"Nice outside outdated inside"
The hotel lobby and entrance were very nice, everyone was friendly. BUT The room and hallways are VERY outdated for the price. Beds are comfortable and rain shower head is nice but the room is a nice days inn and the bathroom itself is unremarkable. Television channels are hard to navigate and not many. Disney hotels are made to encourage you to go […] to the parks but sometimes you want to relax. Had to change rooms. Pray you don't have an adjoining room, you can hear EVERYTHING in the next room! "Read the small print if you can find it."
I feel that the resort always had there hand in my pocket. Parking costs $20 per day, should have been free, $7 for a bottle of water was a rip off, and there was only internet access in the rooms. I went to the business center to print something and I had to pay to us there computers, not my laptop, because there was no wireless internet. The breakfast […] buffet was very expensive. Good Hotel for Disney but not Great for the money. The front desk is Excellent and the prices for room service are reasonable for the kids. However, watch out for the Valets at this hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a real Disney Hotel"
While the Starwood Swan is a nice hotel, it is overpriced for the venue. The restaurant staff in some of the restaurants were terrible, however the higher end restaurants (Blue Zoo and Il Mulino) were excellent. The $14 per day charge for bottled water and WiFi was ridiculous. The WiFi was very slow and spotty. I couldn't conduct business at all using […] this service. I'll stay again though as the Boardwalk Area is prime realestate for those visiting Disney's EPCOT or Hollywood Studios parks. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"No benefit for staying at Disney property!!!"
Although the hotel, surroundings and room were fine we had unacceptable service in getting to the Disney park. The benefit of staying at a Disney resort is supposed to be the early and convenient access. There is a shuttle bus running from the hotel to the park which is supposed to start at 7:15 so fans can get to the park for the opening at 8:00am. […] Our three families were there at 7:10am and the bus did not arrive until 8am which means we got up early for no reason and worst of all missed the opening of the park. We called and went to speak to the bell desk and no help was provided. We are avid Disney fans and this was unacceptable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel in a convenient location"
Our family of four (two young children) stayed at the Disney Swan. We chose the Disney Swan based on its location. We stayed in a room with the boardwalk view. When we didn't feel like going to any of the parks, we just walked to the Disney Boardwalk, which had plenty to see and do. Everything else is just a bus ride away. We didn't need to rent a car […] at all. We booked a townscar to the hotel and then back to the airport. The staff was very helpful when we needed help. Room service arrived very quickly, the concierge was helpful, and the check in was quick. We stopped to dine at the Garden Grove on our first night there and my children met Goofy and Pluto right away. We enjoyed the pools, although the kiddie pool was closed. The pools were heated and my children loved swimming. It was a bit cool when we were there so we didn't get to swim all days. There is also a sand beach and a playground where our kids played on days we didn't go to any parks. I also tried sitting in a hammock for the first time and fell off immediately, giving my family the giggles. There was plenty to do at this hotel when we didn't feel like going to any of the Disney parks. I liked that we were able to walk to the boardwalk and see the other resorts. We dined at the other resorts too. The boardwalk was beautiful at night. I wish that our room was just a bit bigger for our children to run around. We enjoyed staying at the Disney Swan and would probably stay here again if visiting. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close, convenient but not luxury"
The first room we were assigned smelled musty and the air conditioning was not working. The staff quickly switched rooms for us and they were extremely helpful. The Swan is convenient to Disney/Epcot by water taxi. We would certainly stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Swan"
The swan has amazing food and good service. It's a bit worn from use and too much trouble to get to parks. Will stay on monorail next time for sure. Took 45 mins to get to and from Magic Kingdom. Shuttles were very crowded.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Okay hotel, great staff and location."
Everything was fine, but the hotel looked worn, rather drab, more like a Holiday Inn, but for a lot more money. Staff, however, were delightful, most helpful and accomodating. Other than the swan fountain, and a few swans on the building facade, didn't really see much swan connection. It was fine, really, but I didn't feel I got much for what I paid. […] And the breakfast buffet is definitely not worth the cost. No one at the omelet station when we were there, either. Just expected more quality for the cost and reputation. "Great Service, Good Food"
The hotel was nice and the service was excellent. Enough food choices and not too over priced, although expensive. The worst part was remodeling/maintenance of rooms below us for 2 of our 3 days which was very loud when the kids were trying to nap. Easy 10 min bus ride to Magic Kingdom and even shorter boat rides to the other parks.Genuine Expedia guest review
"It was ok..."
