"you won't be spending time in your room..."
Very convenient location; very helpful staff. LOVED the automated check-in. Room very small, bad lighting. But so centrally located if you're there on business/busy tourists, it is just fine. And the Elephant & Castle restaurant that is "attached" is also just fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"small but convenient"
Some really nice touches...free bottled water, automatic check in, nice lobby to hang out in. Great location...walking distance to anywhere!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"acceptable accommodations"
The hotel was conveniently located, with a nice bar/ restaurant adjacent. It was fine, though the bed wasn't super comfortable and the room was a little small for the price. We did go on a very busy weekend though, so that probably explains the price. In all, it was acceptable but not luxurious.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Ok for the price"
Overall, our stay was fine. It was nice having the restaurant right there and the location was great. Had we stayed longer than 2 nights, the room wouldn't have suited us. If you prefer softer pillows, bring your own. They were way too firm for me and actually did not have a great night's sleep the 2nd night because of it. Bathroom was extremely small, […] but clean and plenty of hot water. Expect to hear everything that's going on in the hallway or in the room next to you. Housekeeping knocked on our door despite having privacy tag displayed. Overall, the staff was very pleasant however, one of the front desk people was openly complaining about another guest's request while we were walking through, which is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. I think we would stay again for the price and location, if we were only staying a night or two. Outside of that, we're likely to try out another place for a little more money. "Efficient but lacks personality"
Nice hotel in downtown Boston. Very efficient but I expected a few more amenities for a 4+ star hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
They trick you with the photos. This is the smallest hotel room I've ever been in. No ice machines, water vending machine not working, no bell hop, other than one lady the service sucked and workers were very rude and not helpful. The cleaning staff did a good job in our rooms. The location was close to a lot but is in the financial district.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"OK hotel"
Booked the kitchenette room, it was very roomy, and nice to have a sofa, microwave, and fridge. The bed was horrible, we work up each morning with a backache, and by the last night I slept on the sofa. Also there was an extreme amount of noise on Friday and Saturday nights due to people having a party until 2:00 AM. Location is great, close to everything, […] overall, OK, but I would probably look for another location if I were to stay in downtown Boston. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Weekend in Boston"
It’s like a do it yourself Hotel, Kiosk check in, fill your own chilled bottled water on every floor, one ice station with plenty of buckets in one location. I liked the security card requirement to access the elevator above the lobby and to enter from the adjoining restaurant/pub. (Enjoyed one good meal there) There is a comfortable TV lounge offering […] free coffee and newspaper right off the lobby. Rooms were a bit small but the low price allowed a two night stay in great location close to historic sites, Faneuil hall, Macys and a few blocks too many pubs and restaurants. The Financial district is very quiet on Sat & Sun which is nice but a few block walk in any direction finds you whatever you desired. Enjoy Mike & Ginny Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel, simple, nice and easy"
I enjoyed my stay at Club Quarters in Boston. Check in was fast and easy, the lobby is nice, card access elevators provide a little extra security. The room was basic, but very nice and had everything I needed. Highly recommended for your next stay in Boston.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth it"
Not worth it for the price. The rooms are clean but spare, and the staff, while perfecty friendly, is oddly unattentive. Worst of all, the walls are so paper-thin that a quiet conversation in the next room can make it hard to sleep. The lower rooms probably get a lot of noise from the loud pub on the street level.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"everything was great except..."
