I have never done a review of anything online before, but I wanted to write about the Henlopen Hotel because our family experience was wonderful. Everything in the hotel worked and the rooms were clean, but it's true that the hotel could probably use some renovation. Renovation or not, however, the hotel experience was not diminished. The views from […] rooms were incredible and the balconies were wide and had chairs to sit down on to enjoy the ocean. I thought the breakfast was great. While fresh fruit would be welcomed, what was on offer sufficed for a morning of relaxation. The staff were really kind and helpful. If I wanted information on restaurants they were a wealth of information and more than happy to go online for more information if needed. When I arrived at the door with too many things, someone was there to open the door. I don't know if I've ever stayed at a place with kinder staff, and I travel regularly. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a gorgeous view and appreciates kind and generous staff. Read more

Oceanfront balcony made this the best vacation ever. September weather was perfect to open balcony door with cool ocean breezes. We lucked out completely! Booked a standard room and the girls at the front desk upgraded us to a King Bed with an oceanfront view! Aside from that they had to be the nicest staff we'd ever encountered in a hotel. The rooms were beautiful and had a wicked shower! Had a great time!

I think that the Hotel provided a friendly front desk and housekeeping staff who were helpful and courteous to providing information and catering to my needs as a guest. The stay was relaxing from the point of check in and I enjoyed spending time in the hotel very much. The amenities and accomodations exceeded my expectations and the guests rooms, bathrooms […] were exceptionally clean and stocked properly. The location was perfect for us to go to the beach and access the boardwalk for shopping and dining or beach activities since everything was within walking distance. The only issue we had was the wireless beach access wifi which went down a few times during our stay. We were happy with the wide variety of healthy foods, breakfast bars, cereals, juice, coffee, bagels, poptarts, muffins for the complimentary breakfast, the oceanfront view from our balcony, the beds, cleanliness, professional staff and security. The hotel was wonderful. Right on the boardwalk. It was far enough away from the hustle and bustle to be quiet, but close enough to walk to the main drags without trouble. The oceanfront room provided the most amazing views and sleeping with the sliding glass door open all night allowed us to fall asleep to the waves crashing. This is an older facility. If you go into it knowing that you will be very pleased with the location. Both times we stayed there the rooms were nicely updated and clean. We always have found the staff kind and helpful. This is still our overall favorite place to vacation at.

HOTEL IS JUST ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BOARDWALK FROM THE BEACH. IT'S JUST A SHORT WALK (FEW BLOCKS) FROM THE CENTER OF THE BOARDWALK. WE REALLY ENJOYED IT.
