"Snobby Society type Front Desk"
I felt like I was pledging for a fraternity when dealing with the front desk superior attitudes. They were not pleasant and really didn't care to here any kind of deviations. The older small bar in the older side of the building had anger issue staff members. The waitress refused to serve my table. Bartender did not give a last call warning. Did not […] care. Can't knock the pool and valet. They were very nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice not Great"
I've stayed in many hotels around Orlando and had been looking forward to one day staying at the Peabody. This week I did and I felt a bit let down. The hotel was lovely and clean, the employees were very friendly but given the price and star rating, I expected more. In particular, the bathrooms were so small that I couldn't even close/open the door […] if the bathmat was down because it would get caught under the door. There was no hook for a robe, no robe, no counter space to place anything and no fan. I couldn't even dress in the bathroom it was so small. In addition, the air conditioning seemed to work only sporadically in one of our rooms. It just wasn't what I'd expect from a hotel of this caliber. The food at the B-Line diner was sub-par (on both days we tried) as was the service. That said, the pool and water slide was a big hit with the kids, the ducks were a joy to see, the concierge was great, and the location can't be beat. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not impressed"
If you want a hotel with 1500 rooms and you don't mind impersonal service, this place is for you. The hotel has great amenities and the location is convenient to shopping on International Drive as well as theme parks in the area and is connected to the convention center. My double room was so-so in decor and the bathroom was not all that clean upon […] check in. The toilet sometimes didn't flush and the toilet seat was broken. I asked for assistance and in the 4 nights I stayed, no one ever fixed either/or. Checking in or any interaction with the front desk, for that matter, was difficult at best due to long lines (hey, with 1500 rooms during spring break what did I expect?) I asked and was turned down when I requested to upgrade my room as well as getting a late checkout. Because I like to end on a positive note, the pool area was very nice and there is a good selection of places to eat on the property. Overall, I was underwhelmed. The hotel itself was awesome. The front desk staff were not friendly. The day I checked in, their systems went down. They told me to wait around and they would call me when they came back up. One and a half hours went by and I never received a call. After watching several guests check in, I walked up and requested a status update. The young lady rudely […] told me she had just arrived at work, dismissed my concern and proceeded to ask me if I was ready to check in or not. Had I been dressed up or had a different appearance, instead of being in my travel clothes, I wonder if I would've received better service?..... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice hotel, but read the fine-print"
The Peabody is a very nice and beautiful hotel. The beds were very comfortable, and the staff was helpful and friendly. It's a huge hotel with several restaurants and bars, and more than 1 pool and hottub. It's also very centrally located. The TV in the bathroom was also very cool. However, when we originally called the hotel to book our Universal Studio […] focused vacation, we inquired as to a shuttle service, so that we wouldn't have to pay for parking. We were told, during 2 separate phone calls, that there was, in deed a shuttle service to Universal Studios from the hotel, that would be included in our stay. However, upon checking in, we were informed that there is no shuttle service. The only shuttle service available does not go as far as Universal. In addition to that, we had to pay for parking at the hotel, and at Universal each day, which ended up costing us an additional $100. I probably would not stay at this hotel again just because of the inconvenience and that we were not told this information when asked. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The room was nice and clean with comfortable beds. The lobby seems to be always busy and caotic. Parking fee of $16 per day was not expected and was excessive-considering you have to pay to park at all of the area attractions. The pool area is beautiful but, it is in a bad location-it does not get any sunlight until mid afternoon, so sunbathing is not […] much of an option. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"This is NOT a 4.5 star hotel"
The hotel did not provide Valet service. They said there was no room. But they let you self park in the same lot 1000 yards away. Even the valet guy's did not understand management's decision. You still paid 16.00 a day to park but go do it yourself and walk back in the rain. Checking in was a nightmare. They have very close to 1700 rooms. So the line […] to check in was over an hour. I ate at Cappriccio's the service was LOUSY. The waitress was very nice and polite. They just took forever. I ordered a steak med well. the inside was raw. kind of purple in color. They took my 49.00 steak and destroyed it on the outside and it was medium at best. It was a busy season but and we got a deal. nice place for the money but Nowhere close to a 5 star hotel. I was delayed 1 day and stayed at a five star. they were very busy as well. That never became my problem. Compared to what I paid at the Ritz. 170.00 it was well worth it. But this is not a 4.5 star hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"You don't get what you pay for, try another hotel!"
