"Very noisy Hotel."
I was expecting a more quiet room. I like pet friendly hotels since the friendliness does not interfere with guests, witch was not the case. Also very noisy in the morning as soon as cleaning started. Full size bed should not be sold for 2 guest, really is a single bed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Basically a dump in a good location, cheap during the non-peak periods like January. Nice lobby, friendly staff, though hallways are shabby and a single room is REALLY small. Like living in a closet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I'd get specifics on everything next time ...."
The room was very small for the description. There was no view at all (a wall about ten feet away). The bar/restaurant service was non-existent. We were seated at a bar table and waited 15 mins. Not one person on staff acknowledged us. I wouldn't mind but it wasn't that busy at all. We were not informed of the cost of valet service for our vehicle. […] Our 2 night stay cost us an additional $80 to park. On the other hand, the lobby was spectacular....! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Disappointed!"
This is an old historic hotel so consequently the issues I think sometimes go with the territory, but not all. Our room was small and had only the bed in it with a small desk/chair next to it and that was it. The bathroom was well appointed but so small it was tough to turn around in and no fan so fogged up constantly. Worst of all was the paperthin […] walls, you could hear everything from surrounding rooms and the corridor outside. And with the daily wifi fee all that accomplished was a constantly overcrowded lobby where you could not find a seat ever! (Wifi was free in the lobby). On a positive note the staff were friendly and helpful and you could not ask for a more convenient spot but for us the negatives far outweighed the positive. Even on sale we do not plplan to return. After having been moved (!) from a room which was more like a broom closet where tel and tv remote were out of operation and where there was no way to access bed from 2 sides nor room for even a chair - to a bigger one after one night we ended up with constant elevator cable noise.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Exquisite lobby, small rooms, beds uncomfortable"
It felt like I was in "The Overlolok Hotel" from "The Shining". Halls long and repetitive in design. The opulent lobby was the fanciest part....and it didn't really matter to me how fancy it was. The staff at the front dest was sharp and knew their jobs. Let's talk about the room.....2 dbl. beds took up all the space....narrow pathway between the foot […] of the beds and the furniture was absurdly narrow.....2 people couldn't pass each other. The mattress was thick and very high and bent like rubber when you layed on it. Woke up with back-ache. You can't sit on the edge and tie your shoe unless your 6'5" tall. The room was stocked with "teaser" drinks and treats. If your kids ate the small jar of gummy bears, you would have to cough up $12.00, and that was 1 of many treats and drinks laid out to lure you. Bathroom was nice but small. Having more than 2 to the room seemed overcrowded. Open your window shade on a weekday and an employee in the building next to you can easily see you in your underwear or naked if you are so inclined. Room was small and overloaded...but clean. Be prepared to spend $$$ to park your car. They have valets at $42.00 a day but I went to a nearby garage that I expected belonged to the Hotel, but did not. Cost $96.00 to park for 3 days. Family of 4 vs. a traveling corporate employee made for a big disadvantage. Location was good. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The Parker House"
The hotel is well located in Boston's financial district. It is close to subway entrances and easy walking distance to Quincy Market, the Boston Common,l and the North End. The staff is friendly and helpful. The common areas are nice, a throwback to days of yesteryear. The problem is the rooms. My wife and I stayed in a "Deluxe" room. It contained two […] double beds and had space for little else. Two people could not move around the room at the same time. The walls are uninsulated; one can hear your neighbors easily. "Everything you'd expect from a very old hotel"
The location and public spaces are great and certainly should be enjoyed. The downside is the room so if you're planning to spend any time there or are a businestravelerer, this is not the place for you. -- Internet is slow and got better performance from the Klimpton across the street -- The iron was broken. When I asked them to replace it, they brought […] another broken one, though it was broken in a completely different way. -- In the double rooms, there is no place to work or even put a suit case. -- There really isn't room in the closet to hand more than two shirts. -- The bathroom has mildew and was a bit gross -- The bed had lost its support and actually seemed inclined toward the headboard So with all that, my stay there was good; I just didn't want to go back to the room. "Awful Service done Quite Nicely"
