We had a great time. Husbands 47'th birthday. Took full advantage of amenities, like pool, tennis, and the lovely beach. Positives, nice helpful staff, particularly Kandy in the tennis shop. Downside, if you stay in the village the feel isn't quite "Cape Cod". Also, you don't have "formal" access to the beach. DInner at the Tavern was very good with […] a cozy ambiance. My wife and I went up there with our two kids for a last minute get-away. I didn't know anything about Brewster or the Ocean Edge resort, but was very impressed with the whole place from friendliness of staff, cleanliness of rooms and overall resort. Would definitely recommend this place and I have already done so to two of our friends.

The Ocean Edge in Brewster is a lovely spot and offers a lot on the property. I would advise families to reserve in The Villages section, as the units are large and have kitchenettes. There are pools and tennis courts, and a huge golf course right there. The Mansion side however, is more to my liking, as the rooms there are more luxurious, and you are […] on the right side for the ocean. If you don't stay on the Mansion side, you have to get a sticker and pay for the beach. So, in the summer, I would advise the Mansion side for a lovely private beach, complete with chaises and umbrellas, which attendants will set up for you. Also, there is a beautiful view from the Ocean Terrace, the resort's bar and restaurant, but it was very pricey for food (and very small portions, with everything a la carte. I ordered swordfish, and it came with nothing but a small fruit salsa on top, and cost $35! Not even a vegetable or rice with it.) I would advise enjoying the view, but eating elsewhere. A mostly very nice place to stay. Main problem was there was too much chlorine in the pool and I had trouble seeing for many hours afterwards. Also, the bathtub is too small and the stopper didn't work. Didn't like that they charged you $10 extra to use the pool and facilities calling it a resort charge.. also you have to go outside from the pool to […] get to your room for many rooms and that is painfully cold. The mansion at Ocean edge is beautiful (where you check in), as is the ocean terrace restaurant overlooking the water. The golf course is lovely, and I am sure the beach in the summer is great. It has a nice bedroom, a kitchen and living room area. It has an older feel to it and looked a bit outdated. The throw rug under the coffee table was dirty in our villa and the bed was uncomfortable. It wasn't terrible by any means, just not what was expected at this price point in late september on the cape. Also we were with a large group, and were the only ones to receive a villa on the bottom level with a tile floor in every room. We were also the only ones in the group with small children, and it would have been nice to know that my room would have a tile floor when we were assigned it. We would have preferred a room with carpeting like all the other rooms for our baby. I felt the prices this time of year were unreasonable for what we received. We had to pay a charge for the amenities which we never used (not using the beach in september when it is 60 degrees). We were there one night. Other hotels don't charge for use of their pool, fitness room or grounds... I don't like being nickel and dimed when I check into a hotel/resort that is already expensive. We did look at the pool, but it definitely looked older and the water didn't seem very warm, so we decided not to swim. Read more

first room had steps and I told them no steps. The second room had the most uncomfortable bed I ever slept on. I thought the comforter might be down & pillows feather. It took over 6 hours to get someone to come in and check it out.

The hotel was in a great location, convenient to a lot of good seafood restaurants. Brewster, MA is a great town. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and would stay here again. A little overpriced but we went during the labor day weekend so that is expected. We enjoyed the bike trail, which you can access right at the hotel. We stayed here as opposed to Chatham because of The huricaine, I was assured they had generators, unfortunately not on the Village side. They did move me to a Mansion side room after a day in the dark, but the generators were not quite as represented. It was nice that dispite the weather there was an exersize room and indoor pool still available

Overall, my family had a very nice cape cod getaway. We had originally planned to go earlier but due to hurricane, we delayed 3 days. The hotel was accomodating. The staff is very nice and polite. The resort is very spread out so you should know that your villa may be across the street from the mansion (we knew from reading reviews so this was not a […] surprise to us). The room size was perfect for a family with 2 young kids. We are not big golfers, but decided to take advantage of the course and play 9 holes with kids at 4pm. That was really fun. The hotel does not seem at max occupancy the week before labor day- probably because mass kids are back in school- this made it a nice time for a NY family to go. Chatham is beautiful. Orleans had a fun baseball card shop for my son. Definately recommend you check out beaches outside the resort- Lighthouse beach, ridgeville beach, nauset beach. Read more

The rooms were generously proportioned and clean. There was a dishwasher, washer,dryer, microwave and cooker in the apartment which would be great for families or those staying longer. The amenities were close by (pool, restaurant) and the staff were really helpful.

