"Nice for three day stay"
The room was smaller than our Disney Cruise mini suite, so thank God we had booked a separate hotel for our granddaughter and her parents. Bathroom unbelievably tiny. The cleanliness and friendliness of the staff made up for the flaws of an old design.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Enjoyed stay -- transportation to parks and Downtown Disney very convenient. Loved the "quiet" pool area near Arcadian and also the laundry facilities. "25 minutes to Magical Kingdom"
Port Orleans, but not really an escape. Totally themed bedsheets, wall art, tv station choices, in other words no escape from Disney, if that's what you were hoping for. Stayed in the closest and newest building on the grounds, "Oak", yet you still had to cross a bridge and walk to get to the lobby. A long ways. The bus to to Magical Kingdom was 25 […] minutes or longer each time, though never crowded, and from the bus stop at the theme park there was another 5-7 before you were in the park. The check in time was 40 minutes. The food was pretty subpar, if you were to judge it against like food (fast food, Convenience store etc) The rooms have an unstocked mini fridge, minimum toiletries, no bottled water (the tap water smells strongly of chemicals), foam rubber pillows, and an annoying air system that can only be heat or AC and does not cycle off. This means you have a constant annoying flow of hot air or freezing air. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent location & service."
We were extremely pleased. Our room was right by the bus stop, and the busses ran every 15 minutes directly to the different locations (no extra stops other than our resort). Room was very clean. Each block of buildings had their own pool and the walk to the main pool was less than five minutes away. Our pool was very private and quiet. The main pool […] had all types of games, a slide for the kids, and a bar. The food court offered a variety of food. We all ordered different things and everything was good. First stay at a Disney resort and very happy with trip. Every thing ran very well and property was perfect for our short three night get away. Very nice having shuttle boat to Downtown Disney....loved Raglans Irish Pub. Very close to Epcot (bus shuttle) which also was great. Would love to go back and stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The only issues I had were the followinng:1) thre wre only 3 check in slots open at the hotel when I arrived; 2) the only access you had to a computer was through the concierge and the lines were long unless it was late at night (i.e. for printing boarding pass) 3) I arrived olate Thursday night and there was no food available anywhere after 11:00 the […] hotel is beautiful and the rooms were very comfortable Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Disney value"
The service is outstanding at the hotel. The property has many rooms that are in quiet areas. "Nice setting"
The hotel room was clean and nice. The bathroom, well that is another story. The shower area was partially clean, there was a used bar of soap left of the soap dish. "Walt Would Be Very Disappointed"
There is no staff outside the main lobby area. The 1/4mile walk from the rooms to the food court, lobby, bus stop was an unexpected and unpleasant surprise. The food in rhe food court was unappetizing, over salted and outrageously expensive. Every thing was so expensive in Disney you felt victimized at every turn. "Only okay"
I am a huge Disneyworld fan, however, sometimes the hype around a particular hotel is a little greater than the place itself. I had heard that Port Orleans Riverside was a great hotel for honeymooners, but we are a newly married couple and it was only soso. The grounds are terrific, the building facades attractive and the buses to the parks and boat […] to Downtown Disney are ultra convenient. The room interior for the a regular room, however, is rather lackluster, with the paint and bathrooms looking like they could use an upgrade. The pillows on the bed needed replacing, the sheets were rough and the airconditioner was noisy and could not keep a steady temperature. The entire resort has only one hot tub that was full of people the entire time so we never got in it and the themed pool area and decor need upgrading. The staff (particularly housekeeping and maintenance) at Disney during this trip were also not 100% pleasant, with the exception of the concierge and front desk staff who were exceptional. I would not pay the regular rate for this hotel and would only go back if it was a real bargain. The Coronado is much better for the same price with a better pool, better food choices and more comfortable accomodations. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice Mid-Range Hotel"
I've never stayed at a Disney hotel that wasn't clean and comfortable. They are all enormous, but designed not to look that way so they aren't intimidating. Port Orleans Riverside has twenty-eight separate buildings each with, perhaps, 40 rooms (I'm guessing here.) spread out among trees and watery "bayous." We arrived too early to get into our room, […] but armed with a key and room number we parked and took a Disney bus to Hollywood Studio. When our room was available I received a text, a new tech winkle I rather enjoyed. The rooms are not large, but perfectly adequate. The bathroom is large, very nice with twin sinks. I prefer an arrangement that puts the tub/shower and toilet in a separate room from the sinks, but if privacy isn't an issue several people would not crowd the space. My only quibble: it was a long enough walk from car to room and from room to bus stop that had we brought lots of luggage or difficulty walking, this might not have been our best choice. On the other hand, we were offered the option of leaving our stuff at check in to be delivered to our room when we called to request it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Just got back from a week at Port Orleans Riverside, and we had a great time! The rooms were very nice and clean. The staff was always very helpful. "less than expected"
I booked this hotel because i was running the Disney Marathon. Shortly after we arrived and checked in I called for a 2 hour extension to our checkout time. Normal checkout was 1100 and we asked for and offered to pay for 2 hour extension as I knew how long it would take me to run and all i wanted to be able to do before we left town was to shower and […] put on clean clothes. We were told no and to go online and book a room for an additional day. I believe we were treated poorly because we did not book through Disney. Also the food was so very mediocre at the hotel though the servers were quite pleasant. The room overall was very spartan and disappointing. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Disney Resort for the Price. Great Location."
