Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort & Spa

We have been to Kauai many times and this was our first time at Waipouli. We will stay here again for sure.

The Outrigger Waipouli resort is in a great location on the Eastern side of the island. It's close to several shops, restaurants, public beaches, sights and other conveniences. The rooms and grounds are beautifully maintained, however, the most disappointing aspect was the lack of service. There is no poolside food/drink service, no room service and […] no cleaning service in the rooms. There isn't any staff to greet you when you arrive and help carry luggage to your rooms. I think the management can definitely improve their service and especially hire more staff to do the work. That would help make this hotel a 5-star residence! The suites are spacious and gorgeous, just as seen on the hotel's Webpage, with amazing views and fully equipped with modern furniture and appliances. The pool is quite large and nice though the beach is short and not really meant for walking or swimming. With a few improvements in their service this resort can become one of the best places to stay on Kauai! Read more

Very nice place. Pictures on website are exactly how hotel looks. Had kitchen nicely stocked with cleaning supplies and hotel had already planned 2 days of mid-week cleaning visits while we were there.

I had confirmed a 2 bedroom unit. I also confirmed with Expedia that one room have 2 beds in it and that there was a pull out sofa since I have three boys. Our unit did not have the second bedroom with the 2 beds. We were told that the hotel could not have guaranteed that. One of the boys had to sleep on an air matress until they could switch are room […] which wasnt done until the third night. We left that day for the beach and were told our belongings would be moved for us into the new room. We returned at 8:30 pm and our belongings were not in the room. We had to wait in wet bathing suits for about 45 minutes until they got there. The unit was very clean and nicely furnished. The pool is great for young kids. The two bedrrom condos are nice and big. Everything is very new, great appliances... Our kids loved the pool area. But they are cleaning the condos only every 3rd day and not very well. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel room is quite spaceous and fairly clean. The cleaning staff needs to do a better job. I stayed there for 4 days and was given one small tube of shampoo! One of the two toilets ran out of paper!

Enjoyed the hospitality of the staff. The room was terrific with kitchen and outdoor table and chairs. I only have 2 complaints. The beach is to rocky to swim and the hotel restraunt was separate from the property you couldn't add a drink or meal to your room.

