International Drive's largest claim to fame is the Universal Orlando Resort, home to two theme parks — Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios; the water park, Wet 'n Wild; and the entertainment area, CityWalk. "not bad for the price"
We were only there for one night after a day at Universal. The first room smelled of bleach and we noticed the mirror was off the wall and the wall where it had been was moldy and icky. We were immediately moved to another room which was fine. It was clean for an older motel room and there were no problems. There was a go cart place across the street […] which was very noisy so you might want to ask for a side room, not on the front. "Can't beat the price"
When I first walked towards my room, I had goosebumps. The elevator was ancient, the conditions were not great. Then, the room was not as expected. I made the best of it, and thought positive. I went for my daughter's 5th Bday Trip to Orlando and stayed at the Travelodge. Front Desk was great, very nice & polite. Also helped me w/directions since I totally got lost for a bit. The location was great right across the street was a little "downtown", there was bungie cord, skyscraper, racetrack, etc. At nearly anytime there was someone on the […] street walking. My room was very clean, except for one area in the bathroom, I wasn't sure if it was old urine or just old rust stains around the toilet. Other than that very very clean. We did notice right before going to bed as we were washing our teeth there was a leak in the sink. Just because I didn't want to have to be moved from rooms, I didn't report it or anything. I just wanted to go to bed. I put the trash bin under it and the problem went away. I'm sure they would have fixed it right away since I saw a maintenance guy walking around w/his tool belt. Lots of restaurants and bars all around. Chillies across the street, Buffalo Wild Wings right next door, and many more. Again, great area, great service, and try to beat the price.... Impossible. The hotel was nice enough, clean though a little mold around the door and on the shower curtain. The TV in the room was fine. It was really close to Universal Studios (about a 4 minute drive) and there were lots of restaurants nearby. It was a good hotel for the price we paid. They also had a shuttle included in the resort fee (an extra 15 dollars we […] had to pay at the hotel when we got there), the shuttle took you to Universal Studios and Disney.
