Although Orlando is best known as a place for play, the city’s downtown reflects the area’s vibrant economy. Skyscrapers rise along Lake Eola, the site of a popular Sunday market. West of the Central Business District, the Orlando Magic holds court at the Amway Arena, while the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre hosts major concerts. The Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium is nearby.

"Bugs in the Bedroom"
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for a concert at the Amway Center. The hotel was extremely convinent for the concert and the valet service was excellent - setting us up with a black car. However, upon arrival there was no Shampoo available in our room. I called the front desk and they said that they would send some up. Thirty minutes later - I went downstairs […] to get my own. I never recieved my shampoo. Poor service. When we woke up the next morning we were greeted by a live cock roach in the bathroom. yuck! So for the full price of an overnight stay of $170 plus $18 for parking - I just don't see the price as worth it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Too close to highway"
We stayed in a king deluxe, the room was nice & big. The hotel is close to the Amway Center & they offer a shuttle service which was great as we were there for a concert. The biggest complaint I had was the noise being so close to the highway. I hardly slept at all. Probably wouldn't stay there again because of it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Noisy & Not Worth the Cost"
Unfortunately I was very disappointed in my stay at the Crown Plaza Orlando. The check in was slow. The quality of amenities was poor. The surrounding outside noise was terrible... if only I had known that there was going to be a 4:30am morning train that would not stop blowing its whistle I would have been prepared with ear plugs!!!! Needless to stay […] I will not be staying at this hotel again :( Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointed!"
Horrible location. Scary dirty neighborhood. Would have never stayed here if I would have known more of the location. Staff was extremely short & rude. Had to pay $15 a night to park and was not told of this until during checkout! Prices for everything were outrages! For the price I paid to stay here I was expecting a nice place with no hassle. "It's ok"
Ill be short and to the point. There were no towels in my room and it took housekeeping about an hour to bring me some. The a/c didn't work very well and no fan in the bathroom. When dining for breakfast I sat for 30 minutes while the waitress passed me 4 times not saying a single word or offering to get me anything or take my order. The manager was […] rude when I spoke with him claiming the waitress was busy. If that was the case then get another waitress to help me. Terrible service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Unrestful Night"
Upon arriving in room, detected an odor of "meat." Checked out microwave and found it had not been cleaned. Someone had microwaved something like beef stew and a film was still on oven interior. I wiped it out. It was a cold night in Orlando, and the heat did not work. The window was not double-paned, so we listened to expressway noise entire time. […] At 4:00 a.m. awoke to very loud laughing and talking from room next door coming under the door that connects adjoining rooms. In morning, we had a voucher for free breakfasts in hotel cafe. Took an hour for us to receive our order of eggs and bacon. Would definitely never book this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

No towel bars in bathroom, No exhaust fan in bathroom, No ceiling fan/s, Carpet dirty, No refrigerator, poor lighting, no complimentary breakfast, no complimentary coffee in lobby...All in All, I would not recommend this hotel to my friends.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bad Bad Bad"
I entered the hotel and encountered crying children that appeared to be being babysat for an event that was going on somewhere in the hotel. I slept in a hole all night under extremely heavy bedding. It was the worst hotel bed I have ever slept on. I woke up every hour. After using the "free" breakfast voucher that was sold with the room I still ended […] up paying $20 for breakfast for my wife and I. I found out that the hotel charged for overnight parking when a $15 charge showed up on my room bill at checkout. Nobody bothered to tell me that. Will never stay here again. Sorry... "Terrible service, noisy room"
The noise from the freeway is very loud. Ordered room service continental breakfast which was $8.99 only for extra eggs to be charged at $5.45 each. The gym has only running machines, minimal dumbells and the water was empty.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Too much to worry about"
There is only ONE ice machine in the ENTIRE hotel that gets emptied out fairly quickly. TWO holds were placed on my account that take a while to work their way back into my BoA account. The T.V had NO ports for my DVD player so you HAD to purchase from their on demand. "What are they thinking"
I had to change my suite room 3 times. The first smelled like it was inside the Lincoln or Holland tunnel since the exhaust from I-4 was overwhelming. Second suite obvious smelled from a smoker. TVs not working, doors latches not closing. AND the most unbelievable is that there are swinging saloon doors to the bathroom from the bedroom. Also wooden […] shutters. Like your partner wants to see and smell you taking a dump. What mental midget came up with that? Then the final straw was the idiot front dest CLERK said they "GAVE OUT" all their late check outs. So I had to remind him of my great stay and my inconvenience. I reminded him he is customer service and to find a way. He insisted he couldnt. Then I said dont you have a rewards program or some special designation so I can get a couple of hours and he said you can sign up as a preferential guest and I said what do i have 2 do and he said he just needs to push a couple of buttons. I said, you should do that. Now on the positive side....this hotel suite has the BEST shower anywhere. And the blonde woman who helped when we checked in was extraordiarily nice. "Noise, noise, noise."
