Our room was tidied every day of our 5 night stay, it was really convenient being able to take the busses to and from the parks and downtown Disney. The room was a bit smaller than I had expected but it accommodated me and my boyfriend just fine. "A little bit of a let down..."
This was our first experience staying at a disney resort and to be honest, I'm not sure I would do so again. The room iself was not really any differnt than a room a an average hotel. Two double beds, table with two chairs, tv etc. It did contain a mini fridge, however, it didn't seem to be working and was not even the slightest bit cool on the inside. […] The front checkin area is extremely inconvenient, you are not permitted to park or leave you car anywhere in the vicinity of the front door, but must park in a designated area, go in and check in, then go back to your car and drive to whichever building you are assigned. There is NO parking that is close to the rooms. No matter where you park you will have quite a walk, and there ar eno luggage trolleys, so if you have a lot of bags you will either have to request assistance with your luggage or be prepared to make multiple long trips back and forth. The rooms also seem to be temperature contolled, our thermastat would not go down below a certain point and it seemed hot in the room. Both myself and my husband had difficulty sleeping because the room felt too warm. For the price that you pay to stay at a Disney resort it just doesn't seem to be worth it... "Not a good value"
We knew this was Disney's "budget" tier of hotels. Rooms are very small. Staff was pleasent and willing to help. Disappointed that the in-room refrigerator was grimy. Towels are remincent of High School gym towels, small and thin. The size of the complex makes it confusing to find your way. Some of the rooms are in the center of the complex making it […] a bit of a treck from the parking lots. Food at the food court was better than expected, fresh and a good selection, overpriced, but it is Disney so that was expected. I don't believe it was a good value for the $ paid. There were a lot of kids staying in the hotel, so I was hoping that the hotel would offer stepping stools for my kid to brush, but no luck. The Wifi was terrible until I complained and someone came and rebooted the modem. I asked for a Premium room and was disappointed. The room was too small for two people and the bathroom area was very small as well. The pool is outdoors and they do not have an indoor pool. Just "ok." Good value, especially for Disney, everything we needed, but nothing special. Rooms and bathrooms were clean but seemed a little dingy. If I stayed again I would definitely ask for the Fantasia or Dalmations building. The others (including Mighty Ducks where we stayed) are FAR from the lobby/busses/cafeteria. "I expected an easier check in!"
At the moment of check in, the line was extremely long and slow. Patience!!! Also, after my check in was completed, I walked over the room and my reservation was for a king sized bed room and they gave me a two standard bed room....so I was informed that for the change I had to return to the front desk...back to the long line! "Should have booked a Moderate Resort :("
The price was good and it was very kid-friendly, which is why we chose the Value Resort as opposed to one of the Moderate Resorts. But this was definitely a budget hotel compared to the nicer places Disney offers to stay. There are kids everywhere, the rooms are small, we did not get a king size bed as we had booked, we came close to running out of […] hot water several times, there was no coffee maker in the room, and our room was in the very back of the hotel, so after walking all day, we had to walk what seemed like a half mile just to get to our room. On the up side, the staff was friendly and did everything to make sure we enjoyed our stay. My daughter loved the large arcade and the bright colorful large character figures everywhere. "Didnt love it"
The hotel fom the outside is very well kept, the pools are great. The service in the food court was good and the people there were nice, however the food is the same everyday, there is not much variety, i was there for a week and felt as if i ate the same thing everyday. One day after being in a disney park for 10 hours plus we came back to the hotel […] to find that our room was never cleaned. Prior to leaving the room we had stripped one bed because the child had an accident in it. When we returned to the room not being cleaned we called room service and they told us it was our fault for not requesting a sheet change however the other bed was not made, old towels were not aken, and new ones were not left, therefore the room was not cleaned at all. They then proceeded to bring sheets to the room and hand them to us so late at night after a long long day in the park we had to make our own beds. When we called the front desk to complain they just asked if we had sheets now when we said yes they acted as if they didnt undertand why we were calling. I knew what to expect of this stay because I stayed at this hotel about 10 years ago. The beds were comfortable. The pool was nice and the theming outside was very cute. The room was clean, but the shower was out dated and the a lot of grout between the tiles was missing. "Disney All Star Resorts"
Disney has designed these resorts mostly for the newer family's with not much money. Rooms are average, adequate. Food is over priced, and will be stone cold in the cafeteria style setting. You wait in long lines for an item, then jump to the next long line and by the time you make it to your table - everything is cold, and you just spent 5 to 10 dollars […] on a single entree. Kid food is tiny, but meant for the real little ones. Unless your destination is strictly Disney - you have to rent a car, but you can do that on the Disney property over by the Magic Kingdom, rates are comparable. If you are assigned one of the most outer rooms, you have a quarter mile round trip for a cup of coffee in the morning. My suggestion to Disney would be put a beverage machine closer to the outer buildings, even if you had to pay for it. Our stay was fine, just restrictive until we rented a car. Traveling to Disney World can get pricey, so if you're on a budget- any of the Disney's All-Star hotels (sports, music, movies) is a good choice to consider.
