The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Hotel is a self-contained 1,500-acre resort in Orlando, Fla. The property is located six miles from Orange County Convention Center, 0.8 miles from Little Lake Bryan premium outlets area and is adjacent to Walt Disney World. Complimentary shuttle services are offered to Walt Disney World theme parks, Wet 'n Wild water park and SeaWorld Orlando.
Hotel Features.
The resort offers several restaurants and lounges. Dining choices include seafood at Hemingway's, which displays sepia photographs of the famous Florida resident and author. On the Rocks provides casual, poolside drinks. Cascade American Bistro serves American cuisine and features a 35-foot bronze waterfall sculpture of a mermaid overlooking Lake Windsong. Other on-site restaurants include Palm Café and Trellises.
A 24-hour business center offers secretarial support services, office supplies and business equipment rental. High-speed wired and wireless Internet access is provided in the 65,000 square feet of meeting space.
Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress features a private lake, a golf academy, and four Jack Nicklaus signature-designed golf courses totaling 45 holes. The grounds also include miles of tropical nature trails, sandy beaches, a marina on site, canoeing and sailing. The resort has a concierge desk. A swimming area provides a half-acre lagoon-style pool with 12 waterfalls, grottos and three spa tubs. The hotel has a health club with 11 lighted tennis courts, a racquetball court and a basketball court. The health club also features an equestrian center, a salon with two treatment rooms that provide facials, beauty services and massage therapy, and a fitness center.

White Horse Sports Bar - Sports bar. Nonstop sports on flat-screen TVs. Extensive wine menu, beer, and cocktails.
Hemingway's - Set high atop the grotto overlooking the outdoor pool, this Key West–style restaurant specializes in fresh seafood. Dinner only.
Palm Café - Casual restaurant serving ready-made sandwiches, salads, pastries, and light fare. Open early morning to late evening.
Trellises - Tropical-themed lobby lounge. Starbucks coffee served mornings. Cocktails, wine, and beer later in the day. Open early to late morning and late afternoon to late evening.
On the Rocks - The new pool bar situated along Lake Windsong offers views of the lagoon pool and beach. It is the hub of outdoor activity with four 60” TVs, relaxing, shaded seating with misting fans, bar stools and table seating with full bar and food service options. For guests seeking to linger a little longer, signature cocktails such as the Goombay Smash, Cypress Rum Runner, and Frozen Caribbean Colada provide the perfect concoction to pair with the most popular pool side noshes including Crispy Calamari, Crab Cake Sandwich, and the Florida Mahi-Mahi Taco.
Swimming and boating: Experience the enhanced lagoon pool, the signature attraction at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, where the new features will make you smile as you enjoy the moments that make memories. Located along the 1,000 feet of white sandy beach of private Lake Windsong, the free-flowing lagoon pool boasts 12 waterfalls, heated and non-heated pools, two whirlpools, new Water Slide Tower Pavilion, new Water Jet Splash Zone, new children’s Rock Climbing Stations, rope bridge, walking paths, and expansive, wrap-around sundecks.
These new features complement the resort’s favorite recreation activities including; S’mores pit with fireside storytelling and classic family marshmallow roasting fun; 1,000 feet of white sandy beach at the 21-acre Lake Windsong with beach volleyball, tether ball, lounge seating and hammocks; watersports with paddleboats, kayaks, hydro bikes, canoes, aqua cycles and sailboats; old-fashioned, canopied surrey bikes; and marked jogging, walking, and biking trails, just to name a few!
Golf: Four Jack Nicklaus Signature Design courses include an 18-hole layout and three nine-hole challenges. Tees, scorecards, and use of clubs and golf balls are complimentary.
Tennis: The Grand Cypress Tennis and Racquet Club has eight Har-Tru and four Deco Turf II tennis courts, five lit for night play. Instruction is available at the Tennis Academy.
Walking, jogging, bicycling: Options include three jogging and walking paths stretching from 1.3 to 4.7 miles, an Audubon Walk with a mile-long boardwalk past exotic plants and Florida wildlife, and nine miles of Cypress trails. The resort rents bicycles.
Fitness center: The Hyatt StayFit™ fitness center expanded features the latest in Life Fitness® Cardio equipment with 8 cross trainers, 11 treadmills, four recumbent and upright LifeCycles, free weights, and strength stations. The integrated LCD television offers guests enhanced interaction, Internet connectivity, and endless entertainment options.

"WOW! A Vacation without leaving the hotel."
The hotel property is HUGE and the landscaping is beautiful. Golf was great. The kids loved the mini-golf, the little beach, and the water boats. The pool was amazing along with the breakfast buffet. "Short vacation"
Hotel under renovation all but one of the pools closed. Hotel does not offer free shuttle to airport or downtown Disney. Hotel will be nice once fully renovated however transportation service is a big disappointment. The Grand Cypress is conveniently located to all the parks and is reasonably priced for all the amenities and the updated rooms. The small pool was being renovated so our son did not get to use the water slides but they had rented inflatable slides as an alternative. The grounds are beautiful and loved the jogging trails. It was very nice even with the construction/renovations in progress. A bit pricey for the resort fee plus a separate parking fee. Towel card arrangement was confusing, but didn't cause us problems in being able to use pool towels. "Watch out for hidden fees!!!!"
