Our room was great. Spacious comfortable and clean. Even had a bidet and a huge in room jacuzzi for two. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. The landscaping and pools are beautiful. Couldn't find a nicer place. My only complaint is the pressure they try to put on you when you check in to listen to a sales pitch, but if you just refuse to hear it […] you can avoid it. when you opened the door that leads to either our room or neighbors room it smelt like a dog had been in there. that smell was not as strong in our room but it still stunk. we had to go to store anf buy air freshner to get it out. also the room next to us was very noisey and they were smoking pot all night and the next morning.

A decent hotel, but Hotels.com staff misled us. I told the sales rep we needed a room for 4. Two adults and two kids. We got a room with a king size bed and then a pullout couch. So three in the bed and one on the pull out. Not the way I planned to sleep our family of 4. This set up was not explained until I got to the front desk. Hotel could not make […] a change. I don't usually review anything, but I was so disappointed by this stay, that I felt I needed to share my experience. First, after an eight-hour day on my feet at Sea World, I didn't appreciate the 30-40 minute wait to check-in. Then when I finally got to the front to register, I was told I'd have to put down a $50 deposit for the room. I had not budgeted […] this money in, and we were traveling back the next morning with very little funds. Needless to say, I asked to speak to a manager. He tried to explain that my confirmation should have this information on it, but he could not find that anywhere. I was livid! I still don't have the $50 back on my card yet, and I've been home several days. The room was small & had no privacy! The king bed was uncomfortable, but the pull-out sofa bed was worse! My daughter had to out the mattress on the floor. After a few hours without sleep & a painful back, she finally got in the bed with my other daughter & me. Our family vacation was an extraordinary one. Westgate is a must stay vacation location. We'll be back next year for our annual Easter holiday stay in Orlando and Westgate will be our home away from home. The amenties were plentiful, the staff friendly and our accomodations roomy and relaxing. We couldn't ask for anything more.

My husband and I stayed here to spend the night to go to Universal the next day. The suite was great for the two of us and very quiet. This hotel is spread out in many buildings and we loved our spot towards the back with our lenai overlooking the lake. Many activities at the hotel to do too and seven pools throughout the complex. Homemade muffins and rolls were delicious too along with the very tall beer at a great price at the restaurant. The staff at the restaurant and the hotel were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. The price was great for a stay here and I would highly recommend the hotel to any couple or family looking for a safe, friendly and comfortable place to stay for a week or a few nights. This is the 2nd time that I stayed at the Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa. Overall I enjoyed the stay but parking is horrible and I don't like the fact that the staff do not work with you when requesting a late check out.

Overall the stay was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful when asked. The asking was crucial though. We found there were many hidden details about the resort. Check-in was not informative so I kept having to ask questions to get answers. We didn't appreciate having to pay for basically all the amenitities (ex. exercise room, shuffleboard, etc) […] because we were only hotel guests and not resort members. The most aggrevating part of our stay was that there was no recycling available on location. Travelers have a ton of recyclables, especially recyclable drink bottles, and throwing them away because there was no option to recycle was horrible. Also there was no information given to us telling us that a cleaner would be coming in our room. We were surprised by this (even though it was nice) and had towels washed that didn't need to be which produced unnecessary energy and water waste. The most disgusting part of the resort was that the check in brochure that our room keys came in proclamined that Westgate was trying to go green, because we saw no evidence of this. We really wish the resort would live up to their statements; however, if the facility is not going to actually recycle and try to be green the facility should remove the claim from their publications. The location was convenient, yet quiet which we enjoyed. Also the security guards with golf-carts were nice & very helpful. Read more

My wife and I (in our 30's) and in-laws (in their 60's) stayed for 3 nights after finding a deal on hotels.com. We were thrilled with the stay and thought our room, view, and the grounds in general were beautiful. I have to admit though that we did get a bit lucky. We booked a 1br Villa, but when we arrived they didn't have any available, so they upgraded […] us (for free) to a beautiful and huge 2br villa (the 1br was big as well, we got to see it on a tour). We also got lucky that our room was on the 4th floor corner unit overlooking the lake on one side and a pool on the other. Very clean and fresh rooms. Had we stayed in our original 1br and had it overlooked the parking lot (like some units do), it may have been a different story. Like other reviewers have said, it is a hotel/condo resort and they are trying to sell time shares, but you can fairly easily ignore this (just be ready to say "No" to the request to set up a sales breakfast, which they ask you when you check in). Or book the breakfast, get the discounted passes they offer as incentive for the sales pitch (which they give you after their 2 hour presentation -- they say 60-90 min, but its 2 hours), endure the pitch, and they go about your beautiful stay. Booked and paid through hotels.com. Had to pay another $11 and change upon checkin, after being the only one there and having to wait 19 minutes while all the paperwork was filled in by the clerk and then entered into the computer, printed, and handwritten copies as well as printed copies of the same info were given to me. Then, we had difficulty driving […] over 1/4 mile on property because the streets were lined with cars since parking is about a third the number of spaces it should be. We had to park in the grass since my wife is handicapped. The room was nice and fairly clean, but I felt like a cow at a feed lot. Crampt and crowded. Then when we went to check out I was asked to park in a parking space. I informed the 15 year old looking kid that I hadn't been in a parking space since I arrived on the property. There were almost as many golf carts driven by employees as there were customer's vehicles. Worst hotel stay of my life, including tent city in Saudi Arabia. Read more

I absolutely loved it!!! My family and I loved it! We wanted to have separate sleeping quarters but loved having the common living room. Couldn't ask for more but the 2 rooms I rented were very cold! We loved our stay! The hotel is very centrally located to many of the parks and many dining options. The studio we stayed in was comfortable and most importantly clean!!! The studio offers all the basic kitchen amenities you need when traveling with a toddler such as a mini fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster and kitchen sink complete with sponge […] and dish soap. We had an amazing view from our balcony overlooking the lake which made for a relaxing way to unwind after a busy day at the parks. My only gripe is that the furniture and TV are a little outdated...
