A National Historical Landmark and formerly the Charles Street Jail, The Liberty Hotel - A Starwood Luxury Collection Hotel retains the original granite work and cupola built in 1851. The street-level entrance, redesigned by Alexandra Champalimaud, leads to the atrium and reception area through a narrow passage featuring mahogany stained walls. Escalators, embellished by tile mosaics of people once imprisoned at the jail, lead to the central 90-foot atrium. Catwalks provide access to guest and meeting rooms located in the adjacent 16-story guest tower. Alabi serves cocktails and features preserved jail cells, barred windows, original stonework and an outdoor patio. CLINK Restaurant provides an upscale seasonal menu from Executive Chef Joseph Margate, while Scampo features Italian fare from chef Lydia Shire. A 24-hour fitness center offers cardiovascular and weight-training equipment. Wireless Internet access is complimentary throughout the hotel.

Liberty Bar - Located within the 90-foot lobby rotunda of the hotel. Extensive wine and cocktails list features house-infused liquors and tasty treats like Veal Sliders and addictive Spicy Mixed Nuts.
Catwalk - Housed on a catwalk encircling the lobby's rotunda with stunning views. Serving a dinner and bar menu featuring a selection of items including Baked Oysters Casino with Butter, Shallots and Bacon; Mushroom Sliders on Brioche with Cream Cheese and Sherry; and a twist on the classic with Ralph's Potato Chips with Smoked Truffle Salt.

We stayed at the Liberty for a quick 2-day visit to Boston and thought this hotel was fantastic. Be sure to watch the history of the conversion from Jail to luxury hotel on the TV in your room! Our main mode of transportation was the subway and this location was perfect - right across the street from a RED line stop. Enjoyed our stay at the Liberty very much....only complaint is that we never received housekeeping services in our room, when we were away during the day. We had to call for fresh towels late one night and then complain to the front desk the next evening when we returned to our room, and it still had not been cleaned. We were very impressed with the overall appearance of the hotel...especially the lobby area! The Clink restaurant is a great place to start your day with a delicious breakfast and excellent service. In the evening, the lobby area is a wonderful spot to unwind in a comfortable arm chair or couch with a cocktail. Our room was quite spacious and pleasant, […] but we never received regular housekeeping services during our stay. We made a point of telling the front desk that no one had cleaned our room (2 days) in a row and were given complimentary vouchers for a free breakfast. This was the one downside to our stay...that we had to call for fresh towels @ 10:30 at night and then again the following day ask that someone please clean the room @ 6:00 PM! The hotel is built around an old city jail and the architects did an amazing job of incorporating the "old with the new". It had very nice outdoor patios for drinks or relaxing. The location on Charles St. was just a block to all the Charles Street restaurants and shops. "Family Vacation"
I liked the Liberty Hotel for all but 2 things: 1. Water Pressure was too much and water gets everywhere in the bathroom. 2. Showerhead was broken and sprayed water up to the ceiling which ruined the plaster. The plaster fell into the shower during use. In practically every way The Liberty was a great experience. The Clink restaurant was lovely and priced just fine. However, i forgot my fleece jacket in the closet. This is such an interesting hotel. It's history is that it is a former jail. You would never expect it to be turned into such a luxurious place. 스타우드럭셔리 계열이라는 기대를 안고 시설부분은 의심하지도않고 3명이 묵어야해서 디럭스룸으로 예약했었다. 보스턴 가는날 비행기가 연착되는 바람에 오전 7시가 다되어 호텔첵크인을 하게되어 샌프란시스코공항에서 미리 예약 연기를 요청하는 전화를 했었는데 이미 예약시 지불이 끝난 방이라 예약변경이 절대 어렵다고 했다. 대신 내가 요청해서 체크아웃시간을 3시로 연장해 주었다. 실망스럽게도 3명이 묵기에는 너무도 좁은 디럭스 객실과 바로 병원건물이 접해있어 전혀 뷰가 없는 호텔방은 보통 3-4성급호텔 수준밖에 안 되었다.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