the heater was working for the first few hours. The whole night was a little chilly. It was set to auto, 80F but still like blowing air. Thank God it was not cold air. Room was very clean as well as inside out of building. By the way, please remember to check-out before 12pm, or you'll get an extra $50 per room charge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"convenient location"
i booked this hotel online for the convenience of being less than a mile from tremont st where the clubs are. when i got there i was surprised that i had to either find street parking or i could park in the garage down the st and get a discount. i got lucky and found a spot on the street which is rare. i was also surprised how small the room was but […] the price wasnt bad. there was only 1 window and thinking that being on the 11th floor would give me a nice view but it didnt. If you had the same idea as me and want to stay someplace close to the clubs then this will serve its purpose for the night. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Horrible mattress"
Just about everything was acceptable, except for the mattress. I slept very poorly on account of the 'canyons' left in the mattress by previous guests.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean and convenient, but noisy"
Had a brief stay for business. The valet parking service was necessary because there is not street parking and the city lot was very crowded. The hotel itself is fine, but the rooms are fairly cramped and close together. Also the walls must be very thin, because there were conversations happening in the hall that sounded like they were in the room. […] Hotel service was not great, the desk employees seem to have perpetual attitude. If there were another city hotel at the same price, I would probably stay elsewhere. "Overall good value"
The power stayed on during Hurricane Sandy, so that was good. Otherwise, it's a nice building, the rooms are small but you have to expect that for a nice old brick building in the middle of the financial district. The prices are better than the surrounding comparable places. The Elephant &Castle restaurant/bar next door is pretty good, and they deliver […] a full menu right to your door for a trivial increase in their menu price. My only issues have been that you have to ask to have extra towels delivered since they are spare with them, and the little guest "supply" closets on each floor for things like coffee packs, irons, extra pillows, etc. never seem to have any non-decaf coffee or tea stocked. Oh and their comforters are relatively useless for warmth, all in all I'll continue to stay there for their good staff at the desk, decent wi-fi, food delivery/room service options, and good value compared to similar located competitors. "Great Location, but Uncomfortable"
The hotel is ideally located, the staff is pleasant and helpful, and the lobby is comfortable and well appointed. However, the beds are small and terribly uncomfortable, and the bathroom is tiny and barely accommodates one body at a time (and I am a fairly small body).Genuine Expedia guest review
"Californian in Boston"
Initial disappointment all around. Although I had called a week in advance to alert staff that my flight arrives at 11 pm and that I would be at CQ at midnight, nobody explained that valet service would not be available nor food served at that hour. This knowledge would have helped. Then I was assigned room 201 right off the elevator, a small room near […] bright exterior lighting and there was a broad wet spot of the floor next to the bed which soaked my socks. Hotel staff attended to the mess and were very polite. Still, It was well after 2 before I could get some rest after traveling across the country. It was a challenge to drive all the one way streets at midnight negotiating the construction to locate the Parking Lot on Devonshire which is just two blocks away, although the one way streets do not allow the ease. I will say that night two was much much better as the manager upgraded my room to 303 and I was more comfortable there and felt the value of the room appropriate. Thanks! "Good for cheap, but you get what you pay for..."
The hotel was simple but clean and convenient. Just remember to bring your own toothpaste, shampoo, and a laptop, IPad, or a device to entertain you while you are in your room because the TVs did not work. Further, there is no complimentary breakfast, but there is a restaurant on the bottom floor with an okay, but overpriced breakfast. From what I understand […] many people used to like the restaurant, The Elephant & Castle, but the restaurant has taken on a corporate feel and no longer offers the quality and charm of a traditional English pub. We arrived shortly after check in time and had to wait 30 minutes for a room. Then once we got to the room, it wasn't what we booked. So we weren't even in our room for an hour. "Great building, disappointing room."
The 'queen' bed is just two smaller mattresses bound together. Don't fall into the huge gap in the middle of them. When I arrived the room key ATM thing they had was out of keys, no biggie. When I got to my room the bed wasn't made, there was no fitted sheet, just a top sheet draped (poorly) over the crudely tethered smaller mattresses. The coffee maker […] was full of ice cold coffee and the filter wasn't cleaned out. The toilet hadn't been cleaned properly, and there was only one towel. Of course to get new towels I had to take the elevator down 8 floors and ask for them (there's a communal closet of supplies on each floor... no towels though); no towels at the front desk, they had to radio someone to deliver them to my room... which didn't happen during the half hour it took me to get ready for my event and leave. They've got an awesome location, but really need to learn a thing or two about something as simple as getting a room cleaned and ready. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The location was great and the staff was great. The bed and bedding were not the quality I expected. The first room I was going to stay in was drenched in lemon scented cleaner. "OK Hotel with a perfect location!"
