Kahanu Bar and Grill - Open-air dining is available poolside, with sandwiches, snacks, and beverages served. Open from late morning until sunset.
Kuhio Lounge - Guests enjoy tropical drinks and appetizers in this bar located adjacent to Palms restaurant. Open from late afternoon until late evening.

A cheap hotel in Hawaii? This was but we got what we paid for. Awful beds, safe not working, ice machine not working and not even the rooms we wanted. BUT...the location made it worth it! Right on the beach for that price was crazy! The staff was incredibly unfriendly and they didn't clean one of our rooms. " the cleaner can come now but she leaves […] in a few minutes so?" That was the best they could do? This was after a long day out and about. So, if you are not in your room at all and you aren't picky in least...stay here. It was a convenient place to stay on the south side of the island - not too far to many of the things we wanted to do there. The facility is getting old, and it shows around the edges. For what we paid, it was a good value, and certainly the staff works hard to make your stay pleasant and keep everything as clean as possible. The mattress was so old that it had a permanent curve in it. The AC was old and did not cool the room. The internet only worked in the lobby. The DVD movies that you had to pay for, no choice were scratched, and did not work. we went thru ten movies just to get one to work. it is not worth saving money with these type of issues. This hotel is older but holds on to it's many benefits that other places do not offer or charge more for. free parking, late checkout, early check-in, etc. The pools are small and old but are only good for a quick dip. "Liked it a lot"
We really liked this hotel. It is a little dated, but is generally well maintained, although we had a hard time opening our patio door - I think the sea air has caused some corrosion. The hotel maintenance man came quickly and sorted it out. We paid a little extra for an ocean view room, and it was well worth it. The view from our room was exceptional, […] over Wailua Bay. Hard to find a better view anywhere. We heard that the rooms on the other side of the building (near the decorative pools) had mosquitoes, but we had none. Almost none of the rooms have lanais (balconies) which is something of a disappointment. But the extensive grounds are nicely landscaped so one can sit out of doors. The swimming pool area can be windy if the trade winds are blowing. We were disappointed that the safe pools on lovely Lydegate beach are closed for 5 weeks for dredging. The surf has been very high, so it has been a challenge to find a good beach for weak swimmers. The surf and currents on Lydegate beach were too fierce. The hotel is very well soundproofed. We never heard any noise (such as of toiltets flushing or TV noise) from other rooms. The bed was firm and comfortable. Another nice thing was that there was noboby at the pool trying to persuade you to buy drinks all the time. The service was there when needed but very laid back. There is free wifi in the very attractive lobby area. There is a nice bar and restaurant deck, but the dinner food was not especially good. "Aston Aloha: I couldn't wait to say Aloha"
This hotel intrigued me by the proximity to the ocean and nearby park, the amenities and the price. It was a bit further away from Lihue than we would have liked, but we only needed it for one night. When we arrived, the front desk put us in a room that they said we would like better. However, there was loud music playing from the nearby park pavilion […] (it was after 10pm) and my family was tired from a day of traveling. The loud music from this party made it difficult to sleep for my wife. The next morning, my daughter and I went for a swim and discovered that the hotel does NOT heat their outdoor swimming pool. It was very cold and uncomfortable. When we checked with the front desk about breakfast options, the desk agent told me to go to "McDonald's" in Kapa'a town; she did not know there were three restaurants on the property. There is also no wifi in the rooms: you must bring your laptop to the front lobby to access the internet. Also, the elevator was only large enough for three people --- not a large amount of luggage too! And the luggage cart provided was dilapadated and rickety: too small for anything besides two carry ons. The one at the Hyatt Place we stayed at the night before was larger and in better condition. "Aston Aloha Beach, Kauai-especially great for kids"
