"Dirty"
Thankfully we weren't planning to spend much time at the hotel other than to sleep. The bathroom was moldy and mildewy and the floor was gross. The carpet was stained and the walls needed fresh paint. Over the weekend I don't think the housekeeper did much besides empty the trash and take the tip. We didn't get fresh towels. The woman at the desk references […] "limited housekeeping" on weekends, but I didn't see that in any of the literature. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Pleasant hotel"
If you are looking for a Marriot experience, you will not get it. The hotel was built a long time ago. It has historical kick to it, which may be a turn off for some people. But given it has a long history, update has been made and maintained decent. It was very quite (stayed on the 7th floor) and felt it had very good wall insulation. Continental breakfast […] was good as well. Didn't have cook your own waffle station but had variety of breads and drinks. Also has business center where you can take care of internet needs. "about as central to the places I wanted to see it"
Small room, but by myself so the fact I had a queen room, which was about 15ft by 12ft, so not spacious, if there are two of you, one person gets about a 9 inch walkway to get into bed. TV was old, could do with flat screens tbh. Installing a few extra wifi hubs wouldn't go amiss, as many have commentated connectivity was a bit random. If these two […] things were improved, I'd think of staying again as I was here for RedSox games, but if not would look elsewhere for my next trip. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean and convenient location"
The hotel is kind of old but in good condition. Rooms are small but comfortable. Breakfast was good enough to start up our day. Loved the location, we wanted to visit Boston's historic sites and this Hotel is near by all of them.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very convenient location"
The hotel is located in a very convenient location to some of the best places to visit while in Boston. The hotel is an older building with smaller rooms, but the room was comfortable and had everything a hotel room should have for convenience. The breakfast is continental with good variety of cereal, fruit, juices and coffee. Beside the great location, […] the staff of this hotel is wonderful - very accommodating and helpful. I will stay in this hotel every time from now on because of the convenience to the Back Bay T station, the staff, and the location to good restaurants, and shopping. "Run-down but good location"
The parking garage was across the street, no valet, very few people on site to help you, and there was not a soul in site at 11pm on a weeknight- a bit scary. I asked for security to come out and meet me at the hotel, they said they didn't do that. It was really run-down and tattered but clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Get What You Pay For."
This is an old school hotel. I stress the old. It has not been kept up at all. A simple paint job would work wonders. When I checked in I asked for the internet code and the woman said "We can't guarantee internet connections in the room." I asked "Then why do you a What You Pay Fordvertise that you do?" She threw her hands up and said "Don't ask me. […] That's what I'm told to say." OK. Whatever. It was inexpensive and I got what I paid for. The heat working was a plus. "Nice Hotel, Too Costly for being so old."
The Hotel room was old, the old appliances and sinks were very evident that a remodeling could be necessary. The early time for Breakfast ending at 9 am every morning is also a TURN-OFF! Most continental breakfast's end with hotels at 10:30. With the rooms being so small and pricey, the least they can do is extend the time on breakfast. The staff was […] nice. "Quick Overnight in Great Location, On a Budget"
The hotel is in a great location, with relatively affordable self-parking in a garage (for Boston!). It was safe, continental breakfast was nice and within seconds we could be in beautiful Back Bay. The downside: hotel is significantly outdated. But everything was clean and in working order. So if you are on a budget, this is a great spot.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not great for business-or-any travels, be aware."
