This was a simple two day visit to Disney. Tried room service.....no answer. Front desk answered and took order......done....right?? No, not done. They apparently need to ask for your room number. An hour later I called wondering where the food was and I was told it was never put in because they had no idea who ordered it. Day 2 of our stay at 3:30 […] A.M. the room phone rang waking us up. I answered and some male said "your cab to the airport is here" (I'm from San Diego, so Anaheim is only an hour and a half drive). Told the guy I didn't ask for a cab.....he said sorry. "Good location but thats about it"
Unfortunately, I really have very few positive things to say about our stay at the Red Lion Hotel. When we arrived in the area we went to the hotel to see if there was anyway we would be able to get an early check in later in the day. We were told to call at 12 and speak to someone then. When we called back after 12 we were told that we could come at […] 230 and maybe we could get early check in. We know that early check in is not always available; however, when we got to the hotel at 3 the room was not ready and we ultimately had to wait until 330 for it to be ready. Additionally, the king room that we had booked was not available and we were given a handicap room. This made us feel that the staff cared very little about requests. The decor didn’t look like the pictures reminded us of a gym bathroom. All of that would have been okay, but the main problem I felt was that the drainage was horrible. Almost as soon as the water in the shower was turned on, nearly a trickle at that, the shower would begin to stop up. By the end of the shower there was a good 3" of water. The sink was slow draining as well. On a positive note, the location is great only a short walk to the park and near the garden walk and its restaurants. We will not be staying at another Red Lion Hotel especially at this location with so many great hotels with excellent customer service. When we checked in the computers were down. The staff weren't sure what rooms were taken and what was available. They were having to run upstairs to each room and check to see if anyone was in there. The hotel was clean and comfortable but the staff was dreadful. There were some high charges that we were not made aware of when we booked initially. There are no shuttles to Disneyland. The best you can get is a city bus pass that you have to pay for daily. The location is NOT one block from the main gate. It was several lights away. You are charged […] daily for parking even as a guest of the hotel. (almost as much as parking in Disneyland). If you book with a travel company, be ready to have the hotel place a sizable hold on your credit card to cover the charges until they are reimbursed. Even though you already paid, they place another hold of funds on your card until they get paid. Basically you pay twice until they get reimbursed, but whatever you were going to use on your credit card in Disneyland may be on hold by the hotel. In the middle of our stay our keys stopped working in the middle of the night. We were left in the hallway for 45 minutes waiting for a key to get into our room. It was awful. DO NOT STAY HERE! Arrived at 3 PM (hotel check in time) but was told to wait 30 min. Waited 30 and then another 30... We finally got our room at 5:20. Talked to other guests at the pool and they had the same experience. The other staffs were also unfriendly. I did not noticed any staff greating guests or had any smile on their faces. Maybe they have to take a paycut. Breakfast was horrible (worse then elementary school food). Nice pool but no spa/hot tub. hotel was clean but rooms are very small. Not walkable to Disneyland with children. So might as well stay a little farther and take shuttle. I stayed at the Courtyard Marriot and Holiday Inn before, both much better hotel.
