Water flows alongside and underneath milk-glass steps that illuminate a staircase leading to the marble-floored lobby. The on-site Stanhope Grille features an exhibition kitchen and seasonal outdoor dining on a sunken plaza. The restaurant serves American-style grilled favorites and traditional Irish breakfasts. Cuffs, An Irish Bar, features a two-sided gas fireplace and a burled cherry-wood bar. The bar serves Irish brews, martinis and wines by the glass. The hotel's business center is open 24 hours. Wireless Internet access is complimentary throughout the property. Other business-friendly amenities include a conference center and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. The staff was so friendly and the place was so clean. If I were to complain about anything is was the air conditioning in the room, it got very cold and was blowing on my head. "Back Bay Hotel in Boston - needs new mattresses"
We loved the location but were dissappointed on a few things. There was a parade the day we arrived and the streets were blocked. We were told by valet to drive around until parade ended (90 minutes later). We parked at a garage and walked....no compensation provided by hotel even though we mentioned we had to walk with luggage from a garage. The room […] was very clean with an enormous bathroom. The linens were high end but the mattress visibly sagged when you sat on the edge. Both of us woke up with terribly sore backs. My friend lost her wallet in the elevator which was turned into the front desk. We asked at the desk if a wallet was turned in and were told no. Then a person in the lobby noticed us looking around the floors and in our luggage and asked if we were looking for a wallet. He said he had turned it into the desk. We returned to the desk and were told again that nothing was turned in. We pointed out the person who said they had turned it in and then guess what.....the front desk found our wallet. My sister and I recently visited Boston for the first time and stayed at The Back Bay Hotel - we were very pleased with our decision!!! The style of the hotel was really cool and our room was quite nice. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful including the door men, front desk clerks, wait staff, etc. A short walk from Copley Square and […] some cool spots in the South End, but a slightly longer walk to some of Boston's other tourist sites...but even then it was only about a mile and a half walk to the farthest end of the North End. I really like this hotel. They were very hospitable without being overbearing. They met my specail requests for a quiet room with a bathtub on a very busy weekend and the bar every night was hopping. They made it very easy to book a last minute extra night when I know the hotel was packed for a convention. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and I would highly recommend it. It is close to lots of shops restaurants and theatres and one of the best things is I felt very safe being out at night as opposed to other cities I have visited.