First, the good. The hotel was in least expensive one that I could find, being there were 5 other conferences around the area, this had to do. The staff at the lobby was very nice and worked quickly to answer my question. There's free breakfast and a free business center with copier, and the Bay Bay Station for the T is about 1.5 block away. That's […] really about it for the good. The bad: the hotel was in a dark alley directly across a parking garage. I thought I went in through the back entrance, but that was it. The rooms are VERY outdated with a wore out look like it should have been torn down in the early 2000s. There was 1 available power outlet in the room, O-N-E. That's a bit crazy for a business hotel. The wireless internet was "not guaranteed" for a higher floor (7th) even though the description said wireless internet for every room. To top it off, their staff refused to provide housekeeping service to the rooms except for changing the towels due to the passing of their general manager. Even though the letter they left in the room said that you could request it, they flat out refused when I asked. I feel for them in difficult time like this, but I also believe that the customers should not have to suffer. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Dismal hotel"
Old, tiny, ancient bathroom, dirty walls, moldy shower curtain, completely dated hotel. There is absolutely no charm and it is just dingy all the way around. The rooms are so tiny that there isn't even room for a chair. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and it wasn't inexpensive either. The only decent thing is it's location; it is in the great […] Back Bay Area and easy to get everywhere! Other than that, it is not worth your money!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent Location / Nice / Quiet / Comfortable"
I found this hotel on an Expedia hotel search of places located in the Back Bay area of Boston. I was looking for a hotel for one night, 2 people, for under $200 (during the week) and this one came up. This hotel was a little tricky to find, due to all the one way streets in the area, but once I found it was so pleased. It is very convenient to so many […] places to go and see in the Back Bay area and just to get around Boston via the T. I wish I had stayed longer. I would definitely go back! I was able to park on the street for an hour at a meter spot while I unloaded my car and then there is a parking garage right across the street that cost $23 (discounted by the hotel) for a 24 hour parking stay... not bad, considering I had to have a car due to my other travels in the area. If you don't have to have a car, don't, so many other ways to get around anyway. Seriously, this hotel is perfect for anyone wanting to spend a few days or a nice long weekend in the Back Bay area of Boston, quiet, comfortable bed, free wifi in the lobby area and they have a business center where you can hook up your computer, and a complimentary continental breakfast (cereal, fruit, bagels, juice, coffee - just enough to get the day started). "Great location"
Prior to staying in this hotel, I read reviews on both hotels.com and yelp.com, and became very nervous about the condition of the hotel. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. The lobby was clean and the employees at the desk were efficient and friendly. My boyfriend and I stayed on the 6th floor, which was convenient to the continental breakfast […] (5th floor), and the vending machines (7th floor). Expecting stains on the walls and rusty faucets, we opened the door and were again surprised. While the room could be considered “small,” it was clean, nicely decorated, and had a wonderful view of the Prudential. The size of the room was not an issue for either of us! While the bathroom was a little cramped and some of the tile was chipped, it was also clean, had sample toiletries, and had no rusty faucets! We LOVED the location (a 2 minute walk to the Back Bay and Copley stops/stations), and we thought the hotel was great. After our room was cleaned, my boyfriend noticed that they actually shined the doorknob, too- nice touch! Our only complaints are that the bathrooms should be updated in the near future (old tile/shower), and that the continental breakfast should have more than cereal, bagels, and muffins. However, both served their purpose and did not affect our opinion of the rest of the hotel. The rates were reasonable for a hotel in the heart of Boston. We definitely plan on staying again! "very friendly service"
The hotel is easy to miss because it has a very small sign. One cab I took had no idea where it was, though it's on Copley Square. The location was wonderful with very easy access to 2 T lines. The staff was extremely helpful with directions to everywhere that I wanted to go. The room was small with no frills, but had all the basic necessities, even […] an iron and ironing board. I didn't like the push button type faucets on the bathroom sink because it was hard to control the flow of water and there was no stopper in the sink. The daily cleaning service didn't wipe off my sink or empty the ice bucket, but otherwise everything was fine. I thought the price was expensive but it was comparable to other hotels that I looked at in Boston. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good location, mediocre quality."
The hotel is in a great location, 1-2 min walk to Newbury, Copley, Prudential, etc. The continental breakfast was better than I expected. The bathroom in my room, however, was another story. The shower/tub was missing paint chips and did not drain very quickly. Yuck. You can see into the adjacent bathroom through the vent without even trying to look. […] Creepy. The doors are so thin that I could clearly hear the lyrics to "You Got It Bad" being sung in the shower across the hall from me. Overall, I probably wouldn't stay there again unless there was a nicer room available. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not Happy!"
Well, it's a convenient location. It's hard to find as the main entrance as it is not really well marked. It's relatively quiet for downtown Boston. The problem is that the Hotel is aging and the maintenance does not keep up and they don't have staff on site. They are dreadfully understaffed in the off-hours. I got locked out of my room because of deferred […] maintenance. The electronic door no longer worked. There was nobody to talk to in management although the desk staff was quite nice. They had absolutely zero staff on site off-hours. They had to call in some from a "sister" hotel which took a while. So over an hour later they determine that it is the batteries in the door! WHAT? When do you change them? When they wear out? I got nothing for being out of my room for over an hour! DO NOT BOOK! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The room desperately needed a paint job. Scuff marks, chipped corners and generally dingy.