Everyone at Parker House was very nice. The people kept it from being a terrible experience. When the valet found out my son was devestated that the gift shop was closed and we couldn't get any Boston Creme Pies to take home, he went and got one for him. The people were great. Everything else however was bad. Our rooms were very late getting set up […] and the cot they delivered couldn't even unfold in the room. Luckily we had two rooms. When I told the hotelier of my issues, she was very experienced in telling me what my options were, but a partial refund was not going to be a part of it. She knew exactly what to say because I think she has to do it a lot. There are always tons of people in the lobby and a ton of luggage. It all made sense...we were not alone in our trouble, more than 50 other people milling about the lobby and probably more outside exploring Boston, were all waiting for our promised rooms to become available. It is a shame because the location is great, the history of the hotel is awesome, the people were very nice, but none of that matters when the quality of service is so bad. We had no idea this was a "pet friendly" hotel and were given a room next door to a woman with two dogs who barked on and off all nite long. "Omni Hotel in Boston--great location, tiny room"
The Omni is great for character, location, and history. We were right next to a red line and a green line stop, and I loved all the history associated with the hotel. Unfortunately, sleeping in the hotel was less of a charming experience. When they say "double bed" they mean it. But I could have double-checked that myself. What I had no control over […] was the noise level--it is noisy, really noisy, like the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. We were on the 14th floor, and we could hear wedding receptions going on above us. Also, every time someone passed by the room. The bathroom was so tiny you couldn't close the door without it hitting the toilet. And there was a huge crack in between the door and the floor, which meant that light flooded in all night. I would not stay here again, but if you do, get a bigger room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not a four star hotel"
We stay in Boston for a night quite regularly and this was the first time--and hopefully last--at the Omni Parker. We always try to stay at four or three-and-a-half star hotels and this one was by far the worst. A double size bed in a dark corner room which was barely bigger than the bed itself. Just to give you an idea: there is a desk in the room […] with an office chair but the only way you are sitting there is if you wedge yourself in. It may be easier to sit on the edge of the bed. The bathroom was even smaller such that you had to calculate your moves and open/close the door as to try to make your way in. Overall the size of the room was comparable to those in Japan which are famously small. The hotel decor is very old or old style but kind of gives you the "did I just get out of a time machine?" feeling. While the location is good, there are many better alternatives in the vicinity that I'd much rather stay at. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Omni Parker House - great location, overpriced"
Location is outstanding - right on Freedom Trail. Bed was comfortable. Lobby is beautiful. Noisy! Air conditioner is noisy when running (which is okay with me) but it cycles on/off a *lot* for no apparent reason. I woke up several times each night due to this. Also, there was a lot of hallway noise - we were around the corner from the elevator, but […] the bell was quite loud, and people talking (or even just walking) in the hall were very loud. I think the room door just needs to be insulated better or something...there was a lot of light visible around the door, so it's not surprising that all the sound came in. Bathroom was okay but not great. Fixtures looked old...not cool historic old (like the beautiful lobby) but just plain ol' old. No pool, hot tub or breakfast. Restaurant is very expensive. Gift shop even more so. Hotel had "free ice cream" in the afternoon - it was a little pre-packaged ice cream cup like what kids might get at a school lunch. All in all, not what I expect for this price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Won't be staying here again..."
My husband and I travel frequently and have stayed in some great places in Boston. We decided to try The Omni Parker House as the reviews looked good and the history seemed very interesting. Honestly, we were very disappointed. The room was so tiny that the bathroom door actually hit the fixtures upon closing...and this was our second room. I have never, […] in 20 years, asked to be moved to another room but our first room was so dirty that I called the front desk, had the manager come up and then he moved us (I can't believe it was even possible) to a smaller room. We've had larger rooms on cruise ships! No view whatsoever but that was the least of the problems. I do need to say that the staff in the restaurants and bars could not have been nicer or more helpful. So, the message I would send to people looking to stay here is to choose a different hotel but have drinks and dinner at The Omni! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Longest Continuously Operated Hotel"
As advertised, one really should expect what's coming. The hotel has been existing for so long, everything looks dirty even if it's not (if you know what I mean). I don't usually expect too much from a hotel room while on vacation, but I feel like washing my hands and feet every time I touch anything in the room. All in all, the room condition in this […] hotel does not match up it's price. The service there was actually very decent. Also the hotel was the first that made the famous Boston cream pie. With $8 for a tiny pie, it tasted pretty good. And that's the only good thing came out of an old hotel, I suppose. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"OMNI PARKER HOUSE HOTEL WAY OVERRATED!"
