"The Staff were Great!"
The hotel could use a facelift, however the service was fantastic and the room was adequate, but again looking tired. Bathrooms need to be refurbished. The staff at this hotel were very pleasant, and went out of their way to be helpful. Will stay here again, even without any upgrades.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A good place in Port Angeles"
This was a convenient place to stay before catching the ferry to Victoria. I was pleasantly surprised at the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms, and it was nice to walk the bike path before retiring for the evening. The restaurant was a plus, the quality of the food was above average. We had both breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. Since many […] people stay at the hotel and take the ferry in the morning, I think that it would help if the hotel promoted a "fast option" breakfast. We ordered from the menu, and had to rush to catch the ferry. Also, I think the proximity to the bike path could be a plus for the restaurant in the future. The bike path isn't quite finished yet, and is not the attraction I think it will be when it is. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to the Ferry"
The personnel were great, but not so the accomodations. Noisy A/C and Toilet. Restuarant not as good as it used to beGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice room with water view"
We loved our room! We had a view of the water and a balcony that we could sit on and relax!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel with beach view"
We stayed for a day in the beach front room. Overall the stay was fine. The room was clean. And the ocean view was nice. On the bad side, bathroom door didn't have lock, and the bathroom fan didn't run. My biggest complaint was the bed, it was a poor quality mattress, and sinks in to the middle. And the bed is raised to 3 feet+ which is a concern for […] making out 2 year old sleep. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
My husband and I stayed at Red Lion for 3 nights during our recent vacation to the PNW. It is so close to the ferry and you can walk everywhere from there - which is what is more important to us than most things. Overall, it was a nice stay. The staff does not seem that motivated to be there and the restaurant staff seemed super-inexperienced...we wondered […] if it's like that across the board in Port Angeles though...how maybe most available jobs there are really for tourism and that's the only thing they could get. The food was good at the Crabhouse, but not the best. Also, breakfast was sub-par...you can get a lot more for the same price (if your breakfast is not included in your rate) right down the street. "Great location, easy ferry access"
Very convenient in coming off the ferry late at night from Victoria. Greatest shower pressure of the 7 hotels we stayed in during our trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Port Angeles to Victoria"
If you decide not to take your car on the ferry to Victoria and want to stay in Port Angeles, the Red Lion would be the best place to book. Although it is a big chain hotel and not the most modern, look past those points and enjoy the proximity to the ferry dock. If you stay in Victoria for a night or two or three, you can leave your car at the Red […] Lion for a nominal fee. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"One night stay."
Enjoyed a short one night stay. The staff personnel were very friendly. The seaside room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a very good meal in the restaurant. If there is to be a complaint, it is that there was no "stair-free" entry to the doorway near our room which meant pulling luggage up and down steps.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel was very nice, clean, and the staff was excellent. The location was great and area restaurants yummy. It's a great place to stay if you are headed to Hurricane Ridge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"convenient to Ferry Terminal"
worked out well for our beginning of vacation...caught the early morning ferry; so Hotel was next door and made for convenient departure.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location to Olympic N.P."

"Very close to beach!"
The AC unit was very, VERY loud and kept me up all night, But it was too stuffy without it running. Otherwise everything else was greatGenuine Expedia guest review
"Olympic National Park Tour"
The location cannot be beat. It is very convenient to restaurants and we had a room with a beautiful view of the water and Mount Baker.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel in Perfect Location"
We were very pleased with the size, cleanliness and overall condition of the room. The microwave and frig are. great plus. You can't beat the location. We walked to the ferry and the park entrance is close by. It was a pleasure to watch the cruise ships sail by.Genuine Expedia guest review

We enjoyed three nights at the Red Lion. Good place to use as a base to travel around the beautiful areas.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice stay"
Traveling to BC and want to catch an early ferry, so came up to Part Angles the night before. We were just going for a long weekend and wanted to walk onto the ferry, for a fee you can leave your car at the hotel. Short walk to the ferry from the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel close to walking/running path and dock."
Enjoyed the views from the observation tower on the dock. Nice setting near active harbor. Restaurant had great local cuisine. Much to explore in the nearby Olympic National Park. Be sure to visit Hurricane Ridge. Great views on a clear day.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice place to stay if you want to stay close to water and all the restaurants and shopsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Stay was great except their were no large bath towels in the room. Drying off with a hand towel was a little interesting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location to catch the MV Coho Ferry"
Reasonable price, clean and easy walk for meals. We enjoyed our stay & found the place warm & inviting.Genuine Expedia guest review
Though I thought it was a bit pricey, the view of the water from the hotel bed, and getting the room at the end of the hotel, top floor, made this a great experience. Staff was relatively friendly, but seemed too busy at times to help.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"On the water"
Very convenient location on the water and nice hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location and comfortable room."
