Located in downtown Orlando, Crowne Plaza Orlando is 9 blocks from the Amway Center and the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center. Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium is 1.5 miles from the hotel, and Universal Studios Orlando is about 7 miles away.

"Bugs in the Bedroom"
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for a concert at the Amway Center. The hotel was extremely convinent for the concert and the valet service was excellent - setting us up with a black car. However, upon arrival there was no Shampoo available in our room. I called the front desk and they said that they would send some up. Thirty minutes later - I went downstairs […] to get my own. I never recieved my shampoo. Poor service. When we woke up the next morning we were greeted by a live cock roach in the bathroom. yuck! Great location if you enjoy traffic (Interstate 4) and the ghetto. The Crowne may be 3 blocks from the Bob Carr PAC but it's also only one block from the hood. The room was without a mini fridge and it was a king with a pull out sofa. Our room was on the second floor so we had zero view but that turned out to be a blessing because the elevators were […] slow, slow and creaky. Stayed with my boyfriend for two nights for my 21st birthday. Very close to downtown Orlando. Hotel staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Room very comfortable and HUGE. Great amenities. We had a small problem with the tv and phone and the manager upgraded us to an exeutive suite, Then she turned down a tip because she felt bad about the problems.The room was beautiful the shower was Heavenly.We had 2 big screen tv's and the l shaped couch was cozy and great for relaxing. The king size pillow top mattress was almoast as comfortable […] as our tempurpedic. Lot's of granite in the bath and kitchen. The staff bent over backwards to fill our needs from the manager to the Valet. The hotel lobby and room was gorgeous. I saw a lot of complaints about the traffic. I could hear some traffic but it wasn't terrible. We used the valet service as it was only $5 more than if would have self parked. One of the valet men apparently didn't know how to drive a standard because the car died and bucked like crazy as he drove it up to us. […] We thought the transmission may have been affected from his driving it. I would def make sure you ask if the person can drive a standard before just handed them your keys and/or ticket. "Crowne Plaza-Orlando Zen like room w/ many extras!"
This hotel was absolutely wonderful. The room was clean, nicely decorated in up-to-date colors. It has a nice Zen like feel to it. The plasma television was great. I did not expect to have a couch, sink, microwave, ironing board, iron, hair dryer, computer access, weight room, granite countertops in the bathroom, constant hot water, and more for the […] inexpensive price that I paid. The lobby was also very nice with wonderful decorations. The parking lot was surrounded by a chain link fence and had a security guard who walked the premises at night so I felt comfortable. The hotel is close to the Interstate (motorway) but I use a sound machine at night and I did not hear anything from outside. I did hear the occasional door slam from another room but was never once disturbed by anyone in other rooms. I never used the bar or restaurant services so I can't comment on that. Also the area is not the safest or at least did not appear to be but a quick hop on the Interstate and you are within minutes from all restaurants and entertainment. We stayed on the 5th floor.