I don't understand why this hotel was rated so highly--I would never stay there again. We were on a trip with our oldest granddaughter and at 1st glance were very impressed with the hotel. It has a long history and a gorgeous lobby, but that's where it ends. We were given 2 double beds for the 3 of us. The room was seriously smaller than my daughter's […] closet (and its not a custom home). The room was claustrophobic. It had a window with a view into condos apx 10' away so we had to keep our curtains drawn all the time. The bathroom was ridiculous--a pedastal sink with nowhere to put your toiletries, and a shower apx 3' square with nowhere to put your shampoo, etc. I also do not understand why hotels have to put those heavy comforters on their beds in May. We had to remove them, then there was absolutely nowhere to walk! Save yourself some money and stay somewhere that has been updated. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Omni Parker House Boston - noisy rooms"
Pros: Location is awesome - walking distance to the best of Boston. Beautiful building, restaurant serves great food, bars are welcoming and service is fine. Cons: I am generally a fan of restored buildings and hotels, but this is a noisy hotel (noise from within the hotel). Let me start by saying, I'm not the kind of person that prefers charming or historic hotels, I like new, spacious and nice. That being, said this place was not for me. "I Have Stayed in Better 2-Star Hotels"
This hotels is AWFUL. On top of having a room smaller than most hotel bathrooms (not kidding), the horrible hotel experience first started when we tried to valet our car. It took forever to find someone to valet the car....which created a honking roadblock in front of the Hotel. Also, there is a flight of stairs to get to the main lobby. However, there […] were not porters to help with bags. As we were dragging our bags up the stairs, there was an elderly couple dragging their bags down the stairs while Omni works stood and watched. "Lousy Omni Experience"
To preface, I've stayed at the Omni Hotel In Pittsburgh, and Omni Hotel in Charlotte. Both of those hotels were terrific...great service, comfortable beds, good sized rooms, old/majestic/regal looking furnishings. The Boston Omni Parker House hotel was pathetic. The Pros: very comfortable bed. The Cons: Everything else. I reserved a "deluxe room" with […] 2 double beds--the room smelled like a 90 year old person's (apologies to the elderly) apartment and could barely fit the 2 beds into it. The bathroom matched the size of the room--to actually use the toilet I had to keep the door open (I'm no offensive lineman either). The only request I made to the front desk was I forgot my toothpaste and asked if they had some. The woman at the desk apologized, said she didn't, asked for my room number and someone would deliver it. I left the following day, never receiving toothpaste. I traveled to Boston on business, and was in my room for 7 hours of sleep, and 2 hours of TV watching. With that said, I was greatly bothered by this hotel and strongly urge others not to stay. My sole reason for picking this hotel was the price for the star rating and knowing the brand from my prior 2 experiences. With that said, I typically stay in the Langham Hotel and will do so on my next trip back to Beantown. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Boston Omni Parker House"
bills itself as the oldest continuously operating hotel in the nation. I believe it as it smelled musty everywhere we went. We arrived after a long exhausting drive around 1 am, a full day late. Received with no warmth at all. had to carry own luggage from street entry past heavy tight doorways then a long walk to reception desk. No escort to room offered. […] Room was basic elegant with an extremely high bed, nice linens, wide screen flat panel tv, snack tray and microfridge tucked inside tv cabinet filled with drinks. No prices on anything listed and barely any walking space in room. No second chair, a lamp didn't work. I couldn't even open cabinet door and look into fridge because there was no space once I opened the cabinet door. The whole room felt like a large closet with the bed and TV credenza-drawers taking up the whole thing. Claustrophonbic. Bed is a double, ccomfortable, but felt small for the two of us. A few positive things: Gym downstairs was nice with full towel service, the nice bath products, a restaurant and room service that are very expensive but convenient, and its walking distance to park, wharf, shopping and Faneuil hall. Glad we stayed downtown, but will choose a different place next time.
