The Eliot Hotel is a brownstone mansion located on the historic Commonwealth Avenue. The hotel is 1 block from the shops and restaurants of Newbury Street, the Prudential Center and Copley Place. Fenway Park is within walking distance. A Red Line subway station is 2 blocks away.
Hotel Features.
Built in 1925, the hotel features a brick façade on tree-lined Commonwealth Avenue. Chef Ken Oringer, James Beard Award winner for Best Chef in the Northeast and winner of the Food Network's Iron Chef Competition, has made The Eliot a renowned culinary destination. Restaurant Clio and Uni Sashimi Bar, both named among the "Best Restaurants in America" by Zagat, are located in this elegant boutique setting.
Valet parking, a doorman, and bellhops are provided. The lobby features white marble walls accented with emerald trimmings and Persian rugs. Clio, the hotel's Parisian-style restaurant, serves entrees including organic chicken, Maine lobster and California squab stuffed with foie gras. Uni, the adjoining sashimi bar, serves Japanese cuisine featuring Kobe beef, tempura, and sushi. The hotel's concierge is available to assist guests with arrangements from dinner reservations to Red Sox tickets or tours of Boston's Freedom Trail. Past the mirrors, brass banisters and glass chandelier of the lobby, a pair of ornate brass elevators carries guests to their accommodations. This is a smoke-free property.
Guestrooms.
The hotel's 95 soundproofed guestrooms are decorated with dark-wood furnishings and French doors separate living and sleeping areas. Rooms include complimentary wireless Internet, iPod docking stations and satellite television. Stocked minibars are included in all rooms, and microwave ovens and refrigerators are available upon request. Guest baths feature Italian marble countertops and bathrobes and complimentary Damana toiletries are included. The hotel provides complimentary cookies in each guestroom upon arrival. All rooms are non-smoking.

Uni - The hotel's contemporary sashimi bar can comfortably seat 21 guests. Fresh fish is prepared using a fine balance of exotic herbs and spices. Delicacies also include Kobe beef, sea urchin with quail egg, and rock shrimp tempura. Sake is served by the pitcher or by the cup. Uni delivers a hip atmosphere, while award-winning Chef Ken Oringer and his team create the freshest dishes before your eyes behind the open glass sushi bar.

"Close to great shopping and restaurants."
All of the individuals that worked were so attentive and very helpful. It is a historical hotel, very charming. It is located in a very nice neighborhood. Close to parks, Charles River, shopping, restaurant, Fenway. 10 minute ride to Downtown Boston.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Impressive hotel with old world charm and class. Room beautifully decorated but quite dark with window overlooking alley. Staff extremely courteous and attentive in fact so attentive over breakfast as to be almost intrusive. Valet parking an added plus. The Manager on duty felt so bad about a slight delay in retrieving our car on last day that he gave […] us a substantial discount on our hotel bill without any prior complaint from us !
