Simply put you cannot beat the price and location of this hotel. Free Parking in Hollywood? Are you serious? If you want first class stay at the five star next door. Meanwhile I am not going to complain about the small stuff. This hotel was easy on my wallet and convenient to all of the Hollywood major sites. End of story.

Room was large but a little shabby. The location made up for everything! Less than a block's walk to the Hollywood Highland center and Dolby Threatre. All the Hollywood sites right there, as well as the Metro Rail station which took us to Universal City Walk within minutes. Enjoyed our stay very much.

very bad. the hotel is too old / dirty. The breakfast is way simple, and the breakfast cafe room is so small. The wireless network is super slow, and only available in some places, but not at my room. I need to ask front desk to fix the TV and shower. Overall, the room size is OK, but all facilities / service are too bad.

Cute on the outside (a Hollywood stars type mural on rear parking lot entrance. Awful on the inside. Problems from the minute we walked into room. Dead bolt missing, bed lamps didn't work, very old style wall heater didn't work (even after staff re-started pilot light), cheap style blinds didn't close (staff tried unsuccessfully to fix then left with […] no solution), tub/shower single faucet fixture was extremely hard to turn on. only after my husband pulled for several minutes did it finally open. Ok, the parking was free, we were walking distance to the Hollywood Bowl (albeit right next to a gas station), and free Internet. other than that, it was terrible. while I was at the check-in desk complaining about the heater, another guest (young man) made the same complaint. The location is great, just a few minutes walking from the Walk of fame. A nice breakfast is included, and the room was big with a huge bed. On the negative side, the wi- fi was not working well, and the decor of the room felt old and the fridge was very noisy.

We stayed here because of the central location, just a couple blocks from Hollywood Boulevard. The service was friendly and free parking was a plus. The room was not in great shape- broken tiles on the bathroom floor, the toilet was tipped at a steep angle, the blinds were old and broken, wifi connection was awful, and the windows wouldn't stay open […] unless you propped something in them. This is an older hotel and not fancy. If you want swanky and plan to spend a lot of time in your room, go somewhere else. BUT, it's a great bargain for anywhere in LA, especially for this location, it's very friendly, and I was very comfortable. It sort of reminded me of a European B&B.

Very cute hotel. It looks like a single apartment which is good because I like having big space. The kitchen is pretty huge but the negative thing is that there is no stove, there are so many cabinet space. The shower was okay, it will take a while to get hot water. 1st The Location, Do you know Hollywood and Highland. This is Right there, two doors to the Mall!!! The place is old, our room was clean, it came with a parking spot!!! OMG Your gonna be on Hollywood BLVD. So, I read some other peoples comments, some of them should have stayed at the near by spa, for three times as much, some of the others should have immediately asked for a room change. When we checked in about 3pm, staff was changing linens and about their business, I would suggest on checking in before going to an early dinner. So, if your romancing somebody, try some other place, if somebody ever called you a princess or high maintenance, try some other place. For the price we paid it was not a hotel standard. The bathroom tiles were cracked, lot of patch up jobs, the bathroom faucets, we had to forcefully open and close. asked for extra towels and were told the housekeeper locks the room so could not provide. Carpet seemed to be coming out from the edges. The blow dryer was missing.The rollaway bed, I could […] feel the springs. The room did not have a pleasant clean smell. This is the only hotel that I ever stayed in where the water was too hot. You have to be careful to find the exact combination to get water that wouldn't burn you in both the sink and the shower. The bathroom had mold on the wall. When you shower, it generated a lot of steam (no exhaust fan). The bathroom tiles were mostly cracked or broken. We had […] to ask for towels three times. One night when we wanted more, the person at the desk (who didn't speak very clear English) said I would have to wait until housekeeping came in at 8 a.m. The room was never vacuumed during our entire stay (5 days).The windows in the bedroom area were not sealed and we could hear everything outside. We checked to see if they were open and they were not. We tried to adjust them and they were cockeyed in the frame. The night before we checked out I asked if they had a printer to print my e tickets. He said yes. So the next morning I went back and the new clerk said I had to go get my own laptop to do it. So I went to get it and when I returned (within 2 minutes), he had left! The new clerk said he wasn't coming back and this new one didn't have any idea how to do it! The staff was terrible! The room was very pooly lit and we couldn't open the blinds because you could look into the hotel next door. The only outlets we could find (besides the bathroom) were at the base of one of the two little lamps in the room. The room to the door had to be either slammed or pulled very hard to get it to latch. Read more

Made reservations months in advance requesting king sized bed and second floor room. Neither came through although reservation confirmation noted king bed! No one seemed to care about anything. Certainly when booking an economy room there should be a lower level of expectation but this place didn't even come close! When I asked about ice I was told […] about the liquor store across the street. Even the television became a challenge as the remote was not compatible. Linens were sub par and there wasn't even a mattress pad on one of the beds. It appeared that the cleaning staff lacked the ability to clean. Floor tiles were cracked and there was some strange rust coming from under the sink. The toilet seat made you feel as if it had not survived an earthquake.We had stayed at "the place across the street" in January and should have done so again. Additionally the coffee was like the classic dishwater and the bagels/muffins were too stale to consume.
