Very impressed with all aspects. Splurged on ocean view and our view was outstanding, Second or third floor is the best view by far. Great ammenities and supplies in the room were wonderful. Very nice dishes, silverware, frig, microwave and coffee pot. Enjoyed breakfast on the balcony after awesome sunrises each day. Great location and beautiful grounds. […] Very small tip...they give you coffee each day as part of the "fee". Good flavor, but weak and only makes 2-3 cups and they charge for additional packets. Hotel is a great location about half-way to all the sights and locations that you may want to see visiting the island of Kauai. About 1-2 hours north to Princeville, Hanalei Bay, Tunnels Beach, etc. About 1-2 hours south to Port Allen, Hanapepe, Poipu, etc. We picked this location because we knew we wanted to go all over the island. We stayed January […] 31st through February 5th. We had 2 different rooms during our stay (due to reservations we made). The first room's air conditioner was permanently ON and therefore our room was about 60 degrees the entire time. We shut it off using the electonic remote control and it was still running full-tilt. Our second room was better temperature wise. The doors to not seal shut and we could see light thorugh the crack of the entry door in our first room (which was on the 1st floor). The decor is blah, has not been updated for over a decade or two. The "queen" beds are double beds, which are very small for 2 people, and my husband and I are very slight build. The lighting in the room and bathroom is dim. The parking at the hotel is VERY limited and we had to get a pass every evening to park off-property and not be towed. The hotel staff is unfriendly and do not welcome you, thank you for your stay, and do not come to the desk when they see you waiting there to ask a question. This happened to us several times. Overall - We would not stay here again. We would stay nearby but had a poor experience at the Aston Islander. Read more

This was a nice hotel to stay at, it was located close to a market for shopping and the room was decent. Upon checkin we reserved an ocean view and got upgraded to an ocean front. Yeah, the parking was a little crazy at night, but the security team at the hotel is there to help out with finding a space if you cant find one.

Good location, next to the beach and easy to get to the north or south shores from. The beach was too rocky for wave play, but the hotel is close to better nearby beaches. The staff was friendly and the room was confortable. Air conditioning is a big plus!

We only stayed one night at the Aston Islander, but would glady go back again and stay again for a longer period of time. The hotel was excellent in all areas. We reserved a city-view room and were upgraded to the city-view suite on the 17th floor. The staff made us feel very much at home. Highly recommended!

Overall the hotel is good: good location, closed to the ocean, there is laundry, wifi at the reception. A few minuses: - No wifi in the room, internet via cable - cold stone floor - sometimes it was difficult to find a free parking slot, but we found anyway, sometimes with a help of a parking clerk.

Pool is no good and Bed was old. Felt like bed and pillows were 10 years old and was kinda gross. Felt like bed bugs were on us all night. Beach rooms have great sunrise though. They need new bedding and it would've been ok for the price if you don't want a nice beach or pool to hang out at.

this was my third stay here. Very laid back, polite staff, clean rooms. Beach very private, often only two or three others. Grounds well kept. For the price this is a great bargain. My favorite island due to far less people although beaches as whole are not great. I will be going back!

I really liked the Islander. Although probably not for everyone, it met my needs. It didn't have all the amenities to make it a 4 star hotel. Although this hotel is right on the beach, there is very little to no swimming here due to rough ocean currents and reefs. However you can walk along a beach path and enjoy the view and swim at the pool. You can find a small area along the beach to at least get wet.

We chose the most expensive "Ocean view" option of 3 options ("ocean view", "partial ocean view", "garden view") and were given a room across the courtyard behind the pool and garden, NOT in either of the two buildings closest to the […] water with a full ocean view. The lanai was wide and had a screen door so we could keep the door wide open to fall asleep to the sound of the waves all night. The bed was comfortable and everything looked clean and comfortable. The day we checked out we had all day until 8 p.m. until our flight left. Although they had no room for us to shower or get ready in later they were very accomodating about giving us towels, bathroom access, and all facility access. The location on the beach was great. My husband and I kept saying that next time we visit Kauai we would come back to this hotel. The price was great! the grounds were to die for and we stayed at a ocean view room. Hotel grounds were excellent, the adjoining market area shows signs of the recession so there are a lot of empty shops. Around 1mile to get to conveinence stores. Book a car at the airport for your stay, public transport is virtually non existant.

Lovely hotel with true beach frontage. Good pool and excellent whirlpool/spa with bar services (includes Happy Hour for cocktails & beer). Whilst you couldn't really swim safely at the beach because of rocks just under the waterline, it didn't matter - you could still walk along the sand for long stretches. Hint: bring your reef-walkers though or purchase […] them locally. Our beachfront room was well equipped with small kichenette in main room with cutlery & crockery provided, a good size fridge, a microwave and coffee-maker (satisfactory for boiling water for those who prefer tea or instant coffee). The Coconut Marketplace which is just outside the hotel complex appears to have lost a few vendors recently due to closure, however, a wide variety of shops such as Foodland, an ABC Store and many other take-away outlets such as McDonalds & Pizza Hut are all within walking distance (5-10 minutes depending on how fast you like to walk). We had a great stay and wish we had booked for longer. P.S. ideally you need a car for this island, however, the local bus comes by every hour. The SpeediShuttle is also a cheaper alternative than taxis for transport to/from Lihue Airport and to/from tour companies based in Harbor Mall - try to book ahead because they often get busy. Nous avons adoré notre passage de 3 nuits au Aston Islander on the Beach. Nous avions réservé une chambre "Ocean Front" et ça valait la peine. La chambre donnait directement sur la mer et le soir on s'endormait avec le bruit des vagues. La chambre était grande et très propre. Personnel courtois et souriant. La localisation de l'hotel fait en sorte qu'on […] peut très bien visiter le nord ou le sud de l'ile et revenir en fin de journée à l'hotel. On a également beaucoup apprécié prendre le "happy hour" à notre hotel sur le bord de la piscine qui a un service de bar jusqu'à 21h. La section Barbecue nous a permis également de nous faire notre souper directement à l'hotel. Bref, super beau séjour! Read more

This is an ok hotel, not bad, neither anything extra. But that's OK, because in Kauai, you don't stay in at the hotel, you explore the island! The location is good for driving both to the north and sounth of the island, where the best beaches are. The beach near the hotel was not for swimming, the waves were too big. Suveræn beliggenhed 15 min. fra lufthavn og direkte ud til stranden/havet. Stranden ikke særligt egnet for badning, men flot udsigt med små havskildpadder helt tæt på vandkanten hver eftermiddag. Poolområde med lille pool og jetspa, men aldrig overrendt. Bemærk 3 stk. Weber gasgrills til rådighed for tilberedning af egen mad. Ingen restaurant på hotellet, […] kun en poolbar, med begrænset åbningstid og opskruede priser, højere end på Waikiki Beach, som jeg ellers troede var dyr. Men det var så OK og et plus, at kunne medbringe egne drikkevarer ved poolen. Tæt på (gå-afstand) center med butikker og grillbarer. Flere butikker og restauranter i nærheden. Værelset (Ocean-front) nydeligt indrettet og i pæn stand, med køleskab, mikroovn og kaffebrygger. Personalet i reception virkede ikke specielt kundemindede og hilste sjældent, men vi havde heldigvis ikke behov for deres service. Alt i alt var vi tilfredse med vort ophold. Read more