This hotel is located 2 blocks from Quincy Market and the Waterfront. All major attractions are walking distance. The hotel is OK. It's a self-service hotel. The rooms are pretty comfortable but the maid service is not that great. (They did a very poor job on making up our room.) The big negative is that the bathrooms have no ventilation and they only […] have a shower, no tub. So as soon as you took a shower you had to leave the bathroom because there was too much steam to even breath. You do get complementary filtered water and k-cup coffee in the hallway/lobby of the hotel. Great price for this location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We were very disappointed; we reserved and paid for a room with a queen-sized bed. We arrived around 8:00 PM, dropped the luggage off and went right out. When we returned around 11:00 PM, we realized it was a double bed but it was too late (and we were too tired) to pick up all of our belongings and ask to be moved to a different room. "Great location-dodgy service"
We booked a night in Boston at the Club Quarters. Great location in downtown Boston just off the freedom trail & a short walk to the North End. The hotel is generally clean & well maintained. Two complaints--1) the phone in the hotel room was so filthy that the buttons stuck in when you pressed them. Totally sick! 2) We checked our bags at the front […] desk before we set out for the day & returned to pick them up before we headed to the airport. Location is great and the staff was very helpful. Room was slightly dirty and their were scuff marks on the walls. The door locking mechanism is the loudest I've ever heard. The people next door to me entered and exited their room every 10 minutes until 3am and it was impossible to sleep. My last night I didn't have a neighbor and the a/c unit was barely […] able to overcome the door noises from the rest of the floor. The hotel restaurant was poor. "Hotel was fine, the drunk, loser frat boys weren't"
The hotel was fine, but apparently on Thursday, Friday and Saturday they lower their rates and this means drunk groups of boys pack into 1 room and are LOUD and RUDE and run around the hallways. "Nice room staff could be better"
Club Quarters is a small hotel and at first glance not bad. After experiencing the staff for a couple days the best part was the pub next door. I always consider it a warning sign when staff are discussing their personal problems (loudly) from the reception area. After one long conversation (I happened to be sitting in the lobby for an extended time), […] the person answered the hotel phone and suggested that she had been busy and hadn't gotten to the guest's request yet... uh huh... Finally, I asked for a taxi early the next morning and was told that they like to be called the same day, essentially telling me to call back within a few minutes of when needed them... (4:30AM) OK, I suggested that they hold my request and call them prior to the time which they seemed to reluctantly do... Room was clean and fine, pub next door - fabulous Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Hotel"
Overall the hotel was a nice place, but for my sencond time staying there, it was the worst experience. We were placed in a room right by the elevator and honestly it was very frustrating. Yes, when I called it did quiet down a bit […] and I was given a complimentary one night stay, but I doubt I will stay there again. Maybe I'll go to the one in New York or DC. "Club Quarters in downtown Boston"
It's a good option for being very close to train and bus station and to Faneuil Marketplace and the North End. We paid $160/ night with my mom - the next option at the time was $180 for Sonesta - I am sure a higher standard for rooms. Service was very good and smooth. The problem (and it may not bother you) is the old building where hotel is. All visible […] updates seem to have been done - new fixtures, etc., Spaces are very small, my shower area was almost impossible to fit in and I am a very slim person. Thin walls were our main issue - we moved room after the first night where next room had loud people during the night - it is very easy to hear. That is my main recommendation and request to the hotel - to have insulated better to compensate for the small rooms. Less important for us, one of the bedcovers was torn near where it touches the floor. Otherwise, it is clean and they give great service- can be a good budget option if you are not nervous about how you might sleep at night. We really appreciated the welcoming and very cozy lounge room they have behind the reception. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
