"Wow! So pretty, so relaxing and close to stay at"
Took this as a quick overnight stay while having some fun on a Friday night in Boston. Gorgeous lobby, super nice check in, Lobby bar and restaurants looked great and sounded like they were hopping with action (no time to check them out personally). I stayed on the fourth floor, facing the firestation that so many people have complained-- THERE IS A SIX LANE HIGHWAY BETWEEEN THE HOTEL AND FIRESTATION. The windows don't open in a climate controlled room, so it was blissfully peaceful. So peaceful that I quickly popped in after check in before dinner and found that although the road had rush hour traffic, there was not a peep in my room. So quiet I could hear my watch tick. The bathroom was larger than most new york apartments, the luxurious bathtub and shower are seperate and super spacious in both. Bed super comfy soft, desk chair was even comfy. Took a point off for location, because yes, there are hotels closer to T stations and in the center of town. m the very beginning I didn't get the service of a 4 and 1/2 star hotel. The concierge provided us with the wrong excursion departure info for the boat tour and we ended up waiting extra half hour for it. Also we ended paying more for city tour bus trip then we would have if we got tickets at the bus departure station. We were assured though, that the […] prices are exactly the same! Not to mentioned that we were not told that there are many companies doing these tours. Censored fridge in the room, leaves you with personal space enough for 3 cans of pop, that is it and touching the rest will cause unnecessary discussion about these charges at the check-out, which by the way your will get charged for if you check-out later then 12PM. Internet is $15 per day! Even in their business center they charge for it! And if you are trying to use their boarding pass free printing system (some of us still like paper), it will take 10 min to load! "Horrible doorman..."

We went with high expectations But we were very disappointed with the room and staff . To begin with 3 of our 4 days we had to call for problems with our room . Be it cleanliness ,lack of clean floors ,day before glasses never replaced ,TV not working half the time and terrible mattress . I complained about the mattress and I was told that everyone […] had the same mattress and some people liked them and some didn't .Seriously that is what I was told. I will give a special kudo to Ivan and Joe at the front door as well as Inialta when we checked in . Great location, close to all the historical points and South Station is only 3 blocks. The hotel is great, rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel restaurant is a little pricy, but there are plenty of places to eat around there. The hotel sits right on the Harbor and has beautiful sunset and rises. We completely enjoyed our two-night stay at the Intercontinental Hotel. The location was perfect - right on the harbor and only a five minute walk to Quincy Market, great restaurants, and the T. Our two children (ages 7 & 10) loved the pool and the big soaking tub! It was a fantastic hotel bathroom for a "basic" two double bed room! We found the staff […] to be very friendly and helpful. Truly, the only downside was the cost of parking ($40 per day) but we found that to be on par with most area hotels.
