The Langham, Boston is located in downtown Boston, Mass., across the street from Post Office Square. The Financial District, Freedom Trail, Faneuil Marketplace, and Boston Harbor are within 5 blocks of the hotel. Harvard Square is less than 4 miles away.
Hotel Features.
Built in 1922 as the Federal Reserve Bank, The Langham, Boston maintains marble entryways, ornate gold-leaf ceilings and Corinthian columns. The hotel is furnished with antique-style furniture and 16th-century maps. Café Fleuri serves Mediterranean cuisine in the building's 6-story glass atrium and features an open kitchen with a brick oven. On Sundays, the restaurant serves gourmet cuisine and hosts live jazz ensembles. BOND restaurant | lounge serves lunch and dinner daily and offers late-night entertainment Thursday - Saturday. The Reserve, a refined champagne lounge, offers drinks and light entrees. Chuan Body + Soul spa and fitness center provides a 6,000-square-foot health club with an indoor lap pool, spa tub, rejuvenation bar, and TechnoGym equipment with LCD TVs and iPod technology. Massage services and personal training are available for a fee. A total of 12,000 square feet of function space accommodates up to 600 people. Other amenities include complimentary wireless Internet access in the lobby and 24-hour concierge service.
Guestrooms.
This 9-story property offers 318 traditionally styled guestrooms featuring signature beds with pillowtop mattresses and down comforters. Rooms provide 37-inch flat-panel LCD TVs. Bathrooms contain Italian-marble floors, granite vanities, makeup mirrors, bathrobes, slippers, and Chuan Spa toiletries. All rooms include minibars stocked with gourmet treats and beverages for a fee. Rooms include high-speed Internet access for a fee, turndown service, and MP3 adapters. Laptop-compatible, in-room safes are complimentary. Rollaway beds are available on request for a surcharge.

This is a lovely grand old hotel, but frankly the renovations don't fit. The location kept us in walking distance of Quincy Market and the North End. The staff was lovely, and though we had a security issue during our stay - it was resolved quickly by the security staff. The satellite television was malfunctioning badly during the first night of our […] stay, and we had no signal on most channels. That situation improved the following night, but was not completely resolved. Our room service breakfast was lovely, but the coffee was undrinkably bitter. The rooms and common areas are impeccibly kept and helpful staff abound. The food and service at the Bond restaurant were quite good, but the decor, including a wide screen TV are completely out of place in such an elegant room. We stayed here after the blizzard as we needed to get away with our children who had been stuck indoors for days! We all enjoyed this hotel right from the minute we pulled up to the entrance! "Wow. Wow. Double Wow!"
I recently decided to surprise my husband with an overnight stay at The Langham. I wanted things to be special and had called previous to check in and spoke with Larissa. She was wonderful and said everything would be all set. I arrived ahead of my husband and upon check-in was immediately upgraded to a suite without even asking! It seemed that the […] staff just could not wait to exceed my expectations. Larissa even gave me a voucher towards any hotel services which I used for appetizers in the very trendy Bond restaurant where I had told my husband we were going for drinks. The waitress was in on the surprise and came over with a tray of macaroons with a candle and Happy Birthday written in chocolate! The room was beautiful -floor to ceiling windows that looked out over a lovely park below. The bed was super comfortable and all the linens and towels were so rich and thick. After returning from dinner there were chocolates laid out for us and another birthday wish written in chocolate. My husband worked out in the gym and said it was the nicest one he had ever been in and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. The overall impression is that all the staff at The Langham could not be more willing, to help with anything that was needed. The area is a bit quiet but that is great at night because it is easier to sleep. Many points of interest, Fanueil Hall, the North End, Seaport are all within easy walking distance.