Port Angeles is lovely and the view and beach were great. Would have appreciated a few things to be nicer given the price. Booked the room for 4 and got 2 plastic cups and to paper coffee cups. There is no newspaper provided (even for purchase) on site. The pool is in the parking lot- Lacks shrubs to conceal.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Shop Hop overnight"
We booked the stay to end our first night of Western Washington Shop Hop as it was the furthest city away from us. The staff was friendly and the room was nice. The restaurant was nice and the bartenders fun. Breakfast was fast and good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Why we keep coming back"
The Red Lion in Port Angeles is located on the Straits between the US & Canada (Vancouver Island) provides great views of the harbour and is within walking distance of the ferries to Canada (very convenient for those travellers who want to spend the day in Victoria or the week on Vancouver Island. This location is also a great spot to begin and end […] your travels into and around Olympic National Park and the Pacific beaches. The Crab Pot restaurant is delightful (try the crab omelet for a real treat), with other good restaurants (i.e., Kokopelli) nearby as well. The rooms (we stayed on the second floor, ocean side) was large, comfortable, very clean and well appointed. What's not to like? We'll be Back! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good location hotel"
Hotel is within walking distance of downtown restaurants...also has a nice walking trail along the coast right outside the door.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel is close to park entrance to Hurricane Ridge observation center; very beautiful. The room was large and spotless; very nice. The resturant was over priced and right out of the 50's. Food was aweful. There is a Wendy's on hwy 101. The drive to the beaches two hours west of Port Angeles is a ride through miles of trees and no real views; the beaches […] are not easily accessed and very average; no wow factor. About four hours of wasted driving time. I would rate the city of Port Angeles a C-. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Good value. Good location. Very convenient to ferry.Genuine Expedia guest review
Recommend getting a room with seaview - it is really worth it. Really nice with refrigerator and microwave in the room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Room w/a view"
Overall it was pretty nice. Although in need of an upgrade. The carpet was very dingy, no weatherstripping on the door, the balcony rail was rickety & the bathroom had a bit of mold. The bed & pillows were super comfy. The toiletries were great. The very best feature was the spectacular view.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"On Your Way to Victoria"
Perfect place to stay if you are catching the Victoria Ferry.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Ideal location for Port Angeles/Victoria Ferry"
Nice place... Stayed here a few times.. This time the room was so cold, even with the heater on full. Went back to front desk and was upgraded to a harbour view room with a new heater.. Very friendly front desk man... Room still took forever to warm up... They were huge heaters, so I assume the hotel is able to set them on a summer heating, as even […] at full power, it was like cold air blowing out.. I'd be hesitant about staying here if the outside temp. dipped to freezing, unless I carried a portable heater with me. ...Other than that, I really like thew place.. Friendly staff, and the restaurant food isn't too bad, if the chef would learn how to cook a steak to order.. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel on the beach!"
We loved the second floor facing the ocean!!!!!!! The restaurant was great for breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A little grungy, but worth the view!"
"Splurge" for a water view room, it's spectacular and there is a beach front path to enjoy too!Genuine Expedia guest review
The only concern I have is I reserved an"exterior" room. I thought that meant a room with a view of the bay. However, that meant a room with a balcony. Be careful of descriptive words when reserving rooms. Make sure you know exactly what you are getting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fall 2012 Waterfront View Room"
Hotel location was great, close to ferries; the room was nicely furnished, clean, neat and spacious.Genuine Expedia guest review
"great place to stay night before the ferry"
Very comfy bed and very clean room. Since I was travelling by myself, I appreciated the key cerd entry and that all doors were inside.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel and community are perfectly located for a visit to the Olympic park area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We enjoyed our stay. Close to the FerryGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"right on the water"
accessible rooms, friendly staff, good food and drink with small but friendly bar.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location and excellent staff. Bathroom shower had extensive mold - easily wiped away, and cleaned when we requested it. But if you don't do routine maintenance to remove mold, you get permanent staining, which requires replacement of the entire grout and caulking. Penny wise, maybe, but pound foolish, and yucky to look at!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was pleasantly surprized as the write ups of many of the previous visitors were not very good. However our room was clean, very comfortable and afforded us a good nights sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location. Nice view for waterfront. Rooms could be in better condition.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean, quiet (even though room was right next to ice machine). Small TV - had fuzzy pic, but didn't bother addressing with hotel staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful Gateway to Olympic Park!"
spend the extra $20 on the ocean front rooms...totally worth it! only bad thing I could think of is the on-site restaurant...we tried going our first night there (we'd had a long day of traveling & just wanted some quick food & a drink or seven), however we were ignored by the hostess for about 5 minutes while she and some of her coworkers got in some […] sort of a fight. We left without ever being acknowledged and gladly, we found another restaurant walking distance from the hotel right on the pier with a wonderful view of the water/sunset!
