"AWFUL"
WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER. I won some last minute tickets to a show at the Improv Orlando the night before St. Paddys. I live over an hour away from Pointe Orlando, so I thought there would be some nuts out drinking and driving, so I decided to get a hotel for the night. Wow, had I known the awful hotel experience I was about to endure, I probably […] would have sold my tickets. I got to the hotel 2 hours before the show started, and good thing because it took over 45 minutes to CHECK IN. None the less, into a room that was next to I-4, and it would have been nice if they didn't make excuses for the dirty room when I called and requested a change because it was obvious that one of the beds' sheets was not changed. I don't care if it was MegaCon that weekend, shouldn't that mean you should be staffed properly? This place is a HOLE. The room was very clean. There was a Japanese Koi fish convention going on. Those of us not there for the convention had absolutely no where to park! I ended up parking on a grass island. When they have this type of thing going on they should offer valet parking. When I was checking out, I decided to go in the computer room to print out my boarding […] pass for my flight home. I paid quite a bit for a couple nights here. The rooms were very basic...a couple baby spiders in the bathroom, but nothing ridiculous. I would say that the hotel needs some updating. The location is great for Universal travelers. There are a lot of stores, bars, and resteraunts within walking distance. The pool is very nice. The hotel was a trail wreck from the service to the room and amenities. They couldnt find the reservation and passed us from 1 person to another. Finally got a room and the handle was almost falling off, ac unit was half out and the faucet was leaky. It was the nosiest room at the front most corner on the first level. Top that the. We were staying at the International Palms to go to Universal Studios nearby. It was centrally located and either a decent walk or a $10 cab ride. We purchased the "king-sized bed-upgraded." It was a pretty hotel with a nice garden in the center of the square-shaped rows of rooms. We however, got a room at the dark end of the hall, near a staff door […] and fire exit. Our view was the machinery on the floor's roof beneath us and the interstate. Loud and unsightly. When we checked in, we were told that we were put in another building because the rooms are bigger (since we had 4 adults). They did not tell us that the building was under construction and that they would be doing work before 8:00 am (I think they started around 7:00). The first night NO HOT WATER, I saw a bug on the wall and the micorwave didn't work. I ask the night Manager to move me into a room that had hot water or give me my money back I was told that they would move me onto the 9th floor the next morning. Went to the front desk the next morning and spoke with the day manager and was told that the 9th floor […] isn't being rented out because they are remodelling that whole floor and they are out of rooms because the hotel was full and she couldn't give me my money back but she would send someone to take a look at the problem when I got back to my room I had hot water but you had to let it run for about 3 minutes before the hot water would kick in the room had old furniture the carpet had nasty spots. This hotel was a mistake purchase. I should have spent the extra money and stayed at a brand name hotel. This hotel was a disapointment from start to finish. They did not mention the renovations, or the lacking room conditions, or the scary thriller elevator, or the lack of surrounding transportation and food open past 11:00pm! "Three and 1/2 stars & worth ever penny"
I am from Orlando and know the hotels well. This property has a very nice pool (freeform) spa, workout room, arcade, cafe, bar, coffee stand. Quick checkin and checkout (LodgeNet checkout did not work but i was checked out in 1 min at the counter) Room was SPOTLESS, Bathroom SPOTLESS, room service came an i sent them away as i was still getting ready, […] they even came later on THEN cleaned the room. There was always a security dude around and elevators need room key to get up to any floor (besides 1st floor)... right across street from Wet and Wild (about 1 block) and in the middle of International drive right in the center of everything there. For the price i paid I cannot see where i could have had a better deal near the same location without being disappointed as many of the hotels there are a little run down. In room Fridge, Coffee maker, alarm clock, TV w/HBO and at least 30 other cable channels, Full Lodgenet access to movies, music and games if you want also. Wifi was spotty but was able to hijack access from the hotel next store no problem. Nice breakfast buffet for $10 each but chose to do the $3.99 special across the street (i should have spent the $20 as theirs looked much better)... this hotel is right on spot at 3 stars, maybe 3 1/2, I am also picky so for me to rate a hotel up where it claims to be is rare. We had a great experience at this hotel. It was a 2 minute drvie to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure which is where we went most of the time. It is about 12 minutes from the downtown nightlife. Pluses: Large fridge, replaced old towels everyday without you having to ask, nice pool/hot tub, location Minuses: We were nervous the elevators would […] break on us because they were so old. Pictures are very deceiving! The pictures are about 10 years old and exaggerated!!! They really need to remodel. The pool was dirty it really needed to be scrubbed. Bartender at the pool cabana was AWESOME! Our room was really big but really old. The TV was popping like it was going to die at anytime and the picture was dark; we could barely see what […] was on the screen. In the bathroom, the shower plumbing was coming out of the wall. We had to push it back in to make the shower work properly. We called the front desk and they stated they were sold out and there was nothing they could do. Housekeeping was nice but only came around from 7 a.m. -10 a.m. If you go out at night and try to sleep in...good luck. We asked them to come back later...they never did! We left a day early due to all the problems. When we tried to check out the front desk person tried to charge me a late check out fee because it was after 11a.m. I explained that we were paid up until the next day, but he told me that wasn't how it worked. Had to argue with him.... I am upset that I booked here. I could have booked for the same price at a nicer hotel. The quality of the hotel was poor and the service was just as bad. "excellent pool area"
Went for a quick getaway with my mom. We picked this place because of the pictures of the pool and we were not disappointed. The pool and pool area was amazing. Our room was not the greatest. the window was really dirty and the beds needed to be updated, the tub was chipped, the telephone did not work, the toilet did not flush and the microwave was […] broken On our last night we arrived back from the pool to a friendly lizard in our room. Though they are cute at the pool, we did not want to sleep in the same room as one so we asked to move. Nous avons séjourné 5 nuits dans cet établissement. La proximité avec les parcs universal studios a été un élément déclencheur. Et nous n'avons été déçu d'absolument rien, tout était parfait.
