"Poor Customer Service"
#1 Never stay in the outside rooms, you can hear everything from the next room. Showers, TV, Doors opening and closing. #2 The hotel is a bargain compared to the conquistador but its not free so customer service needs to be upheld. Only thing they say is Sorry. Im not telling you so you can feel sorry. Im telling you so something can be done. I stayed […] in one room one night that had an ironing board and no iron. Second room had iron and no board. "It'll do, but only as a stop-over"
We stayed in Fajardo because we wanted to tour El Yunque prior to taking the ferry to Vieques. The hotel is not near any other businesses and overall is kind of depressing. The two restaurants have average-to-not-good food. The room itself was okay - no high quality experience here. The thing that really got me was their approach to pool towels. Upon […] check-in you, receive a laminated pass, with a stern warning that if you lose it there will be a $25 replacement cost. Then you have to got to the fitness center to get a towel. But you also have to tell them your name, age (!) and room number before they'll give you a really threadbare, small towel. Ridiculous. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel"
It was a nice hotel but all the rooms had a very strong moist smell. The pool area was very nice but the bar and the stores were not open because it was not high season which was disappointing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good just to stay the night"
Big rooms to have 3 queen beds. The rooms seem dirty and had bugs and some roaches. The staff was nice. The hotel served its purpose to stay over one night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"awful experience!"
When I made the reservation I asked for a room with a kitchenette b/c we had some things that needed to be refrigerated and they didn't have one. The sheets were dingy and the comforter had cigarette burns on it. They had a gym but charged us $5 a day to use it (which it didn't say online). The only reason I stayed there was because it was close to […] some of my family and it was on the cheaper side but next time I'll deff stay somewhere else.c Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Potential not realized"
Fajardo is an odd place, in that there isn't a whole lot to do there and I suspect the primary reason for travelers to wind up there is either for the Bio Bay or the Ferry. While this hotel is about a 15 minute drive to the Bio Bay, it's about 3 minutes from the Ferry. This makes the hotel ideally located for many travelers. That being said, I wouldn't […] use it for much more than a place to lay my head before or after traveling to Culebra/Vieques. There are few other choices. The building is old and could be a really great place but it smells of age - mildew, etc. In fact the A/C in the room must have been blowing spores because I came down with quite a sore throat and cold. This is really like staying in a low-budget motel in the 48 states. The bathroom is acceptable, though they only provide soap and shampoo. I couldn't find a hair dryer but couldn't be bothered to ask. The hotel has a pool but I didn't see it so cannot comment either way on its quality. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fajardo Inn is truly an "Inn" not a "Resort""
This is an economy hotel. But the pictures are deceiving making it look like a "resort". The pool bar was not staffed. So you could not get drinks at the pool. The area around the hotel is not one I would recommend at all. Run down dumpy area :( I was with my husband so it was ok, but if I was with a girlfriend I would not have stayed. I would call […] it a Howard Johnson with a big pool, but with a ghost pool bar with no drinks. A lot of Iguanas by the pool, which gave it character but when they walk up to the pool to drink water its not that funny anymore. There are two restaurants but not open all day, or at the same time. The snack shop, again not open all the time. Yes you get free internet, but it only works in the lobby and some part of the restaurant. The tile bedroom floors create a wet, humid, damp feeling all the time. The bed was not comfortable, caving in an making you cuddle not by choice. The TV was about the size of my first TV as a kid, and I'm 34 now. If I didn't speak Spanish it would have been difficult to communicate with the staff. The food at the restaurant was good. I felt like the the crowd of people that stayed there were ones of a Motel 6/Howard Johnson. Just not my place. We ended up moving to another hotel after a few nights. All I have to say is you pay for what you get. The other hotel was more than double the price but what a difference. It's an ok hotel but not for me. My husband and I were the only Americans at the resort. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Poor management"
I should qualify that the poor score for staff is the management. What should have been a satisfactory stay was spoiled by poor management. To illustrate, my husband , our 16 yo son and I went to the hotel gym facilitiy. My husband was supervising my son's strength training exercises ,when we were stopped and told that the gym is only for people 25 yo(!) […] and older (note: this was not in the gym's posted rules). We went to the front desk to see if we can speak with the manager to ask to allow our son to use their gym as this was part of his sports training regimen. First, we were told there was no manager that day and they would call us in a few minutes to get somebody. Nobody called us back so my husband later went back to the front office, made him wait for the "manager" and finally the personnel there (who we saw has been in and out of the office) told us she was the gym manager and there was nothing she could do about our request. Inept management with no common sense rules translates to poor customer service. The hotel seems it has seen better days, peeling paints. On the positive side, the hotel room is spacey, restaurant staff friendly. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Over rated"
While the hotel looks good, you are given the bare necessities. You have to ask for everything else. The owners treat the guests as thieves who will take the towels and anything else that isn't nailed down. The staff seems under pressure of too much work for the number assigned to the task. The outward appearance is nicer than the inside, an unusual […] circumstance in most hotels. Think carefully before you stay here and Beware the cancelation policies!!! "Worst pillows ever!"
