We stayed in a smoking room with 2 queen beds. My only complaints would be that our room was missing a microwave and the hot water for the sink made a horrible sound if it ran for longer than 2 minutes. I wouldn't say avoid this place, but know what your getting into and watch the price. The hotel staff was friendly, and when they overbooked the room I reserved (it was a very busy weekend) they upgraded me for free. However, this MOTEL was clearly built in the 80s and hasn't been updates since. The outdoor walkways and handrails were covered in chipped […] paint, the beds were stiff, the "free wi-fi" only worked in the lobby where hordes of people gathered regularly, the door key was a punchcard, and the room AC/heater only had options for heat, cool, or off so that it was always on or always off and a little noisy when on. The tiny bathroom was clean, but the shower mat had black mold on it and was not replaced the entire time I was there despite putting it out in plain sight. I got my reservation during a half off sale and it probably still wasn't worth it. The picture bears no resemblance to the actual room we stayed in. The old tv had a tube going so we got the multi-color tv experience. The bathtub had not been cleaned and the overall room was filthy. Had to stay because it was what we paid for but overall disgusting experience.

Overall the hotel was really nice with tremendously nice stuff. Only things I found bad were that the shower knob was very difficult to turn on and off the shower & also the room smelt of cigarettes VERY badly. But it is located in the beat place. Everything is there.

Continental Plaza is a good choice for a guys weekend if you want to be very close to Universal Studios, and just need a place to sleep at night. The hotel is definitely showing its age, but the beds and furniture seem newer and were comfortable. I've stayed here twice now with a friend to attend Halloween Horror Nights at Universal studios for a 4 […] Night stay, and being within a few minutes from the Universal gate and it's inexpensive cost are it's biggest advantages. The mini-fridge and the shower had scratches and some rust showing, but the beds were clean so it worked fine. Not very friendly and when they cleaned our rooms we were given our same used, wet towels instead of dry, clean ones. The sheets seemed dirty and the a/c barely worked. The location is very convenient and is walking distance to a lot of fun attractions and restaurants.

The only good thing about this hotel is that it's cheap and it's near everything. Everything else is just ridiculous. Internet didn't work, room was dirty (especially the bathroom), the walls are EXTREMELY thin it's like you're sleeping in the middle of the street, and the A/C blew very smelly air.

This hotel was in a good location and I am usually pretty lax on rating them because I know I chose it for the price HOWEVER, this place was FILTHY! the fridge was probably from the early 90's and was completely rusted so it wouldn't close, both beds had HAIR in them and the mattress pad was severly stained and smelled awful. I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was top of the line but the service was great and they kept the rooms clean. The hotel is surrounded by Walgreens, KFC, a chinese restaurant, broadway pizza, and indoor skydyving. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a great deal and a nice hotel!

This hotel is great for the price. I was in Orlando mainly to visit Universal Studios, so it was perfect for me - less than a 15 minute walk away from CityWalk/the theme parks. Everything was fine, close to wet n wild, Universal Studios, Outlet Shopping, etc. Get what you pay for, did have to use wifi in the lobby only could not get it in the rooms also free continental breakfast was only cereal and toast. First I have to say that all of the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I commend the workers there and was amazed at just how friendly they were. The room, on the other hand, was one of the worst I've ever stayed in. Perhaps I was given an unusually poor room because I got a great deal on this room through a special promotional discount....but […] even at that low price, I probably wouldn't return. The walls had visible holes that had been patched and never painted --and even new holes in the patched areas. There were many spots of peeling paint and visible stains on the walls and ceiling. There was an ironing board, but but no iron or alarm clock.....and on and on. As for cleanliness--I think the staff kept it reasonably clean given the poor condition of the room to begin with--but it's hard for a room to feel clean when there are stains, holes, and peeling paint. Again--not the cleaning staff's fault. "Breakfast" was included but was nothing more than coffee, oj, toast, and three kids cereal bins. No bagels or pastries or hot food. Again, the staff person was friendly--the food was just bare bones. The plusses: friendly staff and location. This hotel is a very short drive to Universal and Wet N Wild. You could perhaps even walk, but given that Universal is surrounded by major highways--I wouldn't give it a try (plus the walk would take forever to actually get to the parks). The water was hot and the air conditioning worked well too. Would I recommend it? *If* you just want a bed and really don't mind stains and holes--it's cheap. Beyond that, no. I know I'll pay more for something better in the future. Oh--and if you don't plan on going to Universal or Wet N Wild, don't bother coming here. You can find better deals that are nearer to the Disney parks. Read more
