"Great location"
Location is terrific! Rooms are well maintained and nicely appointed, but VERY tiny. It was the smallest bed I've ever seen in a hotel!! My husband's feet actually hung over the edge. After a long day, I walked into my room late at night and was greeted with mellow jazz music and soft mood lighting. If I had been with my husband it would have been great but I was with my daughter looking at our last college for the week. A pleasant, small, hotel in the heart of Back Bay and so convenient for the Public Library, Copley Square and the Pru Mall. Since it was freezing cold in Boston during my visit I appreciated the fact that I didn't need to battle the elements for long on the streets. Great locatin, great price for area, friendly staff...only problems were that the TV did not work (turned on but wouldn't pull in the channels) and the location of our room was right nect to a dumpster....which wasn't very fun at 3:00 am and the garbage trucks came! The Charlesmark Hotel is very good and we were very happy staying there. The queen room we had was a typical size for a city like Boston or New York, and is ideal if you plan to spend most of your day out in the city. To get a significantly bigger room at a hotel of this quality, you'd have to expect to pay significantly more for it. We thought it was […] good value. The only extra we would have liked to have had was a coffee maker in the room. The location is great - very close to the Copley T station on the green line (literally a one minute walk), directly opposite the Boston Public Library and close to the parks. It's a very nice area with lots of opportunities for shopping, if that's your thing (Newbury Street is one street over, with lots of small, high-end stores).