My wife and I really enjoyed out stay at Port Orleans Riverside. We had a building close to the center of the resort making it a quick walk to the pool and restaurant's and a bus stop. We loved being so close to a bus stop, the Disney transport system is wonderful and in about 20 min you are door to door to any park. The Extra Magic Park Hours at […] the park are a bonus only available to Disney Resort guests and make staying on property worth it. *MUST SEE* - Cirque du Soleil at Downtown Disney, so worth the price, we went to the 6pm performance and wanted to go back for the 9pm. We both loved it and would so recommend you see this. *PARK TIP* - Go to Animal Kingdom early, the earlier the better. The animals are more active in the morning for the Safari. Before going on the Safari, get a fast pass so once you finish it you can hop back on. The advantage is you know which animals are up and you will be better prepared for pictures. Always, always always, get the last row in the safari truck, you get the best photos because you can turn around *BONUS TIP* - Have a car? Save money on food by going off park. Head toward Downtown Disney and continue past it, about 1/2 mile you will come to a stop light. Go straight (Crossroads Shopping Center) or turn left, either way you will find better food at much lower prices. Steak n Shake for great food and inexpensive, less than $15 for two adults or try the Kobe Japanese Steak House for a great dinning experience for about $50 for two. I have been going to Disney since my kids were little. They are now over 40. I have never enjoyed a resort more than Port Orleans riverside. It has everything. The buildings are nestlesd in a forest setting with paths leading to everything. Watercrafts for rent a horse drawn carriage, fine dining, and quick serve. We took a boat ridge to downtown disney […] right from our dock. Wonderful waterslide. Disney you have done it again. I would recomend this to young and old a great place to stay. "Good value"
We booked a few months ahead of time via Expedia, after initially booking through Disney. Expedia rate beat Disney's rate (which included a 20% discount). Stayed here the week of 12/18/12 for three nights. When checking in, I reminded the girl working the desk that I had made a request for a king bed, first floor, in Magnolia Bend. The request was […] not in the system. She made a call to her manager and was able to accomodate the request. Kylie was a big help! Our room was in the corner of Magnolia Terrace with a river view, near the bridge that crosses over to Ol' Man Island. There was a pool there, as well as one next to the room. Room was clean and was very nice for the money (at least for a Disney resort room). Mattress was a little stiff and the comforter, while nice, was of no use for sleeping comfort. Since we were on the front end of our building, the hike was a little long from the parking lot and the bus depot, but could've been worse if we were in a different building. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend anyone on a budget to price out this resort before considering other Disney "moderate" resorts or staying off-site. The resort had wonderful mature landscaping and the river setting was really neat, especially at night with the lights. We ate at Boatwrights our first night there and the food was delicious and the service was good. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Stay"
We just returned from a 3 night stay at Port Orleans Riverside. The hotel is very well maintained and the grounds are beautiful. I would highly recommend this location. Room was a bit drab, and the lack of natural lighting was a bit of a downer.
