The room reminded my husband and me of places we stayed with family a few decades ago (as kids), but a bit more cheerful. Clean, comfy, no noise problems... (I followed another reviewer's advice to opt for an upstairs room; don't know whether it mattered), convenient do-it-yourself breakfast including decent coffee and congenial hosts and guests. Overall, I liked it better than the chain hotel we stayed at a couple years ago. We didn't interact with the staff much, but I felt they'd be there if we needed them. Everyone was very nice. It was very very clean. And the retro style was cute. Do not expect any views. But within walking distance of down town Sturgeon Bay!

My husband and I (along with my parents) stayed here From Oct 2 - Oct 6, 2011 and had a fantastic time. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Loved the 50's decor and the cleanliness. The towels were not old and threadbare, the bed was so comfortable (we had a choice of down or fiberfill pillows) and the sheets were great! Perfect breakfast […] in the morning (help yourself to fresh hard-boiled eggs, cold cereal, oatmeal, toast, bagels, croissants, donuts and sweet rolls - plus coffee, OJ and apple juice). The open mic singers were a nice additional amenity for a summer night. My family loved the chance to stay in a 50s themed hotel and the location is right off 3rd Avenue where all the stores and restaurants are located. We stayed 2 nights. Loud talking at 6 A.M. Noise travels in this place. There was a gas smell in room, it went away after we complained. Morning coffee was bad & no creamer for it ! I would not stay here again.

Liebevoll ausgestattete Zimmer im Stil der 50er/60er Jahre. Super gepflegt. Nettes Personal. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis gut. Lage mitten in der (sehr beschaulichen) Innenstadt mit einigen, wenigen Restaurants etc. Von uns nicht in Anspruch genommen: Im Hotel gibt es Musik-Sessions, zu denen wir auch eingeladen wurden - zum Zuhören oder Mitspielen!
