"Recent stay"

"Rooms smell odd - But great location"
While I liked the proximity of the hotel to the trendy Downtown area, the rooms (mine and my friends) had an odd smell that I cant describe. Plus the shower would run out of hot water. "Slow wifi, small rooms, lack of wall outlets"
There was only two outlets in the room itself, I had to unplug the tv to plug my laptop in. I had to move the bed and unplug the clock radio as I have a cpap. The room had a smell. The internet was so painfully slow I ended up tethering my phone which could only get a 3g signal on verizon and this was actually faster. Why this place has 4.1 stars is […] beyond me. "Good night's rest, but everything else subpar"
I stopped by Highland Country Inn for a night when I was on my way to Los Angeles since it had great reviews on Hotels.com. However, I was a bit disappointed, and I wish I would've stayed at the Super 8 or Howard Johnson off I-40. Highland Country Inn's location is a bit away from the highway, and there weren't many places to eat within the immediate […] vicinity. I saw a local sports bar/restaurant and a Jack-In-The-Box, but that was it. I wanted to walk to see if there was anything within walking distance, and there was nothing to see. However, I did find this nice restaurant, but only because I had Yelp and GPS on my phone. Also, the wifi in my room (214) was spotty/useless. I asked some other travelers across the way from me, and they said it worked fine. "Never again for more than one nite"
We went up for our son's NAU orenitation and spent two nites. Hotel is close to NAU which is great, however the first day both our key cards had to be rekeyed. Desk clerk said well isn't someone in there? What does that have to do with the key card. Pros: Clean and Large rooms, all amenities except coffee maker, free toiletries, proximity to all attractions in flagstaff. Cons: A bit costly in comparison with other hotels. No breakfast included. "Disappointed"
Old, rundown and overpriced. Have stayed in very inexpensive chain hotels that I expected the level that I found at this hotel. Had I gone to one of those I wouldn't have been sursprised to get what I was paying for. No pool, unfriendly staff and the grounds were trashy.
