The hotel is clean and has all the basic amenities. While no frills, it really meets the needs of travelers who are busy all day and need a comfortable place to sleep. The front desk, especially Matt were professional and helpful. "Close to all must-see downtown areas of Boston"
Our stay was great however the concierge staff was very unfriendly. When you enter a hotel you expect a level of friendliness and helpfulness which was just the opposite of what we got. We weren't greeted with anything but, "Do you have reservations? Give me your credit card." Then they checked us in on this automatic kiosk and then gave us our cards […] and while we were already in the elevator the concierge yelled, "You got to use your keycard in order to make the elevator work." If you're going for customer service and friendly people this is not the hotel, but if you are going for a place to crash that's fairly inexpensive, clean, and boring...then this is the place. "Great Location"
I really liked the location of the hotel. There is a free shuttle from the airport that takes you right in. Loved the neighborhood and a short walking distance to the Aquarium and Chinatown and Boston Common. For the price and location you can not get a better hotel in Boston. The Club Quarters offered a convenient, affordable, location that is clean, staffed with professionals that understand Boston and the people traveling there. "Perfect for taking Amtrak into the city"
We took Amtrak and arrived at South Station which is a short walk to the hotel. Absolutely fabulous location for Freedom Trail and walkable to a Bruins game. Service was great and I loved the automatic check-in machine that's similar to one at an airport. Also unique was the water cooler complete with bottles which I used extensively prior to leaving […] on walking trips. We arrived at the Boston Club Quarters about 9:00 am. after taking a red-eye from LAX. The person at the front desk was very welcoming. Our room was not available at that early hour but she volunteered to store our luggage and told us that if we returned after noon the room should be ready and the luggage would be delivered to our room. We were feeling […] pretty energetic and asked her for a recommendation for a really good coffee place. Taking her advice, we walked to Boston Common which turned out to be an excellent place. We ended up taking a walking tour of Boston that morning and returned to find our room ready and the luggage delivered as promised. During the first 3 nights,we stayed in the superior room with kitchenette on the 2nd floor which was comfortable for 2. The room come with small kitchenette ( microwave, a small refrigerator, & a small sink), & a bed sofa. Bathroom is relative small but comfortable. The free hi-speed wi-fi is a plus as well. The service was OK. We asked for couple more […] pillows,& took them 2 hrs to give us just one pillow. Also, try to avoid staying on the 2nd floor as well. "A fine stay in a fine city"
I have no major complaints about my stay at the Club Quarters in Boston. It's in an excellent location and was very clean. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. I stayed on the 10th floor and the water pressure in the shower was amazing! I will say that if you plan to stay for an extended period of time, bring your own shampoo, as the stuff they provide […] really isn't very good. I'll address a few complaints I read from other reviewers: - Oddly shaped rooms - Yes, the door to the room is caddy-cornered, but this does not interfere with the room at all. - Thin walls - Yes, you can often hear neighbors listening to TV, but I wasn't bothered by it. - No safe - There is no safe in the room, however the hotel is very secure. For example, you need a key card to use the elevators. Finally, I had originally booked a room with a queen-sized bed, but was "upgraded" to a king. However, it ended up being 2 single beds pushed together, and they were different heights. Again, not a huge problem. I would definitely stay here again, and probably will! The best thing about this hotel is the price to quality ratio. It was a very reasonable price per night for a nice hotel, decent sized room for a major city center and amazing location. The hotel is right in the heart of Boston and could not be better situated for getting around. When we arrived no hotel staff came to help us with our luggage. Reception staff were quite abrupt....however those staff were helpful during our stay. The hotel is in a good position, and the room was comfortable, even if the bathroom was tiny. The bed and sheets were clean, however I did notice dusting was poor, and the carpet was not vacuumed.However, the bad aspect of the hotel is lack of customer service...eg watching us struggle with heavy cases and not even coming to open the door.
