Was a good place to spend the night, beds were very comfortable for my wife and myself. Stayed here because hotels are too expensive on the weekends in Galveston, wasn't very far at all from Galveston. Breakfast was a little more than the usual continental, had some microwavable breakfast sandwiches and pancake sausage sticks. Would stay here again […] for sure. My room had a soft, comfortable mattress, was quiet and had everything I needed. Next door is a Ryan's, but in the Guest Services book, there was a recommendation for the Reef Seafood Restaurant that was close by and very good. The front desk staff was excellent. They welcomed us in and out of the property on each occurance. The breakfast was a nice change from the usual contiental breakfast. Gloria at the front desk went above and beyond to see that we were well taken care of. We really enjoyed our stay. Very nice clean hotel. I wish there could have been a fridge and microwave but it wasnt our main concern. The girls at the front desk were very sweet and welcoming. We use this hotel for every cruise we take out of Galveston as it is less expensive than those in Galveston and only a few miles from the cruise terminal! We stayed at this Fairfield on our recent trip to Galveston, hoping to avoid Galveston prices, which we did. It's not a bad drive from the island. There's a Ryan's next door and an IHOP across the freeway (which has terribly slow service). The room was clean and well-maintained, but when we got back to the hotel late after a long, hot day, we found […] that housekeeping had not been to our room. The front desk clerk said that housekeeping wasn't available at night, so she moved us to a different room. The tub in that room didn't drain, but we were so tired we decided not to make an issue of it. They're skimpy with the towels (supplied 3 for a 4-person room), but they brought more right up when we asked. Breakfast was okay--nothing special, and the little dining area was crowded in spite of the fact that there weren't many guests. The pool is tiny and reeks of chlorine.
