The hotel staff was freindly and had a quick check in and out. The breakfast was horrible and we walked to the Denny's right behind the hotel. The location was excellent, right off the highway and close to everything. The room was just ok and not the greatest. The bathroom sink dripped all night long and there was toliet paper holding the fan cover […] to the ceiling. On top of that there was black mold on the bathroom wall above the shower. I believe this hotel is much underrated. It is in a great location- close to mall of america and across from wal-mart in case you forgot something. We also had our 4 month old with us and the hotel had a great set up for us to wash his bottles conveniently. All in all, Im very happy we chose this hotel.

We weren't sure what to expect since we'd gotten such a good rate, but figured it'd be ok since we weren't planning to spend much time at the hotel. Room had two beds, plenty of room for a packNplay, and a cute window bench/reading nook that my son wanted to sleep in rather than sleep with his sister :-) There is a WalMart literally across the street […] for anything you may need (like diapers, wipes, etc) and a Denny's literally next door --easier to walk than to re-park. My hubby isn't a fan of the freeway and found that we could get to the Mall of America by just staying on American Blvd which runs right behind the hotel. There were some odd ink stains on the walls in the bathroom but everything was clean. First hotel I've stayed in without little shampoos in the room, but the front desk had some and usually we bring our own anyway. Friendly folks, nice stay. Read more

The walls at this hotel are very thin. We could hear every conversation on all sides and even from above. The plumbing makes a high pitch whine, which I found out when the party above us took a shower at 4 am. The shower curtain rod was wobbly on the wall, but other than that the overall maintenance of the room was pretty good.

The hotel did not provide the mini bottles of shampoo or conditioner. Upon requested, we had to go to the front desk and were provided with a conditioned shampoo in a ketchup like packet. The rugs in the room as well as the hallway were in dire need of cleaning. The wall to wall mirrors and lights above the beds were surprising. Wireless internet didn't work the entire time we stayed there. Never got enough bath towels. Bed linens were stained terribly and torn. Housekeeping came to early and there was not a "Do Not Disturb" door tag available to pace on the door so housekeeping didn't wake us up.

Good value for the price and convenient to airport and Mall of America. Free shuttle is a bit misleading as they only pay one way either arriving or leaving. We dropped off a rental car and had to pay a taxi fare of nearly $20 to return to the Microtel. They use a taxi to shuttle people to airport. Super clean and comfortable. Room is small but that's why they call it Microtel. Flat screen TV was awesome. Across the street from Walmart. About ten minutes from MSP on the shuttle (taxi). Highly recommended.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. We picked becasue of location. Very convinient as it's across from WalMart, right on the freeway. Price is good. But, the room is kind of sad. Main bed is comfortable but sofa bed needed a new mattress. Blanket felt like dead cat fur. Door keys needed to be changed daily which was inconvinient. I would NEVER stay here again. Not only were we unable to get connecting rooms with our children, nor rooms near each other. We ended up having to stay an extra night due to weather and on the last night of our stay my son woke up covered in red ants. This was our second visit to a Microtel. It was not as lavish as the Fort Worth Texas location we stayed at but the climate in Minnesota doesn't allow for that. We chose this motel for the low price,but we still didn't get our money's worth. It said free wireless in the rooms, but we couldn't get a connection. I asked the front desk about it and he said they've had that problem for months but the manager hasn't done anything about it. The only place it worked was in the lobby.The guy at the desk wasn't helpful […] at all, and didn't seem to care. For some reason we were given a handicapped room. There was no shampoo and the soap was wrapped in a water stained wrapper with a dime stuck to it. The room also has a room-length mirror behind the bed. Just kinda weird to me. My room was a little battered. I was supposed to have a non-smoking room, but was booked into a smoking room. Other than that (which was a fairly big deal as the clothes in my suitcase smelled like smoke) the hotel was a good value. Great location. Near all the action but on a low-traffic street.

The hotel was fine except the carpet in our room was a little under the weather. We stayed here so that we could catch an early shuttle to the airport. Asked for a 5:15 shuttle, were told we could only get one on the half hour, so opted for 5:00 am and when we got to the desk found a cab waiting (they paid for the cab).
