I needed a place to stay when I visiting LA area for a friend's birthday. The Towne Place was convenient to where the party was and where my friend lives so that's why I chose it. In the room I stayed, television placement is such that remote does not connect if you are lying in bed so you have to hold arm out […] weirdly to change channels. We had a wonderful stay at TownPlace Suites by Marriott in Thousand Oaks. Check in was fast. Clean hallways and parking. I smile everytime I get in the building because it smells good! Our studio was clean, fresh and new. For a germophobe like me, I was impressed! Staff was helpful and even called us in our room after we've unpacked to check if everything […] is ok. Free WiFi, breakfast and parking. My husband and I are not heavy breakfast eaters but coffee lovers, so their selections for breakfast was okay for us but not their coffee, so we just got it from a nearby Starbucks. I would suggest adding a microwave at the toaster station to heat up the hard boiled eggs or at least serve them on a warmer/chafing dish. This hotel is close to restaurants like Chili's, In N' Out and Starbucks, and is also close to The Oaks shopping mall that has Macy's, Nordstom and JCPenney. Read more

We only stayed here because the Marriott Courtyard next door (which we love) was full. Overall, the room was on the shabby side especially the sofa. Bed was uncomfortable (Sealy mattress). Only 2 bath towels on checking in; they brought some wash cloths and a bath mat when I asked for more--no hand towels. Large rooms, clean, quiet hotel and friendly staff. I came for 3 days and stayed much longer. There are few restaurants in a near by plaza. The hotel is 1 mile from the Oaks shopping mall.

After running around Disney for 3 days, and playing in LA, it was so nice to come to this hotel with a quiet neighborhood, and more relaxed feel. We got a 2 room suite, which the kids loved (and we did too!). The staff were super-nice, the rooms were pretty clean and comfortable, but had a very "lived-in" feel. It was cold and rainy when we visited, […] so I asked the hotel manager what to do in LA during rain. She was very helpful, and had a great attitude about my questions. The breakfasts were basic (muffins, fruit, bagels, etc.) but it was just fine! For dinner/lunch, there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance (including a great cafe right across the parking lot). Room very comfortable and nice desk to work at with several electrical outlets and hard wired internet access. Wireless Internet was great, fast and easy to connect. Breakfast adequate, not as good as Homewood/EmbassyResidence Inn. Heater/Refrigerator a bit noisy at night. Smaller place and front desk sometimes not manned.

With some other hotels in the area charging way more, we expected TownePlace Suites to be a bit of a dive. We were shocked at what a nice, clean and friendly hotel it turned out to be! The staff were accessible, friendly, and generally warm & helpful. The room was extremely comfortable, the location was beautiful, and the price was unbeatable!

This is a great hotel. Very quiet and near the Starbucks and Vons. I agree with a previous writer, it is hard to find. It is on a hill behind a small shopping center and the driveway signage is small. It is easier to see the Marriot Courtyard next door.

We use this hotel because it accepts pets. In the past it has never had a pet odor but this time the hallways and stairwells were not fresh smelling. The room was very clean and the carpets in the room were fresh. It's a branch of Marriott so it's an upper class hotel and overall very nice.

From the start the hotel was overrun with unattended children coming in and out of the pool area and screaming up and down the halls. At least it occurred during the middle of the day but it did make it difficult to take an afternoon nap. I ironed an iron safe dress for a special event and it left rust/hard water stains on my dress - It is completely […] ruined as dry cleaning did not fix it. $200 dress down the drain. The hotel did offer to pay $10 to clean the dress or clean the dress if we waited around in the morning for it to be cleaned. First of all, I'm staying one night and have things to do, so it makes NO sense for us to wait around on your mistake. Secondly, dry cleaning didn't get rid of the rusted out iron stains. The elevator going down to the main entrance/front desk was broken. I had recently sprained my ankle and this made the experience quite painful walking up and down 3 flights of stairs. There was an additional elevator on the other side of the building but it still required me walking up at least one flight of stairs and ALL the way around to the other side of the building and once up the elevator ALL the way back around to our room. ust as painful a walk as taking the 3 flights of stairs. While the room had a nice kitchenette, the floor plan was lacking. The bathroom door didn't open all the way and opened right up to the bed. Really? You couldn't even plan for a door to clear the area next to the bed all the way? Even if the door did clear the bed, it wouldn't have cleared the bed stand behind it. The 3/4 times I went to the front desk nobody was there. There is a little room behind the desk and it appears that there is a camera there to see if people walk up but alas nobody came out of the little room to help. Overall not a great experience - was hoping for better with such a new hotel! Read more