We checked into our hotel about 8 o clock at night and was greeted by friendly desk personnel. They still charged us the hotel fee for the full day , figured that would happen though. We hurried to get to a park before they closed . When we got back at 11 we were a little bit hungry so we tried looking for something and everything had closed so we needed […] to go to the dolphin resort . "Realy convenient"
The Swan is an aging property that prices its rooms appropriately but still prices all the ancillaries as if its a resort -- $90 room service for pizza, pasta and salad and a $40 breakfast that given included Donald and Goofy but in January when you can't use the pool it feels a little nickle and dime ish. "Board Walk View was disappointing."
We paid extra for the Boardwalk View and it was NOT worth it! We had a view of the trees and the back side of the Boardwalk hotel. We were on floor 5. That was not the view we had expected at all!! We were rather disappointed. They should really call it a Fire Works view because you can see the nightly fireworks from Epcot which was nice..but that lasted […] 10 minutes. View is not worth the extra money. I think the resort fee and parking fees are expensive, but that's everywhere at Disney. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location."
Found an unwelcome critter (deceased) in hallway of our floor. Brought it to the attention of the Hotel staff. It was removed. Beds were very comfortable. But there were annoying "clicking" sounds while trying to sleep. May have been the Heating and Cooling system. Gas blowers used by maintenance men were a daily annoyance as well. What ever happened […] to brooms and rakes? It was difficult to enjoy sitting by pool and enjoy a book or cocktail. Had rental car parked by Valet the first day we arrived. Five days later we were leaving for airport and discovered we were charged $20.00 a day for the privilage of leaving our car unused in their lot. I fought that charge and they removed $80.00. But overall it was a great stay. Mostly because of location. We walked to Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the Boardwalk. Took Shuttle to Downtown Disney. Nice! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Sad that we chose the Dolphin"
Upon checking in, the hotel charged my credit card for incidentals (no problem). However, the following day I checked my bank statement and had been charged over $300 for incidentals ($300 which I was planning to spend). I asked the hotel to correct the problem, which they assured me they would (did not happen until I got home - which was then over […] $400 - managers and staff never called me; they said they would). Our first room had hairs on the bed and looked very rundown. We asked if we could upgrade to a suite but since none were available, we were given a room with a view, at no charge. The room with a view had a balcony, which was very nice but was still very rundown. Our vanity mirror fell out of the wall, the bathtub looked like it had not been cleaned in ages, and the fridge and a.c. were both not working. Maintenance came to fix the fridge and a.c. but we had issues with both for the entire week (my daughters milk actually went sour because the fridge stopped working multiple times). We were charged to park daily ($15) and to use the gym, internet and get 2 bottles of water in our room (another $14). This property did not offer a shuttle to the airport (as the other Disney hotels do) so we had to pay $65 for a cab. If you are going to stay on Disney property, I would choose any of the other hotels on the boardwalk because for all of the money you are going to pay, in my opinion, the Swan and Dolphin are not worth it. "Slightly disappointed"
My 12-year old son and I got to the hotel the first night around 9pm. We hadn't eaten dinner and were very hungry so we decided to try the buffet at The Swan, which was open until 9:30pm. It was a HUGE disappointment! The food was dry and looked like it had been under heat lamps for hours and the prime rib was cold. When I said something to the waitress […] she was very accomodating and had the kitchen replace all of the food. They brought out a hot plate to heat up the prime rib; however it was then overcooked. By this time we just wanted to get to bed . . totally not worth the price we paid. When we got to our room I noticed the towel rack was coming out of the wall, barely hanging there. It had fallen during the night and was laying on the floor the next morning. I put it on the counter thinking housekeeping would see it and it would get fixed. It stayed on the counter for the next 5 days of our stay. Also, the 2nd day into our stay I tried to use the phone but it was not working properly. I put in a request right away to get it fixed; however when we left several days later the phone was still not fixed. We decided to stay in one night and relax so we ordered pizza from "Anthony's"; which is advertised by the hotel. It would have been more tasteful eating the cardboard the pizza came on! Housekeeping didn't clearn our room one day during our stay. Staff was friendly but overall hotel was a disappointment. Going with Disney resort next time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Not a Walt Disney Hotel !"
