Expedia told me that this hotel has a lazy river which actually is at the Hilton next door. They make you rent or buy floats to use on the lazy river- so bring your own from Walmart. We stood a half an hour in the rain waiting for a bus that was late- no shelter or any seating at the bus stop. The bus picked up at the Hilton first so sometimes there […] was standing room only for the Waldorf Astoria guests. My family would have preferred the Hilton. The capuccino was dreadful at the bar and the waitress was rude when we told her. This hotel seems to be relying on its laurels rather than taking care of its guests. La Luce at the Hilton was a highlight. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Restaurants and Spa are lack lustre"
ok so I paid $60 for flat bread, fries and 2 drinks at their pool side restaurant and ended up with food poisoning. We tried their spa, they gave us a 50 minute couples massage and charged us for 60 mins. They didnt even ask us what type of massage we liked, even after telling the Masseuse to apply pressure, I barely felt her strokes. All that for a […] bargain price of $370!! Oh and they are so presumptuous that they automatically charged us 20% gratuity!!! So they dont care about the service quality because you will pay the gratuity no matter how your experience was. Now the hotel room, I found hair in the bathroom, the bed sheet was torn, not something you expect from a Hotel like Waldorf Astoria. Not going back to this hotel again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Better value at the Hilton Attached Next Door"
Our room had some unexpected surprises. There are two drawers in the nightstand and one small drawer in the dresser where the TV sits. The entire right side of the dresser is an empty cavity without a back. There were two closets. Tough for an adult and two children to put away clothing. There was another cabinet where the coffee maker stood that was […] also a large empty cavity. I requested a fridge and it was set up in a corner of the room. There was a sizeable wet area of carpet next to the bed by the window and the lampshade in the same spot had a hole in it. We rented a movie and the picture pixilated and the sound stuttered. I asked if i got the "rock star" room meaning the room that the fictional band stayed in before me because i booked through expedia. The staff was very nice and did not charge me for the movie. Given the pricing and shared property with the Hilton Bonnett Creek I would recommend staying at the Hilton. Much of the food is the same and while the Waldorf rooms are bigger, its not worth the price difference and you can go to the restaurants at both as well as play the course. Jeff in the pro shop was very nice to my boys who are just learning about golf. The staff was very accomodating, but my issues with the room were not up to my expectations. "5 Star hotel?"
The walls are paper thin. I actually heard a toilet flush from my room. Minibar was empty (Yes, fridge prozen over and empty) when I pointed it out at check-out the answer was "oh we don't offer mini bar service anymore". Obviously the "how was your stay" question is a formality that nobody cares about.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"poor billing practice"
Although the hotel and staff were pleasant the fact that the $100.00 incidentals "hold" applied to my credit card still remains a week after my stay. When I checked out my bill was paid in full. When I spotted the pending hold on my credit card E- statement I called. A message was taken but no one from billing returned my call. I am a business traveler […] and a 48 hr hold is the industry standard. In fact, it was conveyed as such by the staff upon check-out. The bottom line is...be prepared to have the hold remain on your credit card for some undetermined amount of time. Better yet...wait to submit your travel expenses or per diem voucher until they decide to lift their incidentals hold! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Long waiting times to get service"
The main reason for rating as disappointing was the waiting times for service in the hotel. It was the peak Christmas / New Year week and they clearly could not cope. Regular 45 min waiting times to be seated for breakfast and to just get a sandwich from the bar in the evenings. Would expect much better from a 5 star hotel. We did raise with management […] and they did refund some of our bill but the whole purpose of going to a 5 star hotel is to get great service not a refund - so very disappointing. For that reason wouldn't recommend. It may well be an issue unique to the time of year and the hotel itself was in very good condition and service good when finally received! So our advice would be to steer clear at Christmas / New Year unless they can make improvements. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Waldorf Astoria - Orlando Florida"