Pros- beach during low tide, golf course maintenance. Easy drive from Boston. Cons- the prices. After charging exorbitant prices for the room, they still nickel and dime you with resort fee, internet fee, tennis court fee. They charge prevailing rates for golf which is to be expected.

Resort is impressive when you arrive. Staff are on hand to help you until 5pm then...no one. Room was average with broken shower head and tub that drained slowly. Air conditioners in hallways were leaking water and a cup was placed under it! Beach is quite 'smelly' because it is the bayside and not easy access. Stayed at the Mansion side, if I knew there were options of having a condo, I would've opted for that over a hotel room with King & sofa bed, with basic facilities in room, to get more space & kitchenette. Terrace restaurant nice, service slow & expensive, Pub is natty for a few ales. Pool is nice, indoor or outdoor. This is our second year staying in a villa on the condo side of Ocean Edge resort. We came back for the comfortable accommodations, we had a one bedroom condo with a living room with a pull-out couch for two teenage children. With the kitchenette, we had everything that we needed in the room. The lovely views from the "castle" side of the resort are […] incomparable, the amenities (indoor pools, bike rentals, fitness facilities, pub, weekly activities every week for all ages, teen night in the pool, wine tasting for adults, etc, are unsurpassed. The golf course is wonderful and the tennis club and it's pro, Jim L are outstanding. We ate a delicious brunch in the pub and had a surprisingly delicious dinner in the tavern. I was expecting burgers but they had specials that were absolutely delicious. The chef even came out of the kitchen and told me his recipe!This is a great place for a family or a couple to enjoy a vacation during April break at Cape Cod. It could only be better during the summer when the weather was warmer and the outdoor pools would be open and you could go to the beach, but we love coming when it's quieter too! Read more

The overall experience at this resort was very positive, enhanced by the fact that we came from a terrible night in another hotel that was too noisy because besides the main route on the Cape. If you are looking for the following: 1) Relaxing & beautiful surrounds 2) Family friendly setting 3) Running/Biking/Rollerblading 4) Great beach (play dumb and ask for the pass if you are on the side of the resort opposite the beach; I think they typically charge for it) 5) Proximity to cute towns, shops, etc. in the lower-cape region 6) And golf, […] obviously (though it was great for us and we don't play at all) And you don't mind: 1) Driving, driving, driving (parking is usually not much of an issue and never costs anything) 2) Spending a lot to eat Then this is the place for you. General suggestions: 1) If you are looking to save money, take advantage of the in-room kitchen (all rooms other than the hotel). Don't hesitate to dial "0" if you need anything, they'll show up fairly quickly even in the middle of the night. 2) Don't waste space bringing beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, etc., it's all provided. We stayed in one of the Britterige Villas. It was nicely furnished and modern, but nothing more than a very standard condominium-type building. Our main complaint with our room is that the floors were all ceramic tile and they were dirty. I contacted hotel staff twice, the second time in person, to complain and ask that the floors be at least swept […] (they really needed mopping), but they never were. Considering the price of the room, this is simply not acceptable. There were other issues with housekeeping as well: they didn't always bring us new shampoo, conditioner and soap, but that's very minor and forgivable if they had just cleaned our floors! They seemed to use the tile as an excuse to not have to do anything. Read more

The room was ready on time but after getting to the room it was a basement room with a serious water and mold problem. There was a huge dehumidifier running in the room to try and dry it out. The water bucket was completely full, the room smelled damp, water stains along the base boards and mold in the closet (the floors were all tile, they must have […] know of the water problem). Got the room changed to a non basement room and the sheets were dirty. The sheets had some dirt and what looked like grass (possibly from the floor when the bed was made) in them. I have no idea how they can get away with charging so much for this hotel. You're better off staying in a much cheaper hotel that will be equally if not nicer and cleaner than Ocean Edge. Read more

We had a one bedroom villa for my 2 kids and my wife. Mattresses in the master bedroom are the worst ever. Housekeep was so-so with floor not always being vaccumed, shampoo not being refilled and had to call to get new coffee pouches. On leaving after 12 days we where left with an additional charge of 268.08 dollars for state tax,room tax and resort fee. This was not clearly stated when booking the holiday. Some of the resort was not fully open i,e some outdoor pools and restaurants but this was due to being out of season although there where pools in the other areas of the complex […] open which where accessable by the courtesy bus.