My family of 4 stayed at this condo resort. The room was great; full kitchen, very nice interior. The pool was great; waterslides for the kids and fantastic sand bottom jacuzzis for the adults. Would have been nice to have a lagoon pool since the beach was not swimmable. We usually stay in Poipu and are used to the resort atmosphere. This was a wonderful place to stay with a few exceptions. 1. The first 3 x's we had the room cleaned everything was fine . this was a light cleaning. Although one time they made the bed and didnt put pillows back on the bed. (they were on the floor) also they didnt wipe anything down as I expected they would. A. They made up for this little thing (pillows […] n tables) as I left a nice note to needing some splenda, and additional shampoo.So all in all no biggie! 2. If you are a smoker there really wasn't many places to have a smoke. But that is Hawaii state wide.They could have set a bench or two near a ashtray. 3. Don"t go to the onsite restaruant if you are hungry..To fancy n small serving for a normal person Had to get the hubby a grinder n cheesecake after we ate there. : ( 4. My 5 year-old daughter loved the pool slide, however, you have to enjoy it before 6:00 pm because that's when the pool service ends. Also, if you are planning activities outside the hotel and need beach towels make sure you get the towels before 6:00 pm the day before because pool towels may not be available at 8:00 am (pool hours 8: am - 6: pm). The […] kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc... The only thing I think the hotel can improve on is the room cleaning. We stayed 6 days and the suite was not vacumed at all, some of the trash was left on the floor and the tub was not cleaned either. We had to ask for towels 3 times because we were shorted on towels. Was a beautiful place, the rooms were fantastic and the best kitchen area ever. We did come back twice from activites, wanting a hot shower only to find our room had not been clean! But they were there within minutes of calling. We were told on arrival, oh there is a Safeway grocery store right across the street to shop, we purchased 4 small paper bagers, […] over 200 dollars. We did not notice till later that we were charged $12 for a head of lettuce!!!! They charge by the pound! Rie Krispie cereal was $6.99 a box!. But there is a Wal-Mart not far, we had a rental car, our fault for not asking. They have a ant problem, but the entire Island does, wasn't too bad. In fact we refused first rental car, due to opening the back door and a mound of ants about a foot high in door, no one is concerned and they say they don't bite? Would stay here again, pool is awesome, as well as a coy pond they have. The beach is bad out back, it's like walking in quicksand, really you just sink, plus very rough waves! Our only complaint was the very dirty kitchen floor, which I discovered when I spilled water on the floor and wiped it up with a paper towel. Oh yes, and the living room furniture has seen better days. An update in this regard would help a lot. However, the beds were comfortable, the flat screen televisions worked well and the bathrooms were roomy. […] Housekeeping comes every day and they change the sheets every third day. Housekeeping comes in teams of 3 and unless they are changing sheets, they are in and out in less than 5 minutes. Considering the condition of the floors, a few more minutes of cleaning would have been appreciated. Oasis, the restaurant on the premises, was excellent and the cocktails were as well. The Outrigger is located very close to Hapa'a, a great little town with lots of shops. A Safeway and a Foodland is located across the street from the Outrigger but both are expensive. Ahi at Safeway was $15.99/pound. In Hapa'a we found a local grocery store with wonderful ahi steaks for $6.99/pound, as well as Kauai beef - we got a huge Porterhouse steak for under $10. This store is across the street from the youth hostel. From the outside it looks like a warehouse - well worth your time to find it. We had a wonderful vacation in Kauai. The resort would have been outstanding if not for a few flaws. 1) Room wasnt ready upon arrival. OK, we came early, but went out again to come back for check in at 3PM. Still not ready... 2) Pots and pans are extremely limited despite a nice kitchen (why have a kitchen if there is next to no utensils) - not a good […] place to save. 3) Do not pay for an ocean front room if you are placed on ground floor - you cannot see the ocean anyway due to the bushes in front. That was a big disappointment. 4) Bottle with leftover cigarette buts left outside the window. Other than that, the condo was very nice (beds a bit too soft for my taste), pool a lot of fun for the kids and location fantastic for excursions to all areas of Kauai. This is a 5 star resort. Everything from the rooms to the grounds to the pool area were very well maintained and clean. The rooms had every convenience you could possibly ask for. There are grills in the pool area. I would definitely love to return here again.

Outrigger was a clean, modern, and convenient location. We had a two bedroom ocean view and a quite area. I liked having a full kitchen to cook in, a washer and dryer, and two deep soaking tubs that were used daily. The desk staff did their job good enough but they were not very nice. The desk clerk was very short and never smiled. I figured if I was on vacation and renting from this company they would be more inviting and thankful for my renting. When we stayed 3 years ago, we received free coffee and laundry soap stocked in our room, during this stay we had to […] pay for it. They did give us an upgraded room when I asked for it, but they were also rude about it and seemed put out. At the end of the stay they told us that the guest bedroom in our room was supposed to be locked and since we used the room we were going to have to pay for it. My husband and I had to argue with the staff that the bedroom was not locked and we weren't aware we couldn't go in the room. This hotel is very pretty and updated but next time we visit Kauai we will go to a place that appreciates our business. Read more

三回目の宿泊になります。以前の二回はホテルのサービスも快適でしたが、今回はシステムが変わってしまったのかタイムシェア的なサービスに変わってしまっていました。毎日の掃除、タオルの交換、ベッドメイキング、ゴミ捨ても有料でした。ホテルとして予約したつもりでいたので驚きました。部屋はゆったりとしているし目の前にショッピングセンターがあるのでお気に入りのコナドミニアムです。

母親と妻とで3人で泊まりました。目の前にSafewayがあり、夕飯は、そこで食材を購入し、コンドで簡単に作って頂きました。　とても楽しかったです。 風が強く、海には入れませんでしたが、ノースショアへのドライブへも立地もよかったと思います。 コンドに、海やプールで遊べる浮き輪、シュノーケリングセットなどが置いてあり、親切だと思いました。 但し、各棟にエレベータは無く、チェックイン時にもその説明は無く、F棟でしたが、隣のE棟のエレベータから上がる、というのを発見するまで多少手間取りました