This is a nice hotel. The problem lies in what they don't tell you, or try to hide from you. When we arrived and were checking in we were shown a piece of paper with amenities for the hotel, such as wifi and access to the racquet club. None of these amenities were going to be used by us. We were told that it was an additional $25/nt for these amenities. […] Assuming it was optional I thought nothing of it. I was then asked for a card for incidentals. I never give this to a hotel because I never make phone calls or rent movies or even charge to the room so I told the front desk that I didn't need amenities. I was told that a$75/nt hold was required. This would be a $300 hold on my card. Significant for me!! She also advised me that the $25/nt amenity fee was not optional. That was another $88 off my vacation budget. Additionally because I had a car, I had no choice but to pay another $11/nt parking fee. In all the hotel wanted over $400 in fees and holds in order for me to check in. When your vacation expense budget is around $1000 this is a huge inconvenience. The location and facility are fabulous! Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. Complementary champagne on check-in. Valet is not that expensive either. The rooms are very nice and modern with fixtures. Rooms are average size and do well for family of four, but any more than four and you will find the rooms very small. The only complaints I have […] are the shower could use a fully enclosed door. They only have a half glass door, so the cold outside air comes in making you hover under the hot water and wash up quick. That and the beds were a bit hard for my taste, but you can't make them perfect for everyone I suppose. Overall a great place to stay when at Disney, or just in Orlando area for business. "Good hotel with some down sides"
First, let me say that we've stayed at this hotel four times now. We really like it, and feel it offers a good value for the money. It feels luxurious, has one of our favorite restaurants (Hemingway's!) and you can stay here for a reasonable rate, if you get one of their specials. This time around, we did have some issues. The staff was universally […] friendly and helpful, so this should not reflect poorly on them. But, the hotel (like many businesses in Orlando) is understaffed. And, they make up for the reasonable room rate by charging exorbitant rates at the bar, coffee bar, etc. We had a few drinks at the White Horse. On an afternoon when the weather was awful, many people were staying indoors. Well, they had one server and one bartender, and the drinks were awful. But expensive! Well, at least we waited forever for them... In our room, the air conditioner was extremely loud (like, couldn't hear the TV or each other loud) and didn't remove any humidity from the room. It was soup in there. The water pressure was pretty awful, and the shower was difficult to figure out. The design of the closet/bathroom, which made it impossible for one person to use the closet while the other used the bathroom, was just silly. Another downer -- the weather was so bad we couldn't go to any of the theme parks. No problem, we thought, we'd go to the pool (might as well) and have drinks at the grotto. No such luck. They closed the bar. Basically, understaffing and a lack of maintenance is hurting this hotel. We'd still stay there again, but watch the "extras" and don't expect the level of service they used to provide. Too bad. The people still working there were fantastic. "The Hotel didn't know anything about my booking"
The hotel didn't know anything about my chosen preferences. They didn't know the fact that I had paid extra for a lakeview room, so they initially gave me a room facing the parking lot. They didn't know I had prepaid their $21 daily fees, so they charged it again (I had to spend 20 minutes and finally had to email them my reservation so that they would […] take it off). "Quick Orlando family getaway"
My husband and I decided to take our 5 year old son to Orlando for a quick family getaway. When searching hotels the Hyatt seemed like the best option to meet our needs. The hotel is very nice and the rooms are clean. The 3 pools give ample space for cooling off from the hot Florida sun. The hotel is very family oriented with many activities from biking, […] boating, games and a movie night. The only negative I have is the on-site pricing. Drinks and food were out of line (ex. 2 drinks poolside totalled $28). All drinks include an automatic 18% gratuity whether you have it delivered poolside or walk up to the bar. I am happy to provide a healthy tip when it's warranted but don't assume all service is the same with the flat gratuity charge. The menu is somewhat limited at the Whitehorse Tavern however, the service was very good. Our server engaged in conversation and the next morning we found a hand written note slipped under our door from her wishing us a safe return trip home. A very nice personal touch. "Awesome Hotel with the Kids!"
We live in the area and wanted to get away from our normal routine for the weekend. The staff and the service you receive at this hotel is exceptional. The pool area is amazing and great for the kids. We stayed in January and the heated pool with slide was warm enough to stay in for the afternoon. There is a "cooler" in the room, but not a refrigerator […] that stays cold enough for milk products or medication that requires true refrigeration. When we mentioned this concern, a true mini-refrigerator was sent to our room immediately. The rooms are very comfortable. There is a balcony to step out on, but not for seating. If you book a king room, be advised that you will not have a bathtub, but a stand up shower (kids loved it) with a rain shower feature. It does leak out all over the floor, but is otherwise very nice. Dining at the hotel looked great, but the environment of each option was not really kid friendly like most of the other hotels near Disney (our young ones will not sit and be quiet for long), so we opted for take-in and enjoyed our room. There are also a lot of kid friendly options at nearby Downtown Disney and the surrounding area. We loved our stay, kids loved the hotel, pool, beach area, activities, etc., so we will be back.