The hotel is very nice: the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable. The staff is very helpful. Two significant issues of this hotel: The noise level from the highway was unbearable although we stayed on a Saturday night. The other one: The AC unit in the room was right by the bed and making a loud noise like it was competing with the highway. We […] had to turn it off at one point. Imagine that in a summer, Florida night!! We went to the pool in the morning: Again: music + noise. I had to say: I hate to rate it so low, but I will never go back to this hotel. "Watch out for double billing!!"
I try to use a debit card instead of a credit card when paying for things like rooms, etc. So I paid for the room online with Expedia.com and thought everything was fine. When I checked into the hotel, they usually want a card on file to charge additional items and I gave them a card to swipe. I didn't think anything of it, but when I got my receipt, […] I noticed the entire cost of my stay was listed. Sure enough, I checked my account and I had gotten double billed for my hotel room. I'm still in the process of getting a refund and if all else fails, will leave it up to the credit card company to handle the overpayment. I guess it's "buyer beware" and I wonder how many people this actually happens to... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Crowne Plaza Orlando, you can do better"
The Crowne Plaza Orlando is an old building with no valet for luggage or concierge. Some of the walls and carpet seemed dirty and some elevator buttons sporadically worked. It took three visits to the front desk to get both of our room key cards to work. Of 14 floors only the 2nd floor had an ice machine of which only one of two machines worked and […] watch out for water on the floor. Attempting to get tickets to Epcot and print, only one of two computers for guests were working. The closet space was tiny, bathrooms cramped, and the ice bags where not always replaced making me suspect of cleanliness/health regulations. Hotel provides microwave, sink and cabinets but no refrigerator - that was extra. Laundry cost was expensive and I had to do all the walking of taking it to front desk and retrieving it. I have stayed at a Crowne Plaza in Seattle and had a wonderful experience. This hotel in Orlando was disappointing. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"The Parking Situation"
Forget hotels.com rate - when you get to the hotel which is kind of on the outskirts of town, they make you pay between $13 and $18 to park in their massive mainly empty onsite parking lot. Did I mention this is a per night fee?! What a joke. Nickel and dime.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Plumbing, Bugs and Parking = POOR"
Our room had plumbing issues, loud noises due to air in lines. Next, we had hundreds of small ants or spiders crawling all over the bathroom. They did move our room, however it smelled like smoke. Lastly upon check out we were told $13.00 for parking. I've never been charged as a guest for parking. Anywhere. They were offering event parking for $10, […] then charge their guests $13.00. I argued the charge and she wouldn't do anything about it. We were on a tight schedule to leave so was unable to wait to speak to a Manager. "Very Noisy"
I hate to write a bad review about this hotel because the service was excellent and the hotel is a good hotel. However, it is located near a highway and it was simply too noisy for me to sleep well. "misleading info"
We picked this hotel because in the discription it said this hotel was 2 blocks from the Amway Center. THIS IS NOT TRUE. It is more like two miles but they do have a free shuttle which I ended up paying about $15 for tips because we had to use it 4 times. The room was rather small with two queen beds and the air unit was so close to the bed that the […] person sleeping closest to the air unit was freezing all night !!!! Big dissapointment. When you check into the room they offer ear plugs and eye masks. Also, very noisy in the hallways. The balcony doors were locked and could not be opened. Food was terrible and highly overcooked. "Missing hospitality"
We found several staff members to be blatently rude with no provocation; they simply started out that way when we first approached them. And we weren't the only ones who felt that way as people in the elevators and in the lobby were voicing the same opinion. As we were leaving, the faciltiy engineer overheard us talking and asked for our feedback. He […] asked us to inform the manager on duty about the circumstances of our complaints; which we did. "Crowne Plaza Orlando - Downtown"
The people were nice but, $10 extra to park your car !? REALLY? I turned down a different hotel because this one was $10 cheaper. No Fridge in the room and no Ice machine on any floor except 2nd (I found out later). No towel bars in the bathroom. Balcony but no access beacuse of locked door. Seriously bad part of town. got it because it was 1 mile from […] Amway center, but was affaid to walk it. Luckily the hotel offered a free shuttle. That was good. Nothing within walking distance around it except perhaps a good mugging just outside the barbed wire fencing. I would have stayed in a hotell on the west side of Amway Ctr if I'd known what a depressed part of town I was getting into. Polar opposet of the International Drive area just a few minutes away. "no pool!"
When we originally booked our hotel stay, their website stated there was a new pool coming in June. Our stay was for July so we figured it would be done. We figured wrong...middle of July and the pool was still under construction, therefore, we had to find other activities for our daughter who was very disappointed. Costumer service at first seemed […] pretty unempathetic. We decided to stay even though there was no pool because we did not want the headache of driving around Orlando in search of another one. When we got to our room, it was dusty and there was a pair of DIRTY USED socks in the ac vent, I assume for drying. Pretty disgusting! We did express our concerns to the on duty hotel costumer service manager, who was very pleasant and offered us compensatin of a free night stay when their pool was completed. She also sent some one up to the room right away to remove the dirty socks and clean the area. It's a nice hotel, pretty loud surrounding area...you can hear the traffic and train all night. If you're a light sleeper, I wouldn't stay here. As for the price, I wouldn't pay the amount they want again for this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