The biggest problem we had with the Disney Swan is the fact that it is sold as a Disney hotel which it is not and therefore ground transportation from the airport to the hotel is not included. The Disney transportation to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom is spotty to say the least though it is easy to walk to both Epcot and the Studios or get a boat. There […] is a resort fee of $14 per night which covers the cost of wifi and two bottles of water. The wifi connection was the poorest I have ever experienced in any hotel and in fact I could not get on once during my stay. The other guests in my group also had a miserable time getting any wifi. The ladies on the Disney desk were helpful but the concierge service desk seemed to know less than I did about the parks and what was needed for the Extended Magic hours. Pools were nice . We were a little annoyed that our room keys did not work 2 days in a row....pain in the butt. After numerous calls and requests we NEVER did get another bottle of water from them. If you are going to charge […] me for something I sure as heck better get it. Also, the resort fee was to include internet access that we only finally got the last day and had to have their IT guy walk us through the steps to log in through the back door since the front door had "issues", also taking numerous calls and complaining to actually get someone to help...again...if you are going to charge for it make sure it is accessable. They only had 1 conciere working at a time so the lines were long to get any help, then they just made a phone call and we never did get the service requested. "Not the trip we had hoped for."
First - on a positive note - We went to the resort for a family vacation to enjoy Disney. The availability of the resort transportation to the parks, Downtown Disney and Boardwalk was superb. 1 - The room we booked on Expedia was a double queen suite. The "suite" was a really bad description. There was barely enough room for the two queen beds. The […] bathroom was smaller than most closets. There was no space for a desk or any type of couch. The small chair that was in the room, barely fit between the outer most bed and the window. there was no room between the 2nd bed and the wall. 2- The in-room safe didn't work when we got there. It took 2 days and about 7 phone calls to get it fixed. We got a (complimentary) safe deposit box down at the front desk because of the problems... it worked, but was not at all convenient. 3 - There were several "resort charges" on top of the fee paid to Expedia. This was sort of expected.... but a $14 per day fee for wireless use & in-room water (??) that we didn't want or need, plus a $15 per day self-parking fee was NOT expected. A fourth problem also arose with Expedia. I called to see if we had any options because of the room. It took quite a long while to get connected, and then after about a 3 or 4 minutes, we were disconnected and was never able to reconnect. When calling Expedia again, the wait time was extremely long, and since my family and I were there for vacation, I decided to follow up later. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I hate to give a poor review bc I liked the hotel accomodations and the convenient location, however, the fact this hotel double charged me for resort fees and parking(which I believe to be already excessive), put a very bad taste in my mouth. "Rooms ok, food is overpriced, convenient location"
While we had a wonderful view of Hollywood Studios, our room was musty and did not smell nice. The mattress sheet was not tucked under the mattress so the mattress was constantly exposed. The walk to the pool was far but the pool area was great for the kids. The food at the Garden Grove is not good, i do not recommend the buffet there, it is expensive […] for such a small selection of foods for both breakfast and dinner the "character dining" is not all that it is hyped up to be. Pool food is not too bad, our son enjoyed the chicken nuggets and Caesar salad. Disney Boardwalk was very close so we enjoyed our nightly walks for ice cream and entertainment from the magicians. You can also enjoy the fireworks at Epcot from the Boardwalk which was nice. The water taxi is very convenient! It took you straight to Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the Boardwalk. Although it's a very short walk to the Boardwalk. For the price we paid, it wasn't too bad but it could have been better, he food was too expensive and the room smelled musty the entire 4 days we were there. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, nice property, poor room."
Booked through expedia for a discounted rate. The resort is clean and nice with plenty to do, however the non-updated rooms lack everything. Our toilet rocked back and forth, the tile was from 1981, the sinks made noise, the A/C was loud and so on. Asice from the new TV in the room, this was like a time capsul to the early 80's. My kids loved the experience […] and the location is great. It would just have been nice if the room was on par with a newly build motel. We had trouble with house keeping and had to contact the front desk 3 thimes to get fresh towels. We did stay at spring break and there were two business functions. The hotel was sold out so maybe that led to our poor opinion. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I love the location of the hotel and convenience to Epcot and the Hollywood Studios. The appearance and upkeep of the hotel is very good. The beds were very comfortable and the room size was adequate for my family of four. One thing I did not enjoy was the funky smell in the room...the carpet really smelled like dirty old funky feet. Another thing that […] was inconvenient was that the hotel was doing some kind of safety check and turned the power off to the entire hotel during the exact time that my family was needing to pack, shower and get ready to check out. The hotel is in a great location. We walked to the Boardwalk, Epcot, and even Hollywood Studios. The pool is very nice...my son enjoyed the water slide and both kids loved the park. On the negative side, the restaurant choices at the hotel are very minimal. We never used the dining room...it was far from the lobby and always seemed empty. The poolside […] restaurant at the Dolphin had good food, but very poor service. The computers were apparently down (but our server never communicated this to us). We waited a long, long time for our food, a long time for my 5 year old's milk, and a very long time for the bill. We complained and the Swan ultimately reimbursed us for the lunch. However, it was clear the hotel is not Disney owned because this service is unacceptable to Disney. Next time we will pay more and stay at a Disney owned resort.