The Aston Aloha Beach is easy to get to from the airport, just a straight shot up the highway. It has a beautiful lobby with free wi-fi and an enormously friendly staff. The rooms are clean and well furnished (besides a bed, there was a couch, desk and chair and a fridge), and it has pools, a hot tub and 3 restaurants. Best of all it overlooks Lydgate […] Park which is a county park with picnic area, a huge playground and man made lagoons for snorkeling and swimming. Because of the rock perimeter there are no waves in the lagoon to knock down the little ones and it is a great place for young kids to learn to snorkel. All in all, my family loved staying at this hotel, the kids because of the easy access to the park and the grownups because of all of the amenities on site and the outstanding staff. "Aloha Beach Hotel - Gone down Hill"
This was the 3rd stay in last 5 years. In a part that had been renovated in last 3 years the bathroom tile was broken and repaired badly. our OCEAN VIEW room had very DIRTY Windows. The Waterfall and water way that had alway been a great feature was filled with Algie, no fish, and waterfall was a haphazard affair. "OK Hotel in Least Interesting Part of Kauai"
The Aston Aloha Beach is an older hotel that has been kept up reasonably well. Our room was clean and it had A/C which worked well enough to keep it cool and dry. There was a small fridge to keep drinks cool. A/C and a fridge are my two requirements before booking any room on the islands. The biggest downside to this hotel is its location. Compared […] to other areas of Kauai, it is relatively inexpensive to stay here but if you're interested in Waimea Canyon, the lush north shore and the Napali Coast, or the Poipu area, you're not particularly close to any of them. Perhaps you are thinking, "Why not just drive to them? How big can Kauai be?" Well, you can use part of each day to drive to the more interesting locations but particularly in the case of the north shore and Napali Coast, if you don't get there relatively early in the morning, you will not be able to park. It's a huge convenience to be near where you want to spend your day. What you are close to while staying at this hotel is Walmart, Costco, Kmart, and fast food joints that all provide some relief from the high prices on the islands. This is nice but my advice is still to stop at Walmart on your way to some place more interesting. Bottom line: We were on Kauai for five days: two in Princeville and three here. I wish I would have stayed another day in Princeville and then spent the last two near Poipu. It would have cost more but it would have been worth it for us. Aloha. The location of the hotel could make it a four star but now it is barely a 2 star. The structure is inviting but the place is run down. Allt du behöver finns på plats, bad i havet, pool, restaurang, fin miljö pga. stor resort nere vid havet., trevlig och service inriktad personal etc. Välj dock ett rum med havsutsikt. Fick ett rum på nedre botten mot trädgård som stank mögel men vi behövde inte mer än att säga till om detta förrän de fixade ett nytt rum som ver mycket frächt och bäst […] av allt med havsutsikt. Bra läge på ön för att ta sig till olika sevärdheter men du måste ha hyrbil på denna ö för att få ut det bästa. Nackdelen med hotellet skulle vara att det är i behov av renovering lite här och där då åren satt sina spår med ex. flagnad färg etc. men den exkulusiva resort den var en gång för många år sedan kan man dock uppleva. "Das Aston Aloha Beach Hotel ist sehr schön!"
Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Ocean View und waren total begeistert vom Zimmer und der Lage. Wir hatten auch Blick auf die Napili Beach, vom Lärm direkt vom Strand bekommt man nur sehr wenig mit. Der Weg zur Beach ist kurz und es gibt mehrere Duschen. Das Zimmer ist sehr schön eingerichtet und die Küche ist in einem Top-Zustand mit Geschirrwaschmaschine. […] Der Garten und Poolbereich sind auch sehr schön und können bis 22Uhr benützt werden. Es gibt neue Barbeque-Grille und das Restaurant war auch gut. "Aston Aloha Beach -Fint hotell, om du har bil!"
Hotellet är fint med stor trädgård, två pooler med solstolar och härlig havsutsikt. Hotellet ligger avskilt, det finns inga affärer eller restauranger nära. Bron mellan samhället och hotellet var under reparation och det var mad livet som insats man försökte promenera utmed stora vägen. Det finns en lunchbar med hamburgare och smörgåsar (stänger 3 pm) […] och en restaurang med höga priser och få rätter (stänger 8pm). Stannar man på hotellet en längre tid behöver man bil för att få lite omväxling i kosten! Stranden är jättefin med skyddade barnvänliga badområden. Roliga och spännande lekplatser för de yngre barnen finns också vid stranden. Det finns en tennisbana men den är i dåligt skick och man måste ha egna racketar.
