The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel was a bit run-down. Housekeeping showed up around 10:00 and I asked them to return later, but they never did. That wasn't such a big deal since we were only staying 2 nights. When I took down what looked like a fresh towel from the bathroom shelf a used bar of soap fell out of the middle of […] it. That was pretty gross. I suppose a previous guest had unrolled the towel, stuck the used soap in the middle of it, rerolled and replaced the towel on the shelf. "Nice people but not worth the cost."
When I first walked into the lobby all I could smell is the chlorine from the pool. The pool area looked dark and outdated. I was greeted nicely at the frint desk and offered a nice place to eat at a local restaurant. When I checked into the room all seemed well at first until I opened a drawer and found remnants of a prior guest. That has never happened […] to me before. The bathtub /shower area was the smallest I have ever encountered. It was clean but dingy-looking. The one good thing I will say is the staff was quite pleasant and eager to try to make my stay more pleasant. "Shabby and run down"
This is a motel with all rooms overlooking the parking lot. Our curtains wouldn't close all the way, so we had a foot wide gap. We had to shut the end in the door to block people from seeing into our room. Our tub had a very slow drain, so by the time I had finished my shower, I was more than ankle deep in water. "Stay Away"
Arrived at Quality Inn in Groton and notice refrigerator was off and the telephone was not connected. We found a maintenance person to fix this thank goodness as the rest of the night was a disaster. At 4Am awoke to use the bathroom and the toilet moved and the bottom of the tank broke. I shut off water, cut myself and we were moved to a non smoking […] room at the other end of the Inn. The room definitely was not non smoking as 1 person had an asthma attack and the other was coughing all night. The room smelled of smoke and mildew. The hotel was not considerate about the situation and not willing to give a discount or credit. They acted like we broke the tank on purpose. We were 3 adults and an 8 year old (I don;t think so). Very rude receptionist in the morning and general managers return note was not very caring.I know they would not be responsible but having more then a bandaid to put on the cut would have been nice like an antibiotic. "Decent, at first glance..."
We checked in to the Inn and found the room to be neat and tidy, at first glance. We soon found live and dead bugs in the corners of the room and in the bathroom.
