"Great location/ Terrible location"
I'll com out saying we normally stay at Disney Resorts so we could have a biased opinion. This hotel is right on international drive, only a few blocks away from Universal Studious, so as far as a map is concerned, this is a great location. However, directly across the street is a small fun park, with a few loud attractions, one being go-karts. To make […] matters worse, we were placed directly on the front of the building, facing international drive. I thought it wouldn't be so bad and that the fun park probably closed around 11pm, yet there I was, awake in bed at 12:30am listening to the sound of go-karts and some referee blaring a whistle every 10 seconds. Aside from that, the hotel was mediocre. The carpet felt as if someone had shampooed it and left it to dry without vacuuming and the shower had this awesome feature that let you turn the knob to hot water and it would come out cold, it was just neat. "The noisiest hotel ever"
It is located in front of an amusement park. If you are going to be out until very late (after midnight), you won't have a problem, otherwise you will have to get used to people screaming or sleep with the TV on. There are much more acceptable hotels in the area for the same low price. While the hotel is very convenient to Universal, which was the reason for our visit, the room was just barely "acceptable." The beds were comfortable and it was spacious, but that's where it ends. The water pressure was absolutely terrible - calling it a drizzle is generous. The […] toilet wouldn't flush properly, the air conditioning unit's temperature sensor was clearly off, the hair dryer broke after 2 minutes of use, and there were fruit flies surrounding the vanity!! Additionally, the other hotel guests were extremely loud and disrespectful, and International Drive was very noisy as well. A good night's sleep was nearly impossible. "Beware of hidden fees."
Beware of hidden "service" fees. Hotel will try to charge you an additional $5 once you check in. "Highly disappointing, even at the relatively cheap"
This is not a new hotel. It is an old hotel that might have been recently renamed/rebranded. My experience started off waiting for another set of guests who complained about the lack of cleanliness of the room they were given to be dealt with by one of the hotel staff, while the other person behind the desk just sortta watched. Then I got hit with an […] additional $4 per night fee. Their explanation was that it was for the location. The hotel is located in the noisiest part of International Drive. They should have given me the $4 per night for the location.Instead they just gave me a lot of attitude over their ability to charge me more. And they blamed Expedia for not handling the charge like the Travelodge site apparenetly does according to them. When I asked about the pool, I was told that it was not open "yet", but when the inspectors approved it then it might be open in a week or so. Of course there was no discount for the lack of access to the pool. There was no breakfast, but there was a paper sign offering free coffee in the gift shop. Guess what, next morning I found that the gift shop was vacant and there was no coffee. The sign disappeared later that day. I had my doubts about the ligitimacy of the single 5.0 rating on the site when I made the booking. Someone from the hotel could have easily booked a night there in order to submit such a rating.
