The beds are weird. Half of the mattress is rock hard and the other half is limp. The pool? Wouldn't know. When we stayed no where along the line was it told to us that it was closed. Stayed at the Revere for a business trip. Liked the location of the hotel, the amenities, and the comfort of the room. "Beware of staff"
The hotel is gorgeous and very convenient. We went for New Years and the hotel had two parties which were booked out and u couldn't even get tix for them through the hotel. I called the concierge previous to my stay and one tolde I could buy tix at the door (turns out I couldn't) and when I spoke to another he told me he would call me back but never […] did. Upon arrival we were told we couldn't get tickets for either party. So we had to buy tix last minute to a local club. Besides for the maid who was awesome the rest of the staff seems snotty and uninterested. Called down for room service and was given a $30 grilled cheese fe not room service but from the diner down the block!!!! For $30 it was freezing cold!!! "Unexpected convention and smelly hallway"
Our family was on vacation in Boston and stayed at the Revere. The location is excellent and most of the staff were very pleasing. Unfortunately, there was a convention happening at the hotel while we were there that clogged the elevators (at one point my husband waited 10 minutes to return to our room), and the people attending were nasty, rude, and […] their language was inappropriate for our young daughter. Every time we went in an elevator, through the lobby and outside the hotel we encountered this group and never knew what our daughter would hear. One other negative - someone had vomited in the hallway outside our room we believe before we got there and the smell in the hallway was awful every time we left or came back to our room. I would have simply steam cleaned the entire hallway to get rid of it - I don't know why they felt an 8 x 8 inch fan would remove the smell. Loved the hotel aesthetically and great location, as well as the friendliness of the entire staff, however had problems with: 1) The elevators (unbelievably slow, and 1 or 2 were out of service at various times over our 2-3 day stay) 2) Housekeeping - asked for 4 extra towels sent to the room, which never came, so I had to call up and ask for again […] the next day 3) Bell Desk - we checked our bags after we checked out the day we left, and when we went back to pick up our bags a couple of them were soaking wet and a few items were damaged. The elevators were incredibly slow, average wait 10 minutes. Considered walking down 23 flights of stairs with luggage as the alternative. The hotel is very nicely located. You can see a lot at a walking distance. The room and washroom were very nice and clean. Also liked the choice of soap/shampoo and the pool area. Few same downside items as already listed by others still apply: the bad smell in the hallway (but not in the room), the hard bed and the slow elevators.
