I was a bit concerned about staying in National City,at a hotel that my work would pay for (Re: inexpensive) and close to the conference center (on my birthday, which meant I could get to any of the great restaurants in down town SD . The staff is super, even when I got grumpy over my companies booking mistakes, they were polite and nice and fixed MY companies mistake all with a smile. Busters American Restaurant next door was GREAT. My husband is still talking about choosing his omelet fixings on a weekday in a "hotel" restaurant. Then for my birthday dinner, the hotel staff suggested an eclectic, 75 yearold, tuck and roll steakhouse (Cafe La Maze) that was fantastic and so close!!! On the south side of San Diego near warehouses and a working marina stands this attractive oasis of a hotel with an accompanying friendly and good restaurant called Buster's. If your lucky enough not to be awakened by a train you will have an excellent stay. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

I had a conference to go to at the San Diego Convention Center and because the prices of the hotels in that area were waaaay more expensive I stayed here because it seemed to have everything I needed at a really good price and was only a few miles from there. The staff was very friendly except when my boyfriend ordered room service from the restaurant, […] the hotel directed us to, for a drink they were very rude and acted like they didn't know what to do. I had to run to a drugstore around the hotel and it seemed a little scary definitely a low income area. Driving back and forth from the hotel and convention center was pretty old the last day although there is a trolley you can take. The hotel will drive you to the trolley station if you have time then this is great, it's super cheap and you won't have to pay outrageous prices for parking when you get into downtown. I was rushed most of my trip to make meetings and seminars on time so driving on my time was the best for me. Overall, the hotel had everything was clean and nice for the price and the staff was friendly. I would recommend this hotel! Read more

I stayed here for a 3 day conference taking place at the Del on Coronado where all rooms were sold out or overpriced. I was pleasantly surprised that this is a brand new hotel. The gym was adequate and all equipment was brand new. This hotel has no bells and whistles or special amenities but is a great value. The location seemed somewhat industrial […] but for my purposes it was fine. Freeway access was close and it took 10 minutes to get to Coronado island. Almost a brand new hotel. Excellent facilities. Only problem was the wireless internet. I was at the end of the hall and the signal did not reach to my laptop. Had to check my emails in the lobby.