Needed to be near convention center. Chose this hotel, the priciest, because it bragged to be closest to convention center, had a spa, and ducks. You walk all the way through their convention area before you cross the street to walk to the convention center, so basically walk your legs off. Spa was small and pricey. The treatment, hot stone, was ok. […] Relaxation room where you wait for therapist is beneath the weight room. Not relaxing to hear the weights dropping on your head. Fortunately you can't hear this when in your treatment room. Did not find the music relaxing, and the volume seemed loud for a spa treatment. Basically an average experience for a $239 treatment, automatic 20 % gratuity added. My dinner at the pricey steakhouse was also just ok. Last year at the Hilton my steakhouse experience was heavenly. At Peabody's steakhouse the filet was average, came on a plate alone with no garnishes, no sauces, no veggies, nothing. Pretty weak presentation. If you wanted sauces they were an extra charge. I also ordered the baked potato which was $8. The server was attentive and friendly, but the meal pretty lackluster especially for the high price. The b line diner on the other hand had great food. I had two meals there, both with great value and taste. Now to biggest problem, the paper thin walls! I have never ever stayed in any hotel where I could hear every normal level conversation in either room. No sleep for me! Ducks adorable. Stay elsewhere and come over to see ducks. "Far from the WDW attaractions"
It was an amazingly clean and super comfortable room that you would get at Peabody(FOr the money that we pay, that is bare minimum we could expect though). Checking in is such a hassle though,we always saw a huge line at the reception everyday we were there. It is 15ish miles from WDW.The biggest issue for me was the parking, you have to park at a separate […] parking garage and walk about 0.5 miles to the hotel lobby (If you are returning from WDW parks after a long day/night, this is a bid deal)and they charge 16 bucks separately for parking. And if you are in tower2,you gotta walk the entire lobby to get to your room.I saw some folks were not able to use Wi-Fi,but i did not have any issues. It is not as close to WDW as they claim it to be. We had booked a double bed room for a family of four. When we arrived around midnight, they had no clean rooms left with double beds and we were given a run down room with cleanliness of a motel 8 standards. "HOTEL COULD NOT KEEP THE GOOD STANDARD"
Compared to a previous stay at the Peabody I would say that this was a big disappointment. The heel was crowded with hundred of fans from one of the BOWL games and the staff clearly was not being able to cope with that. It started with the check-in that lasted more than 40 minutes as the lady in the front desk could not find my reservation and took […] hours to fix the system. The lobby of the hotel was always crowded and looking more like a train station. The simple TV system to watch movies in the room was not working in the first day and during the four days that I stayed there they could not fix it. A simple Pizza in the room service that has always been good there this time was a disaster. I know the staff was trying hard to keep the standard of the hotel but this time they were not able to do it. The room that they gave me in the new tower was also not as good as the previous one that I had in the old remodeled tower. Overall not a very good experience this time. after waiting to check in for more than 20 minutes, we got into our room. Room was nice. Turned on water to take shower and noticed water was pouring out of tub. There was no shower head. Called downstairs and after waiting for 45 minutes, maintenance arrived. They looked at the shower asked us if it was like that when we checked in. We said yes and […] they said they would have to get a shower head and returned 30 minutes later. After a long day and waiting for more than an hour to get a shower we went to sleep. We were woken up an hour later at midnight by persistent knocking on our for. When I answered it was hotel staff staying he had the blankets we requested. Told him he had the wrong room, and he recited our number. I told him it was incorrect because we had been sleeping and his knocking woke us. We have had unfortunate service at this hotel before. Last year during our stay the for alarms went off numerous times causing us and other guests to have to take the stairs down to the lobby. In the morning we asked for a letter check out time due to the disturbances. They denied even an hour stating that it wasn't their fault as there were teens who were evidently involved. We were disappointed but didn't hold it against them. However, this year I believe they just do not have the service or maintenance one would expect at a four star hotel. I have always heard great things about the Peabody. My husband and I had a weekend getaway and decided to try it out. The interior lobby is stunning. The hotel restaurants are nice, though slightly overpriced when there are many fine dining options in Orlando. The lack of a 5 star rating is because the check-in staff was not at all friendly. The hotel […] charges $10 per day resort fee (they tell you it is for water and wi-fi, you are charged even if you don't use these amenities).
