"PERFECT!"
This was the perfect place for us to stay. We were able to walk to the House of Blues, attend our show, bar hop. It was great. We will be staying again, I have no doubts.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"walking distance to everything! great stay!"
It was perfect! the room was a nice size and very clean and comfortable. I noticed we could get a king for less than $10 more than a queen with last minutes rates which was a really nice up grade. They also had a great spread for the breakfast served for guests as well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fenway Fenway Fenway & BU"
This property was a no frills pleasant property with an awesome location for Kenmore Square, BU and Fenway. Each of these locations are just outside your door. The hotel is no frills but that is not a bad thing as the price reflected the lack of amenities. The staff was very kind and courteous and the room was adequate. The hotel should mention that […] there is a decent (Hampton Inn style) continetal breakfast included! I would recommend the property. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Closest to Fenway Park"
The Buckminster is an older hotel. There is one small elevator but a wide staircase if you are on the lower floors. It is right around the corner from Fenway Park so if you are attending a game this is a great location. We were given a "complimentary" upgrade to a King suite, which meant we had a sitting room with fridge and microwave along with our […] king sized bedroom ( and a view of Fenway Park!).The bathroom was also a good size. We found it to be very comfortable for our short stay, clean and well cared for just older in style.Front desk staff was kind and there was a continental breakfast included but we did not partake. I was there for a fund raising run and would stay there again if I participate in the future. The hotel does offer parking for a fee and there are many good restaurants up Commonwealth Ave as well as the T stop right there, so you can't beat this place for convenience to downtown Boston. "Close to Fenway"
The Buckminster is less then one block from Fenway Park and one block from the subway. The building is old, but the room was very clean. During mid-day it took 10 minutes for the hot water to get to the room. The hot water came quicker in the morning. Great price and great location!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Never again"
Even though the hotel is old, the rooms have been renovated. it is also overpriced for what you get. The convenience of being across the street from Boston University trumps all the complaints with the exception of what happened to us during the stay. We were there from NJ on Thursday, April 18th, 2013, the day of the Boston lockdown. We were asked […] by the hotel staff to check of or pay even though no one was allowed in or out of the city. I have NEVER in my life encountered a bunch of people so out of touch with reality. I will NEVER stay in this establishment again and I recommend you don't do either. "Excellent, clean, affordable, well-located hotel"
Can't beat the location. Just a 2-minute walk from the Kenmore T subway stop. Hotel room was excellent (given the $130/night rate). There was a repetitive clicking sound in the room that was kind of annoying though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel"
Hotel Buckminster is a beautiful, character hotel that is close to everything. We enjoyed our stay there and would gladly stay their again. Our only complaint was that the room that we stayed in was a little small - but the cleanliness and overall feeling in the hotel more than made up for the slightly cramped quarters.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Within walking distance"
Garage was closing due to event, car would be blocked in 7am-6pm and was not notified before my stay.Parked on a side street and had to walk items back and forth from hotel to car. The freezer door on refrigerator was broken. There were two tv stands side by side that looked like they were picked from trash. No coffee maker in room and room was bland […] no decor to make it pop. Bathroom had no counter to put everyday bathroom items on. The room was located on corner could see Fenway Park and Commonwealth it was also very spacious. Hairdryer was handy and did serve breakfast but i did'nt eat so no comment. The radio on nite stand was nice and easy to use along with tv and remote. Cleanliness I would rate a 2 1/2, quality service would rate 3, Hotel amenities 3, location 3 , overall rating 2 1/2-3. Rooms are definitely over priced for the cost even with discount. Come on spruce it up clean it up and make it come to life - it could be a 5 star after a lot of attention to detail. "Great location for a Game"
Proximity to Fenway was awesome! Clean older hotel w/ small city rooms. No frills hotel but did offer cont breakfast incl in price & parking was $30 nite. Would book here again for sure!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Affordable and accomodating"
