"it was okay but could have been better"
Hotel bedroom look really cool online but when you get there its really downplayed when you first start experiencing your problems. when we first got in the room we had to call maintenance twice once for the overhead bed lighting not working and second time we had to get a crash course lesson on how to operate the AC unit ,which surprisingly the unit […] is not as easily operable to use as your home AC or heating unit. The bathroom door was very annoying actually it was a sliding glass door which squeak very loudly especially at night when you're sound asleep and one of you goes to the bathroom just to waken up to a loud squeaking noise. hotel is only for sleep , party and passing out because its in the central location of the epicenter where there's plenty of partying going on and if you bring food to the room there's no microwave and there's no microwave on any of the floors so you would have to take the elevator down to the lobby where everybody is drinking , playing a game of pool and thats just so very inconvenient , oh and that goes for if you wanting ice too. and the biggest complaint that I have was all the staff at the hotel was unfriendly and not hospitable at all. if you're going to pay over a hundred dollars a day for a room I want to see the staff crack a smile and act like they care. "Had a great time at Aloft"
I stayed for my birthday the weekend of April 12 and had a very pleasant stay. Close and convenient to everything and a fun energetic vibe. Could even hang out and play pool in lobby over looking Suite with full bar. "Unexpected"
I read the reviews prior to booking and I noticed most parties complained about the bed comfort and surrounding noise. Those 2 issues weren't that bad maybe due to reading reviews I was prepared and expected worse. 1)The room wasn't clean; from the fixtures to the floor residue was visible everywhere. 2) This is 2012 and the only existing ice machine […] is at the check in booth. I stayed on the 8th :( major Inconvenience! 3) I witnessed the maid clean my room and she didn't change my sheets, or clean any surface areas. The only plus was obviously location! "Great location!"
Overall, our stay was very pleasant! The hotel is very close to anything and everything you would want to see in the city. Its also very convenient to the Panther's stadium, which we loved! The staff was very friendly and we loved the room! The parking was a small issue as you have to pay a rather large sum to have someone park your car or you can drive […] around to the public parking deck, which is connected to the hotel and is cheaper; however, elevator use and finding the correct elevators wasn't as easy as it could be. Great location! Room was acceptable. It had a few stains on the carpet and headboard. A little dusty I assumed because of non-use. Used clorex wipes. Bedding and shower were clean, too. "Close to downtown"
The hotel was great after we found it. Very difficult to locate. Did not like having to take two elevators in and out of hotel. Lobby is on 5th floor. "Great Location!!!"
We went up for the USC Gamecocks season opening and this hotel was right in the heart of everything. Friendly staff, great rooms, and terrific location. "Worst hotel experience EVER"
Do not be lured by the location. We booked queen beds months in advance an they gave us a king. We had 4 ppl!!! I said that this was unacceptable and they said sorry it's not our fault! We got to the room and they said we'd get a queen air mattress and we got no mattress. By the time they brought us one all they had left was a twin. So 1 person slept […] on the floor. There were no towels in our room and the bathrooms lights did not work, seriously they had 1 desk lamp to use in place of the regular lights. The blow dryer tripped the breaker so we had to way to get that fixed and then I tried to finish blow drying my hair and it tripped again! I complained several times at the front desk and mgmt never showed up to hear me out. This place is terrible and someone should be held accountable however their tag line should be it is out fault as that is all anyone said. "Aloft in Charlotte -very close to Time Warner"
This hotel is in a great location especially if you are going to a show at the Time Warner Arena. There were plenty of restaurants and bars in walking distance. We took the train to Charlotte and after a short cab ride we didn't need to take any other transportation until we headed back to the train station. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. […] The only downside to our stay was the elevators. One out of two was out and the elevators are shared by a couple of businesses. After a night out it took 35 minutes for an elevator to come and take us up to the hotel main floor. Also, by the time the elevators would come there would be so many people waiting, especially with luggage everyone couldn't fit and then the wait was even longer. "AC Sucks and filled with Drunks"
Do not stay at this hotel on a friday or saturday. It's filled with drunks that go to the epicenter. The walls are paper thin. All night you get to hear fire trucks, ambulances, drunks running up the hallway, etc. No security to monitor this behavior. The AC SUCKED. "Worst Hotel Experience of My Life"
I went to Charlotte for an event at the Time Warner Arena and I picked this hotel because it was the closest (this was a terrible mistake). We booked a hotel room for 3 people with 2 queen beds on hotels.com. The service we received was HORRIBLE throughout our entire stay. First, we were told when we got there that, because we booked on a third-party […] site, the hotel does not care about us and we are only there to fill in the gaps (they literally told us this). Instead of the room we booked with 2 beds, we were placed in a room with only 1 bed for 3 people. When we arrived in our room on the 7th floor, there was a band setting up on a rooftop bar directly underneath our window. We called the front desk and we were told that all noise would cease at 10:30pm due to the proximity with the hotel. Boy, was this wrong. At 2:15 am, we were woken up to screaming people and club music outside our window and at the same time a party on our hall that we could hear from our room on the opposite side of the building. When we called down to the front desk, instead of receiving good customer service saying "I'm sorry you were woken up at 2:15 in the morning. Let me see what I can do about that" they actually said, "We can't control what happens outside of our hotel." Only after I explained that Charlotte had a noise ordinance that was surely in effect at 2:15 am would they agree to do anything. The noise finally died down around 3:15am. Do NOT stay here!!
