"Overall Nice but they can make it great...."
Everything is good . Customer service is friendly , but they could have been more informative about their offers and attractions near by. They even didn't offer any upgrades , they don't look like they care about why are you there. They can suggest based on the event customers are visiting. For example, if a family arrives their on a marriage day , […] they could offer next available upgrade for free or some fee etc... Almost all rooms/ are free. We went off season . Our room is clean but the lights are dull, they should replace lights with bright day lights in rooms. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not worth the money"
This resort was very over priced. The room and grounds were well kept, however the foyer to the room was dirty with leaves on the ground, and it smelled moldy. They charged a $9.95 daily fee for wi-fi, on top of all of the fees that they charge. Overall, we were very disappointed and would not go back.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good resort for playing Golf and exploring the Cap"
The Ocean Edge is a good resort if you want to play Golf and explore the Cape as it's close to the bike trail. If you expect a beach holiday or want a full service hotel holiday this is probably the wrong place. Depending where you booked or where they put you in you might be far away from the beach. In my case I was in Arbor village, which is something […] if 2 miles away from the mansion and the beach but just next to the Golf course which was fine for me. I wasn't able to reach Spa services for a massage treatment for 4 days although my complaining to the reception (they just come in by appointments and by calling the given number you land on their voice mail with no call backs). The Golf course is actually really great and they have excellent Pros there too. Also the Villa apartment they've given me was quite nice which a kitchenette and washing machine and dryer. In the beginning I had to explicitly ask them twice to change the Bed linens as they were dirty, which was a bit unpleaseant. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

was not happy - did not know that rooms were so far away from pools and beach and dining facilities - going by mini bus was not my idea of fun. The pools were very small the ocean was horrible - the beach was ugly andt to get to it down a rickety staircase for a senior citizen was not good - also when we got there the extra charges of $20 oer day was […] unexpected - had to pay the whole amount up front for reservation which is unheard of - would have left if it was not already paid for - the golf was very expensive and children were playing golf and had no idea how to which left the regular golfer in a bind - the separation of guests and owners was ridicul;ous - all we did was sleep there - would not recommend this to anyone Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Cleanliness of room"
The pictures of this hotel are very misleading. We had two condo's at The Villages and for the price we paid we were very disappointed. I will say that the kitchen, living room and bedroom are very well decorated and spacious however lacked cleanliness. Our room had only been surfaced cleaned at best. The dirty towels from the previous guests were left […] in the bathroom along with their take out boxes. Our floors were filthy and even after we notified the front desk of the condition of our room it was still not cleaned properly. We had found the plastic top of a razor shattered on the floor after they had allegedly swept and mopped the floors of the condo, unfortunately we found this when walking around barefoot. Even the microwave was covered in food. The inside of the condos are very pretty and we could have been very happy with our stay if they would have taken the time to clean our condos. This would be a great place to stay for anyone with kids as the condos have pull out beds. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Don't expect to get everything!"
When we arrived at 5 pm our room wasn't ready. When we finally got our key to a villa, drove t the it and unloaded all our luggage and toted it to the door, we walked in on a nice couple who was in the room. There was no phone number on the key or any information they gave us, so we had to load all the luggage back up and drive all the way back to registration. […] I will say, fortunately the head of customer service happened to be at the front desk and did upgrade us to the mansion to a very nice room. We had 3 adults in our group, but we got a king size bed with a pull our sofa. Therefore one person had a bad nights sleep every night. However the room was good. The next day we got towels but no wash clothes. We called at 6 pm and was told they would be right up. Never arrived. The next day, we were leaving as the cleaning crew was coming in, told them about the wash clothes and asked them to be sure to leave 3. They did, NO TOWELS. Seems they can't quite get everything right for a fairly highly rated resort. Pictures are alot nicer on web site than actual location as usual. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A little too expensive for the quality"
I wouldn't stay here again. it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't nice enough to justify the cost. Room was only spot cleaned - the floors were dirty - many of the lights wouldn't work and there were no clocks in the entire place. "Great location and staff, could work on details."
