This Welches resort is 10 miles from the Mount Hood Skibowl. The Timberline Lodge & Ski Area is within easy reach, and Portland International Airport and downtown Portland are both within 45 miles of the resort.

Surrounded by 300 acres of evergreens, the pet-friendly Resort at The Mountain features 27 holes of championship golf and an 18-hole putting green. A full-service health spa provides 7 treatment rooms, a Vichy shower, steam rooms, and a relaxation area with a fireplace. Other recreation options include a seasonal outdoor pool with year-round spa tub, 4 tennis courts, a fitness center, bicycles, and regulation croquet. The fine-dining Altitude restaurant specializes in cuisine using locally and regionally sourced ingredients, and room service is available. A family-friendly pub is open seasonally. Popular for weddings and retreats, the resort offers 15,000 square feet of event space. Wireless and wired high-speed Internet access is available throughout the resort. This is a smoke-free property. A total renovation of this property was completed in December 2009.
Guestrooms.
The Resort at The Mountain has 157 non-smoking guestrooms, all with patios or balconies, beds with memory-foam mattresses, and wireless and wired Internet access. Desks include ergonomic chairs, and 42-inch wall-mounted plasma HDTVs have cable channels. Bathrooms feature bathrobes, rainfall showerheads, designer toiletries, and hair dryers. Alarm clocks have iPod docking stations, and multi-line phones include voice mail. Rooms also provide refrigerators, coffee/tea makers, and laptop-compatible safes. Pets are accepted only in certain room types.

"Ski bowl"
My boyfriend and i stayed here to have a fun birthday to be close to ski bowl. We skied @ ski bowl but the resort was not so extraordinary. It would have been better to stay in government camp b/c its right across from ski bull. It was a nice room. Would be much better in the summer when amenities are avail. "Not as nice as it seems online..."
The pictures online are very misleading...the rooms are NOT as nice as they appear and the hotel is old and run down. The cabinetry had nicks and scratches everywhere and the carpet had stains. Also, the heating system was SO loud that it woke our baby every time it kicked on through the night. The brunch in the restaurant was nicely priced (only $9.00 […] which included a drink) but it was not plentiful and the eggs were undercooked. The staff in the restaurant wasn't very attentive, either. We had to chase down people to get what we needed. I would only recommend this hotel because of its proximity to Ski Bowl. "Mt Hood forest retreat"
There is never enough said about being in the foothills of Mt Hood's majesty, location, location, location! The staff here is wonderful, using their kindness and skill to give you every opportunity to enjoy the facilities here. The room was in need of some maintenance (end of the season?) but was comfortable and had a pleasant balcony and view of the […] pool.I found sleeping difficult due to lack of fresh air unless you leave your balcony door open. The air conditioner was noisy so that kept me awake as well.(Next time, earplugs or a stick for the door) The golf course is beautifully maintained and very challenging. We were off from the rest off the hotel in the section called the ( Crofts) it's a small group of 9 rooms. We liked that. Rooms are clean, beds are firm which we liked. Bathroom has no counter space. This is a lovely property. However, the room was to have a cot and it was not there. There were a few bugs in the room. The sill on the shower was even installed backwards so that the water ran down the door and out onto the bathroom floor instead of into the shower stall. Overall, it was a nice hotel experience. They upgraded (?) us from a Resort King Room to a Suite. The extra room was nice (the suite was absolutely huge), but had no fireplace, which is what I was looking forward to. The fireplace rooms are large and comfortable. Nice place to light a fire and curl up and read a book or sit on the balcony if nice.