Overpriced and poorly maintained. Worst pillows of any hotel I've ever stayed at (and I've traveled 2 million miles). Elevator in very rough shape, door wouldn't close without holding the door close button until the door completely closed, creeked and banged.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overrated"
It was a stop on way to Vieques. Fajardo is not very tourist focused. At the Inn, the major pool/waterslide area closed early in the evening. Suggest just flying direct into Vieques.Genuine Expedia guest review

"not what the website makes it look like!"
I was so disappointed when we arrived here! The location is horrible; nothing like what you'd expect. You're not in walking distance of anything and the "view" is of a very rundown neighborhood. You MUST have a car if you want to do anything. This IS NOT a "resort". The rooms are decent once you get inside, but the area is just awful & depressing. I […] don't know who wrote the glowing reviews here, but they mis-represent the place and I should not have booked my vacation based on these reviews - lesson learned. You will not feel like you are on a luxury vacation at this hotel. I feel bad for people who look at the photos on the website (like us!!) and end up here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"You get what you pay for"
I learned a good lesson from this trip: "You get what you pay for." I have been recommended El Conquistador from a local friend, but ended up choosing this "Inn" for a lot cheaper price. I did visit El Conquistador and Wyndham, which are more expensive resort hotels in the same area, for Casino and other attractions, and thought I would have stayed […] in those places. First of all, the floor of the guestrooms are tiled, which means there is no difference between the bathroom floor and the bedroom floor... who does that? No carpet or no wooden floor.. it's tile. I hated to see the floor got easily wet and dirty. Good things about this hotel - 1) nice location: 10-20 min drive to bio bay kayaking, nice restaurants and rain forest 2) Very knowledgeable and friendly staffs: very kind and willing to help, such as recommending the best local restaurant or making reservations for activities 3) Cheap breakfast: obviously, the breakfast isn't included, but you can have very typical American breakfast for about 8 to 10 dollar per person. Bad things: 1) Of course there is no wifi in the room but only in the lobby area. 2) quite a nice pool which was never open while we stayed there. 3) The room didn't smell good. To conclude, stay here if you are planning to spend most of your time outside of the hotel. In other words, stay here if the only thing you will do in the hotel room is to sleep and a quick shower. You don't want to stay in the room that long, and that's a big problem for a hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Obvious leaks in room"
Arriving in PR late and wanting to make the trip to Fajardo at night instead of during the morning PR commute, we choose to stay at this hotel because of its walking distance to the Fajardo ferries and on premises restaurant. Everything appeared to be going fine until we got to our room and was greeted by water in the doorway. With a very effortless […] look around, we discovered that the toilet tank was VERY OBVIOUSLY leaking and the room had a very interesting smell. Being that it was after midnight and we were leaving first thing in the morning, we reported the leak and asked for lots of towels for floor which did not prevent water from spreading. WHY WAS THIS NOT CAUGHT BEFORE? we asked... in the morning we again reported the problem to the front desk where we discovered that along with our reported problem, there were a sheet full of "issues" for the hotel to address... it was not a one off problem Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Lack of service..."
The buildings and grounds were picturesque and well maintained. Cumbersome to get towels to use the pool . No clock in room, couldn't get an extra pillow, few towels, small TV screen, small table in room with no desk space. Hospitality is not their strong suit. Restaurant server needed prompting to refill water or coffee, etc. Overall not too comfortable […] but adequate. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Facility ok (not resort quality), service poor"
Front desk employees were pleasant and helpful, but the issues with checking in and obtaining towels were frustrating. While waiting for my room to be ready, I went to the pool to sit outside and order lunch. It took the snack bar staff an hour to obtain a restaurant menu for me (the snack bar was out of meal-like food) and after I ordered quesadillas, […] it took 2 hours to get them! When I first got them, it was someone else's order (burrito). My quesadillas eventually arrived and were so-so. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice pool area"
Overall the Hotel was not bad. Front desk was always helpful. Pool area was large, clean, well looked after. The Restaurants were great. The Food was a good deal for the price, and the staff were very attentive and friendly. During our stay however, they were painting all the other rooms surrounding ours. Most of the noisy work (moving furniture around) […] was done during the middle of the night making sleep impossible. A nice heads up would have been nice, or at least an offer to Change rooms. "Fajardo Inn kann ich nur weiter empfehlen."
Das Management ist nicht so das Wahre, aber es funktioniert teilweise. Die Angestellten sind nett und freundlich, aber haben die Puerto Ricanische Mentalität. Schade ist nur die W-Lan Anbindung. Funktioniert leider nur in bzw. an der Lobby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