If you get the std. queen expect a room with a bed and not much room for anything else. Larger rooms are significantly more expensive and are very simply decorated. The hotel is old fashioned but well taken care of. The staff is very friendly and the location is convenient to Fenway Park and Boston University.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Old hotel, well kept, awesome location, good value"
The location is really good - across from Boston University, by Fenway Park, near Harvard / MIT. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The room was very good value for the price I thought. I would go there again. The hotel is not modern, but is well maintained and very clean. Furniture was fine, not outstanding. I had read about small rooms, […] but we paid a bit more and got a two room suite which had tons of room with a desk and a table, 3 chairs, a TV in each room. Wireless internet said it was only 1 hour for free, but I was able to use it without charge the next morning; my actual on-line time was probably less than 1 hour. The continental breakfast was better than average. Parking is $30/night additional, if you need it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small frustrations, but overall positive"
Other than one woman at the front desk, the staff was very friendly. Overall, it was a positive experience, but small things were frustrating. For example, since the hotel is so old the hot water heater must be too because my friend had no hot water one morning. The lay out of the breakfast was nonsensical so people were frustrated trying to maneuver […] around one another. Also the fee for parking there was not made clear until we arrived, and I wish I had known about that cost beforehand. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great for college visits"
Exceptionally friendly staff. Perfect location for visiting BU, Emerson, Northeastern and Boston College. The hotel is adjacent to BU. The T is right across the street, making the other schools less than a 15 commute by T. Parking was available with in and out priveleges. We didn't bother taking the car out. You could also park on the street if you […] are up and out by 8 to feed the meter, 2 hour limit. The furniture in the rooms was dated, but the bed and bedding were modern and comfortable. The bathroom was retro chic and clean. The restaurant was being renovated. Included hotel breakfast was adequate: Fruit, yogurt, cereal, white flour pastries and bread. Starbucks down the street. "Subway and Hotel"
The hotel is in a good position near Boston U and Fenway. Nice hotel, good service and clean. The subway is a block away. Subway cost $5.00 round for 2 rides and does take you from the airport. Problem is they have no shuttle, and the last subway leaves at 12:45 am s and starts up at 5:00 am. So if you take an early flight be prepared to pay $40 - $50 […] for a cab ride. My plane left at 5:30 am so instead of paying the high cab fare, I took the subway and enjoyed the experience and slept at the airport. I had a great time. Rooms are tiny, but are you traveling to Boston to hang out in the hotel? Hotel has discount rates, great location to Fenway, House of Blues, Boston College, and is a block away from a subway terminal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Extremely kind staff. Was upgraded to an efficiency suite with a kitchen. Clean room. Nice warm clean modern bathroom and the stove would have been practical if we were staying a while. Breakfast: no eggs or oatmeal, it was truly continental with fruit and cereal and danish, etc. Had to go to the next block, Eastern Standard twice for omelets because […] of the long days I was having at the conference. A good place to go if you're on a budget but want to be close to downtown. A flatscreen in the living room and an old style TV in the bedroom wardrobe. Free wi-fi. The table had many watermarks on it and there was something a little sad about the place, but acceptable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is great and was well-located, allowing me to be near my conference without being always in the midst of it. Two things: my bathroom smelled like smoke, and the website said that amenities included 90 minutes of free internet a day when, in fact, at check-in I was told I would receive just 60. This was a bit of a problem as one reason I chose […] the Buckminster was that I teach an online class and needed to be able to spend some time online each day. Otherwise, I had a good stay and found the desk people very helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Booked for the price and location"
We booked this hotel for a cheap place to stay after the Bruins game. The location was perfect. Only a minute walk to the t station. We also booked the hotel for the price, at least $20 cheaper than anything else in the area. However, when we got there we had to pay an extra $30 for parking. While this is typical parking rate for the area, we were […] told before hand the the first car parks free. Therefore, the room turned out to be just as expensive as higher end hotels in the area. The room itself was the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. For us, this was fine since we didn't spend much time there, but something to keep in mind. The room was HOT and we couldn't get the heat to turn down so we had to open the window (in march) which let in a lot of noise and we had to get up in the middle of the night to open and close it as the temperature changed. The room and hotel was clean and the staff until midnight was very helpful and friendly. My biggest complaint was just the parking issue, which the hotel says is discounted, but when asking the people at the garage they caaeged the same as the hotel did. "Too Old for comfort"
