This was a hotel with a wonderful structure. The rooms were very comfortable and the bed was great! We spent our 41st Wedding Anniversary here to be close to the Dinner Cruise departure port. The walk to and from the port was very enjoyable - actually more enjoyable than the dinner cruise! We stayed during a time of construction on the hotel so alot of the little things that I enjoy were not available, like calling down from my room to have my car available. I had to come down and wait for a valet to retrieve my car. Not a big thing but when on vacation I like to be pampered with stuff like that. My husband and I stayed at the Embassy Suites over the weekend to attend a Tampa Bay Lightening hockey game. I have not stayed at an Embassy Suites in years, so I was excited to have an opportunity to stay at this one. We stayed on the 15th floor of this very attractive 20 story hotel. There is a free full buffet breakfast every morning, along with omelets cooked to order. Every evening from 5:30 -7:30 PM is a complementary […] open bar of wine, beer, and a variety of decent mixed drinks available to all guests staying at the hotel. A very appealing view of downtown Tampa from almost any area of the hotel! The trolley system is close to the front of the hotel. It can take you all around the surrounding area for a very reasonable fee; even to historic downtown Ybor City. NEGATIVES: All parking for guests is subject to mandatory Valet Parking at an added $20 daily expense (plus tips). That gets pricey if your stay is extended. While the dimensions of the guest rooms are indeed spacious, the kitchenette privileges in your guest room is sadly underwhelming. It consists of a small microwave and small refrigerator you would typically find in your kids' college dormatory. . If you are in search of a hotel with good cooking and refrigerator facilities in the guest rooms, forget it! Plan to eat out a lot.