The big plus of this site will definitely be their location and their grounds, which are very good. The staff at the reception was very kind and helpful. Our room was quite spacious and comfortable. We were a bit displeased with some of the additional services. The information folder was incomplete and contained torn pages. Furthermore, the wifi was […] for us not inclusive and costed 10$/day. On top of that the wifi connection strength was poor to the extend that it was only usable on a particular spot in the room. "Ocean Edge Resort - be sure where you want to stay"
Our family of 4 had a w end breakaway at the Ocean Edge Resort. First feeling was very positive when we looked at those 2 nice mansions turned to the Ocean. Second feeling was less positive as we ended up with a room located in another part of the resort, 2 miles away inland. It has been a disappointing experience for us even if the room was nice and […] clean. Also you cannot come in before 4 PM and you have to be out by 11 AM, i am waiting for the time when we will get our room keys at 7 PM and will have to leave the room at 8 AM the next morning. "Not what I thought"
Getting an off season rate at Ocean's Edge, on hotlels.com seemed like a great President's Day excursion, but things were not as they seemed. I specifically requested a room with a whirlpool tub, which is what I was told I was getting. Unfortunately all those rooms are being renovated, which, what are ya' gonna' do. What I didn't at all care for is […] the basement level villa we were put in, (especially with not hot tub). The bigger problem with this room was no cell service whatsoever. They were gracious in switching us to another room, which was definitely an improvement. The bar and service were great, but the kicker is the $10 resort fee they tack on to your room rate. I didn't use any resort services, but mostly I find hidden fees very off putting. The rates were off season, but it is a higher end hotel and the rate was still at the limit I wanted to spend. "Very expensive, villas needs some updating"
The mansion at Ocean edge is beautiful (where you check in), as is the ocean terrace restaurant overlooking the water. The golf course is lovely, and I am sure the beach in the summer is great. The Britteridge Villas left a lot to be desired in my opinion. For what we paid in late september, I expected a bit nicer accommodations. The size of the villa […] is great. It has a nice bedroom, a kitchen and living room area. It has an older feel to it and looked a bit outdated. The throw rug under the coffee table was dirty in our villa and the bed was uncomfortable. It wasn't terrible by any means, just not what was expected at this price point in late september on the cape. Also we were with a large group, and were the only ones to receive a villa on the bottom level with a tile floor in every room. We were also the only ones in the group with small children, and it would have been nice to know that my room would have a tile floor when we were assigned it. We would have preferred a room with carpeting like all the other rooms for our baby. I felt the prices this time of year were unreasonable for what we received. We had to pay a charge for the amenities which we never used (not using the beach in september when it is 60 degrees). We were there one night. Other hotels don't charge for use of their pool, fitness room or grounds... I don't like being nickel and dimed when I check into a hotel/resort that is already expensive. We did look at the pool, but it definitely looked older and the water didn't seem very warm, so we decided not to swim. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Okay meeting location"
Had to attend a conference at Ocean Edge in early-May. Note that this is still the off-season, so dining options at the resort and around the area are very limited. My room was located on the edge of the property, and I needed my car to drive from my room to the conference. The hotel staff was very friendly, but they messed up my reservation and thought […] I was checking out after 1 night. They quickly fixed it the next day. The actual grounds are breathtaking as is the main mansion and restaurant that overlook the water. The food is outstanding and service was good too. I was highly disappointed in the fact that most of the villas, including ours, was a few miles away and completely separate from the main hotel grounds. Our villa was more like a condo complex and the parking […] was INADEQUATE....there were no spaces near our villa, so we were told to park up the hill in a small lot...but that was ALWAYS full, so we had to park about 1/2 mile away in a huge lot. I did not like the idea that our vehicle was so far away and in a lot that wasn't being watched and that I had to lug all of my belongings from the car to the villa. "Nice hotel but way overpriced and not very clean"
We stayed in one of the Britterige Villas. It was nicely furnished and modern, but nothing more than a very standard condominium-type building. Our main complaint with our room is that the floors were all ceramic tile and they were dirty. I contacted hotel staff twice, the second time in person, to complain and ask that the floors be at least swept […] (they really needed mopping), but they never were. Considering the price of the room, this is simply not acceptable. There were other issues with housekeeping as well: they didn't always bring us new shampoo, conditioner and soap, but that's very minor and forgivable if they had just cleaned our floors! They seemed to use the tile as an excuse to not have to do anything. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"If you want beach, stay at the Mansion."
Upon arrival to this beautiful resort, I was told that I would not have access to the private beach even though I was paying a daily $20.00 fee for use of the resort facilities. Only guests who are staying on the beach side (Mansion) have access to the beach. If you are staying on the other property - the other side of the main road - you may use the […] pools and other activity areas. When I asked for towels to take to a public beach where I would have to pay, I was told that I could not remove the towels from the pool areas. I found this to be unacceptable. Also, upon arriving back at my room one evening, I found my door to be left open! Since I am a single female traveler, I found this to be a bit unnerving. Luckily, nothing was missing and more importantly, no one was in my room. I called the front desk to inform them and they said they would have the manager call me back. He never called back! I called again the next morning and asked to speak to the manager. I explained my concern about security of the guests and he said this never happens. None the less, I let him know that this was unacceptable. He finally, deducted my daily activity fees and a dinner I had charged to my room. However, in all fairness, the grounds are beautiful and the food at the Ocean Terrace was delicious. The wait staff was very friendly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Low quality money sink"
This is one of those resorts that still works on the old school "once our customers are here and helpless, take them for everything they've got" business model. You'll be besieged by extra charges from the moment you check in when you're hit with a rather high "resort fee." That resort fee doesn't actually cover anything--you still have to pay extra […] for anything you'd like to do. The resturant has a beautiful view, but meals are overpriced and low quality. Low quality as in "hope nobody notices you spit the unchewable bit into a napkin" low quality. The bar downstairs is better, and probably more in keeping with the kitchen's level of ability. Staff seems to be mostly foreign exchange students who, although sweet, don't seem to be all that well trained or on top of their jobs. I'm not a golfer, so I can't speak to the quality of the course--it might be that that's so great it makes up for everything else. What else to say? I was here for a business conference on somebody else's tab, so couldn't complain too much. I would never go to this place voluntarily. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not Fantastic and over priced for what it was."
This is a fairly typical US "Resort" hotel very geared up for American families and for Corporate meetings/Seminars. It is functional and mid range in terms of quality. The staff are pleasant and friendly but are mainly ex pat students from Europe who are working their summer holidays so some of the service aspects were patchy to say the least. The […] biggest irritation was that there seemed to be no one with a professional service background in charge at peak periods so there was a lot of rushing around but no real organisation or problem resolution. I have no issue with student staff (I did this myself in my student days) but the Hotel needs to support and supervise. The property needs some updating in terms of decor and finish as well as some of the in room airconditioning equipment. We had to have a complete unit replaced due to noise and fumes. This was done with efficiency and good grace but it is not something you expect at these prices. We had "upgraded" to a deluxe room in the mansion which was very basic by European standards with an extremely old and stained carpet and while it was a large room it was not up to the standards of other hotels we used,at this level of price, on our trip. Quality of breakfast was extremely limited and, again, would not measure up to the standards I would expect and indeed encountered elsewhere at similar levels of price. I think we might go back there for the location but maybe use one of their bungalows instead of the main building. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