The location was convenient to Kenmore, by BU with lots of restaurant choices. The lobby was beautiful, with its historic decore. But the rooms...ugh! At check-in I asked not be by the stairs or elevator. the room was small, tight, dreary and near the stairs. I asked to be moved, my request was granted. This next room was bigger, but there were probably […] two outlets and an extension cord, which made it a challenge to plug in my laptop and charge my phone at the same time. While I like antique furniture, I dont like chairs that wobble when you sit in them or cabinets and desks that are tattered and worn. When I got up after my first night to take a shower to go to my uncle's funeral, turned on the shower, the water stopped coming out the shower head, back to the spout., and then all water STOPPED. After an extensive conversation with the front desk, a key to another room was brought to me, it was like the first room. So I used it to shower and get dressed, but asked the shower just be fixed as i was not staying in the new room. I finally decided to check out and go to another hotel. While the staff was very pleasant, the facility just was not. I travel a lot for business and leisure and this was the second worst. Sorry but its true Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location."
We have a son attending BU and a son attending NEU so we visit Boston frequently. We have stayed at many hotels in the Boston area and found this one to be the best location...right in the middle of the 2 campuses and convenient for the boys. Also it was not necessary to rent a car and pay the high parking expenses as we took the train to the hotel […] directly from the airport and back. The only problem was controlling the temperature of the room. It was hot and difficult to maintain a certain temperature. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Good rate, convenient locatoin to Fenway Park area and The House of Blues. Maybe too close to the House of Blues, given the partiers who stayed there following a concert. Also, the rooms were really really hot. We slept with the window wide open in March and were barely comfortable. Otherwise the room was fine, if tiny.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Across from Fenway Park, near BU, subway"
We were attending an event at BU. So perfect - easy to get to from the Mass Pike - Parking Garage rignt next door (extra $30) - took the subway to Quincy Market for lunch - spent the rest of the day at BU (easy walking distance). The room was beautiful and clean with great city views. Price very reasonable. Only negatives - no dresser for clothes and […] very noisy since it's close to hightway. "Buckminster wins again"
Stayed at the Boston Hotel Buckminster for a Bruins game and a Flogging Molly show at the nearby House of Blues. Buckminster is a budget hotel, so you're not going to enjoy the latest solid wood furnishing. What you will get is a great value for your dollar in a great location for events in the Back Bay/Fenway area. One great asset of this hotel is […] its proximity to the Kenmore Station on the MBTA Green Line "T", providing you fast access to most of the city by mass rail. It's a very simple rail trip from Logan Airport to Buckminster to wherever else you want to go in the Boston Metro. This is our 3rd stay here and we will gladly stay here again! "Nice hotel, good breakfast, but no free Wi-Fi"
A cute room right in Kenmore Square, trolley across the street. Two blocks from BU, which was our destination. Continental breakfast in the AM was very good. My only complaint was that they charged for the Wi-Fi after 1 hour of use, which was inconvenient for my daughter who wanted to do homework in the room.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Very Nice"
I wasn't there long. I was there to drop my son off at Boston University and I stayed the night. The rooms were clean, but the walls were thin. Heard people in other rooms talking. Clearly. But it was exactly what I needed and I would definitely stay there everytime I visit Boston if I can afford it. It is not a cheap hotel being it's in the heart of […] town and right down the block from Fenway. So I'm sure the prices are sky high during baseball season. "Charm vs Generic"
What are you looking for? If you expect the generic qualities of Day's Inn or the Mariott, you may not feel the carm of this historic hotel in Kenmore Square. The staff greeted us with the enthusiasm of family. The architecture with winding hallways and an avoidance of right angles will lead you to a unique room. Ours overlooked Fenway Park.
