noticed it was there. The ferry service to the park is nice and fairly prompt. Expect to wait no more than 15-20 minutes for the next boat. It's a nice ride in to the park. We used the bus to go to Epcot one day -- not as exciting of a ride, but a nice convenience. It's a nice hotel in a good location. My one major complaint is that the pool is way too small for a resort of that size. We were there in July and there was always someone bumping into you or some kid jumping on top of you. It was difficult to find 3 empty chairs together on the pool deck.
